Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI136

Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. Tonight it's the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI136 this photo was chosen by Cheryll Miller. I just love the colours and this amazing loungeroom.

The chosen colour combination for #CI136 is Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron, Garden Green and Sahara Sand. As well as the chosen colours you may also like to add Basic White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Crumb Cake and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory', 'Bronze' and 'Natural Tones' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Petal Pink instead of Brushing Bride .... you get the drift).

The challenge will run for almost 4 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 6th February 2023 (this just happens to be on my birthday) details to follow at the end of my blog.

Tonight's card or should I say cards for the challenge, I have used brand new products from the new Mini Catalogue for January to April 2023. It's called Two-Tone Flora bundle (160414) which includes the stamp set and coordinating Dies. It's also part of the Fancy Flora Suite (160431) You can purchase this bundle from my online store as of now.

Whenever I do these types of cards, I like to try out a rough layout of where the different images will go and which coloured inks I'll use. I always start with the largest stamp image and usually stamp just off the cardstock and stamp my way around until I've used the smaller stamp.

A great tip is to use the Stampin' Up! Masking Paper, die-cut out the flower images from the Two-Tone Flora Dies, add a little embossing buddy to the sticky part and place over the stamped images. This helps with the layering of the flowers and gives you depth for your stamping.

Using the Two-Tone Floral stamp set I found it was easier to use the detailed flower image in full strength and then use the solid flower image and stamp off before layering the image over the detailed stamped image. I used Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand for the flowers then Mint Macaron and Garden Green for the leaves and branch images.

I like to use the Blending Brushes to block out some of the white on the cardstock, I did this for the Garden Green card. I added Sahara Sand, Mint Macaron and Garden Green ink around the edges of the cardstock.

I've added Sahara Sand Twill Ribbon under the sentiment, and I also unraveled the ribbon to form fine strands and tied Linen Thread into a bow. The sentiments are from Celebrating You Stamp Set, stamped in Sahara Sand for the 'Happy Birthday' and Garden Green for the 'Just For You'. To finish off the cards I added a few embellishments and stamped images.

I hope I've inspired you with the latest challenge and I do hope you'll join in. We so look forward to seeing a variety of projects using the challenge colours. Please ensure that your project is new and made specifically for this challenge.
