Art With Heart February 2020 Masculine Blog Hop

Welcome to another Creative Showcase with the Art With Heart Team.

This month we are featuring Masculine themed projects. We have many masculine themed products in the Stampin’ Up! range including Stamp Sets and coordinating Dies, Designer Series Papers, Embellishments and Embossing Folders. Art With Heart Team have a wonderful selection of projects to inspire you to create Masculine Masterpieces

I’ve created three cards using the Tropical Oasis Suite which is from the 2020 Mini Catalogue. I just adore the retro tropical images, the DSP, Coastal Weave Embossing Folder, Braided Burlap Trim and there is so much more in the suite.

My cards are based on the colours used in the DSP, I've used Soft Suede, Pretty Peacock, Pool Party, Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz and Crumb Cake. These colours say masculine to me.

I’ve created my own palm tree DSP in Pretty Peacock with Ink and Cardstock. Layered over the embossed Cardstock in Pretty Peacock using the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder and then I ran the ink pad over the embossed piece, giving it more definition.

The Stitched So Sweetly Dies are also from the Mini Catalogue, I’ve used the larger die and sponged Pretty Peacock Ink on the edges.

I like to add many different elements and textures to finish off my card.

This card I’ve created using the Petina Technique, I started off sponging Ink in Pool Party, Pretty Peacock, Soft Suede onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I’ve embossed it with the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder, dab it with Versamark and heat embossed it with Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder.

The added layers for the card are from the Timeless Tropical Bundle, Tropical Oasis DSP, Tropical Oasis Trinkets and Braided Burlap Trim.

They are all layered over the Stitched So Sweetly Die in Soft Suede. I had also lightly sponged ink onto the tropical flower and leaves.

The last card is using the Tropical Oasis Memories & More Card Pack I’ve used one of the larger card fronts, softly sponged Crumb Cake Ink onto the card and layered on top of Soft Suede card base.

The Stitched So Sweetly Dies are used again, but this time I’ve used two of them. One is in Soft Suede, the other in Crumb Cake and sponging ink to each of the die cut pieces. Layering a few more items from the suite and then you’ve completed another card.

As you can see that by using the same suite, plus a few other items from the Mini Catalogue the ideas are endless for a masculine card.

Colour INKspiration #72 Challenge

Tonight, is the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #72 and this stunning photo is our inspiration. The colours for the challenge are Bermuda Bay, Grapefruit Grove, Pretty Peacock and Calypso Coral. I just love the shimmer of the colours in the photo and this is why I’ve created a under the sea, Mermaid card. You can also add Basic Black, Whisper White, Very Vanilla and metallics. We also allow ‘Ivory’ and ‘Bronze’ in the Stampin’ Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Pumpkin Pie instead of Calypso Coral).

This challenge runs for almost 2 weeks and will end at 7pm (AEST) on 9th March 2020. I hope you’ll enter into the Colour INKspiration Challenge, we would love to see your creation.

For my card I’ve used the Magical Mermaid Stamp Set which is from the Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalogue 2019 – 2020. I haven’t used this set for awhile now and using different colours brings it back to life.

To create this card, I started with a panel of Shimmery White Cardstock, sponged Bermuda Bay & Pretty Peacock ink with a Sponge Dauber. Blending the two colours together, until I was happy with the look. I then added a few drops of Bermuda Bay Pigment Sprinkles onto a Clear Block, mix with water and using my Aqua Painter, I flicked droplets of ink onto the Shimmery White Cardstock.

The next step was to add the Gold Embossed stamped images of seaweed over the deep sea panel using Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set. On another piece of Shimmery White Cardstock for the mermaid image, I embossed her with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, heat set with the Heat Tool and water coloured the mermaid in using the four challenge colours. The skin of the mermaid is using the Ivory Stampin' Blend and Color Lifter.

I wanted to create some magical sand to the card, so I’ve used a mix of Bermuda Bay Pigment Sprinkles with Bermuda Bay Ink, added to the Embossing Paste on a palette and mix with a Palette Knife. I layered the blue/green paste onto the Cardstock with the Palette Knife and before it would dry up, I sprinkled Stampin’ Glitter and coloured sequins to the Paste.

I like the raised look for the mermaid and sentiment, so I used Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added extra sequins floating around the mermaid in the water. The card base is Bermuda Bay with a panel of Grapefruit Grove to highlight the orange tones throughout the card. I think this colour combination is just so stunning together. What do you think?

Make sure you visit our Facebook group to enter the competition, we would love to see how you would use this latest colour challenge.

Just Add Ink #492 .... Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome,

I’ve entered into the latest Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge #492, this is a fun sketch challenge which Jackie Aitken has chosen.

My creation is using a number of different products from the Annual, Mini, Saleabration Stampin’ Up! Catalogues to form this Mother’s Day card. I know Mother’s Day is still awhile away, but I wanted to start now and create a 3D Flower as the main focal point for the card.

I’ve used the Heart Punch and punched out a number of hearts in Petal Pink Cardstock. I started to sponge Petal Pink ink onto the edge of the hearts but I wanted more depth, so I added Grapefruit Grove Ink.

