Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI84

Hello and welcome,

It's a beautiful day here in Melbourne and it almost feels like spring with the sun shinning. I've created a coupe of cards for the latest challenge and here are the details.

INKspired to join the challenge? It's so easy. Firstly, get some INKspiration by checking out all of the creations of the Colour INKspiration Crew in the challenge album on our Facebook page. Then you have 12 days from Wednesday 26th August to make and upload your creation to the Facebook Colour INKspiration Group. You don't have to have a blog to participate but if you do you can link back to your post. Make sure you use all of the challenge colours. You can also use neutrals such as Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and Basic Black as well as Metallics.

Not a member of the Colour INKspiration Facebook group yet? Just click here and ask to join Colour INKspiration, add the group to your favourites and share it with your crafty friends so they can join in the fun too. We can't wait to see what you create with these gorgeous colours.

I've used the Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set for the challenge colours they are Magenta Madness, Just Jade, Rich Razzleberry, Garden Green and Rococo Rose. Fellow crew member Cathy Pinchbeck selected the photo for the colour palette. I love the rich colours.

Creating the cards for the challenge was a challenge in it's self, trying to decide which stamp set to use and then I was inspired by Kayla Renee (who created a card using the Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set) another Stampin' Up! Demonstrator who creates beautiful cards.

I really like the idea of adding layers using the Stitched So Sweetly die cuts giving it another dimension to the card.

I've used more of Just Jade and Garden Green in the first card.

The second card is more of Rich Razzleberry and Magenta Madness.

The card base is Rich Razzleberry and the sentiment is stamped in Just Jade.

I hope I've inspired you to come and join the #CI84 challenge. Here's the link to our Colour INKspiration Challenges Facebook Group. Not a member? All you need to do is answer the three questions and we will accept you into the group.

Hope to see you there.

Happy Crafting

Your Creative Connection #YCC114 Shades of Black and White

Hello and welcome to another creative showcase with Your Creative Connection, let us take you around the world on a Global hop with other Demonstrators. I hope we will inspire you with our creations.

This week our theme is "Shades of Black and White" using these colours and shades of grey in between showcasing in your project. It's been awhile since I've created something like this and I couldn't go past the Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle which was the perfect choice.

The large stamp image using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink for the Sunflower is so striking with the detail and shading. The Basic Black Sunflowers Dies add another depth and layering to the card. I like to use Stampin' Dimensionals to make the Sunflower pop! The leaves are offset from one another so you can see the many layers.

I've used the splatter stamp from the Painted Poppies Stamp Set, stamped it in Memento Ink a number of times to the panel of Whisper White Cardstock. I really love this stamp and it's so much fun to use in your projects.

To finish off  the card, I've placed the greeting over a strip of Basic Black Cardstock. The card base is Whisper White with a panel of Basic Black Cardstock.

Now it's time to visit the lovely Dawn Olchefske in Minneapolis, USA and see her beautiful project.

Week 12 Art With Heart Colour Creations Weekly Showcase Crumb Cake

Hello and welcome to Week 12 with the Art With Heart Colour Creations Weekly Showcase. Which the lovely Catherine Proctor is running our weekly blog and with a selection of other Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from the Art With Heart Team.

Crumb Cake

This week we are featuring Crumb Cake in our projects. Crumb Cake is part of the Neutrals Collection and comes in a range of Stampin' Up! products such as the Classic Stampin' Pad, Cardstock, DSP and more.

Today's card is a vinatge style card, using one of my favourite and versatile Stampin' Up! Colours - Crumb Cake. I've used the Tasteful Touches Stamp Set which is in the Annual Stampin' Up! 2020 - 2021 Catalogue. The flowers are stamped in Crumb Cake Ink and coloured in with the Stampin' Blends using Crumb Cake.

I've used the tag die from the North Pole Wonders Dies which is new and is from the August - December 2020 Mini Catalogue. This particular die is just perfect for a vintage card and works well with the Very Versailles script stamp. I've sponged the edges of the tag in Crumb Cake Ink.

There are a number of layers to the card, using the following Designer Series Paper - In Good Taste DSP and Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP.

To give them an old vintage look, I've used the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder, ruffing up the edges was fun by using the Paper Snips and sponging Crumb Cake and Early Espresso Ink. As the DSP is thinner than Cardstock, it was easier to rip and tear up the paper.

The Gilded Autumn DSP has elegant designs in earthy colours and peaking through on the other side is gold or copper foil. Just adding enough pop of colour to my project. The Champagne Rhinestones reflect the metallic in the DSP and add some bling.

Adding a few more items to the card are the In Good Taste Elements, Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim and Braided Linen Trim. The sentiment is from the Best Year Stamp Set.

Please visit Catherine's blog to see her creation and all the links are there as well, so you’ll be able to see everyone’s creations for this week’s showcase.

Thank you for visiting my blog today, I hope you’ve enjoyed how I’ve used Crumb Cake and make sure you come back next week to see the colour Crushed Curry in our projects.

Heart of Christmas 2020 - August by the Art With Heart Team Australia

Hello and welcome,

Tonight the Art With Heart Team will be showcasing their Christmas projects with you for the month of August. The lovely Judy May is the host for our monthly hop, so make sure you click on her name at the end of this blog.

The products I've used are from the new Stampin' Up! August - December 2020 Catalogue and there are so many gorgeous Suites, Bundles, Stamp Sets, Ribbons etc.. to have in your crafty stash! It's a must read, in my books! Need a catalogue? I'll have my link at the end for you to contact me and I would be happy to send one out to you.

I've used the Wonder of the Season Suite which is on page 30 - 33 of the Mini Catalogue, I so adore the traditional Christmas Colours of Red, Green and Gold. The new products I've used are

  • Wishes & Wonder Bundle 155151
  • Cherish the Season Bundle 155154
  • Tis the Season 6"x 6" DSP 153489
  • Pine Wood Dies 153563
  • Red & Green Foil Sheets 153510
  • Brushed Metallic 12" x 12" Cardstock 153524
  • Poppy Parade Satin Ribbon - All the Trimmings Ribbon Combo Pack 153541

The card base is Real Red Cardstock with a panel of Real Red and a panel of Tis the Season Shaded Spruce DSP. I've added the Poppy Parade Ribbon to the two panels and then my layering begins with lots of different elements.

The Whisper White gift tag has been embossed in white Stampin' Emboss Powder using the greeting from the Wishes & Wonder Stamp Set it's hard to see but I wanted something subtle with white on white.

I've used the Gold Hoop Embellishment to incorporate all of the elements together, the Red & Green Foil for the deer, baubles and tree and the Gold Brushed Metallic for the foliage.

The sentiment is from Cherish the Season Stamp Set and stamped in Real Red Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and fussy cut out.

Now it's time to visit Judy May's blog and the rest of the participants for this month's Heart of Christmas Showcase.

Need a catalogue? Please send me a message here

Global Design Project #GDP253 Colour Challenge

 Hello and welcome,

Today I've decided to enter into the latest Global Design Project #GDP253 which is a colour challenge and  for my project I've used the Forever Fern Bundle. Which is really getting a workout this past week with all of my blogs.

The challenge colours are happy and summery! Even though it's winter in Melbourne, Australia this past week has been a little warmer than usual which is nice for a change.

I think the foliage from the Forever Fern Stamp Set looks so beautiful in any of the Stampin' Up! Colours. The hardest part was to choose which colour for which stamp! I really love Calypso Coral for the main focal point of the card.

The greeting is from the Beautiful Autumn Stamp Set which is from the August - December 2020 Mini Catalogue. I've layered the strip of Whisper White over a strip of Calypso Coral Cardstock.

I've lightly sponged Granny Apple Green Ink with a Sponge Dauber onto the panel of Whisper White Cardstock and then adding all of the elements to my card.

Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Happy crafting

Colour INKspiration Challenge #83 - Forever Fern

Hello and welcome,

It's time for another Colour INKspiration Challenge #83 and this gorgeous picture was chosen by Colour INKspiration Crew Member Nikki Spencer.

As well as the chosen colour combination for #CI83 are Bumblebee, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White and Basic Black, you may also include Crumb Cake and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory' and 'Bronze' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all of the colour palette, feel free to use the closest Stampin' Up! substitute (ie: Crushed Curry instead of Bumblebee you.. get the drift).

We hope you can participate this round and we look forward to seeing a variety of projects using the challenge colours. Please ensure that your project is NEW and specifically for this challenge.

#CI83 will run for almost TWO weeks and will end at 7pm (AEST) on Monday August 24th.

For my card I've used the Forever Fern Bundle and including those gorgeous Gold Hoop Embellishments. I'm just loving those Hoops so much!

I've also used the medium Daisy Punch, punched out three times in Whisper White Cardstock, sponged Bumblebee Ink with a Sponge Dauber and added tiny dots for the center of the Daisy using the Stampin' Write Marker.

The challenge colours for the foliage remind me of the Australian Native Bush, like the Australian Wattle Tree. I've added one of the wooden leaves from the In Good Taste Elements. Giving the card a natural earthy look about it.

Before layering all of the elements to the card, I've placed the panel of Whisper White Cardstock to the panel of Basic Black Cardstock and then adding the Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon to the two panels. Once everything was added, I've used thick Whisper White Cardstock for the card base.

The sentiment is from the Best Year Stamp Set which is from the Annual Stampin' Up! 2020 - 2021 Catalogue and can be found on page 133. I really love the two different fonts in the text.

Well I hope I've inspired you to come and join in on the #CI83 challenge. Here's the link to our Colour INKspiration Challenges Facebook Group. Not a member? All you need to do is answer the three questions and we will accept you into the group.

Hope to see you there.

Art With Heart Team Creative Showcase August - Rainbows

With all that’s happening worldwide at the moment the Art With Heart Team are here with a Rainbow theme Creative Showcase to brighten your day.

Every month the talented ladies share their inspirational ideas in a monthly Showcase and this month our projects are inspired by Rainbows.

When I heard the theme was Rainbows, I just couldn't wait to get into my craft room and start playing with lots of ink and have fun! I mean who doesn't like Rainbows! They certainly put a smile on my face.

For my Rainbow project, I've created a wreath card using the Forever Flourishing Dies, coloured Inks and Watercolor Paper.

I started with preparing the coloured Inks and adding a little ink onto the two acrylic blocks. I've used Magenta Madness, Gorgeous Grape, Pacific Point, Coastal Cabana, Mango Melody and Poppy Parade.

Using a sheet of the Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, I've spritzed water using the Stampin' Spritzer onto the paper. I've used the large flat brush tip of the Water Painters, adding colour to the paper and also mixing the colours together on the block. You can add more colour as you go.

Once the Watercolor Paper is completely dry, I've die cut all of the pieces using the Forever Flourish Dies. I've added score lines to the larger/wider leaves for more detail.

To arrange the wreath as a guidance, I've punched out a circle using Whisper White Cardstock and the 2 1/4" Circle Punch.

I've used a lot of Glue Dots to the back of the leaves, starting with the larger leaves around the circle and finishing off with the smaller leaves.

As the Rainbow wreath is the main feature of the card, I've used Thick Whisper White Cardstock for the card base and the greeting in Memento Black Ink and fussy cut out.

I hope I've inspired you with my Rainbow card  and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone else's Rainbow creation.

The next team member to share their Rainbow inspired project is Sharon Davern