Punch out 1” Circle Punch as the flower base, I’ve scrunched up each petal before I layered them on top of the circle and add more of the petals to form the layers with adhesive. The black stamen is a strip of Basic Black Cardstock 20cm x 2cm, snipped with Paper Snips all the way along and then rolled up. Securing it with a couple of Mini Glue Dots and fanning out the strips. I added two leaves from the Rooted In Nature Stamp Set & Nature’s Roots Dies using Old Olive, Ink and Cardstock.

Now for the card. The card base is Basic Black followed by the gorgeous black and white striped paper – Golden Honey Specialty DSP which is from the Saleabration Catalogue. I just love the bold stripes combined with the Petal Pink and Old Olive.

The black writing is from the stamp set Very Versailles, which fits nicely inside the Heirloom Frames Dies and 3D Embossing Folder.

I’ve used White Stampin’ Emboss Powder for the sentiment, heat embossed and fussy cut out. It’s layered over the Whisper White scalloped die cut from the Painted Labels Dies and a strip of Basic Black Cardstock. I had to add some bling to the card, so I added the Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels which complements well with Petal Pink.

What do you think of my card? It's not one for posting in the mail or even placing in an envelope, but it could be framed.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #71

Hello and welcome,

Tonight is the latest Colour INKspiration challenge #71 and this gorgeous photo is our inspiration. The colours are Highland Heather, Pool Party, Gray Grantie and Pear Pizzazz. Isn’t it just stunning? I just want to step into the photo and be there. You can also add Basic Black, Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and metallics. We also allow 'Ivory' and 'Bronze' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie Smoky Slate instead of Gray Grantie).

This challenge runs for almost 2 weeks and will end at 7pm (AEST) on Monday 24th February 2020. I hope you’ll enter into the Colour INKspiration Challenge, we would love to see your creation.

I’ve used the Parisian Blossoms Suite which is in the Mini 2020 Stampin’ Up! Catalogue, I love this suite because of the two gorgeous bundles – Forever Blossoms Bundle and Parisian Beauty Bundle which means more items to play with.

To create this card, I started with Pool Party Cardstock for the card base, I cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and ran the panel through with Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder. After embossing, I roughed up the edges of the cardstock with my Paper Snips and curled the corners with the Bone Folder. I also did this with the piece of Parisian Blossoms Specialty DSP which is in Pool Party and I sponged ink around the edges to give it a distressed look.

I’ve stamped the large flower branch image in Stazon Jet Black, onto Shimmery White Cardstock, using my Aqua Painter, I’ve water coloured the flowers in Highland Heather and leaves in Pear Pizzazz. I’ve also added a few more of the flower and leaf images to my card.

The dies from the Parisian Beauty Bundle have so much detail to the Eiffel tower and swirl, they have been die cut out in Gray Grantie Cardstock and layered over the pieces of papers. The greeting is stamped in Gray Grantie and layered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Kylie's International Blog Highlight February 2020

Hello and welcome,

Today I will be sharing a card that I’ve created for Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights with the theme “Thank you”. I have so much to be thankful for as it’s my birthday in a couple of days and I have been receiving some amazing cards in the mail from other crafters. It’s the best feeling going to your letter box and to find a handmade card in the mail. I have been busy creating thank you cards and I wanted to share this card with you.

Myself and other crafters around the world have entered for the month of February and you can vote for my card. The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop later this month, so please vote for my card. You can do this by clicking on the link here  http://bit.ly/KyliesInternationalHighlightsFeb2020VoteForMeHere or at the end of my blog.

The card I have created is an elegant Parisian style card with the Eiffel Tower and coordinating products from the Mini Stampin’ Up! Catalogue. Petal Pink, Champagne and Cherry Cobbler are the colours for the card. The Parisian Blossoms Specialty Designer Series Paper has soft, beautiful patterns with Champagne foil accents on some of the designs.

I’ve added the glossy Petal Pink ¼” Champagne metallic-edge ribbon over the DSP.

There are 6 dies from the Parisian Dies set, I have used the Merci (which means Thank You in French), the Eiffel Tower (how gorgeous is the detail) and a delicate swirl die. They are all in Cherry Cobbler Cardstock with heat embossed in Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder to give the dies some added shine.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

You can vote for my card by clicking here.

Creation Station February Full Monty Blog Hop

Hello and welcome,

Today we are sharing Stampin’ Up! products with a fun hop called the “The Full Monty” in other words the whole kit and caboodle, using the entire suite or most of the products as possible.

I’ve chosen the Tropical Oasis Suite which is in the Mini Stampin’ Up! Catalogue. I just love the retro suite with the bright colours and tropical images that will give your projects that tropical feel. It just makes me want to go on a holiday!

Tropical Oasis Suite: I've used the following products - Tropical Oasis DSP, Timeless Tropical Stamp Set, In the Tropics Dies, Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder, Tropical Oasis Trinkets, Tropical Oasis Memories & More Card Pack and 5/16” (8mm) Braided Burlap Trim.

I’ve created two cards and decorated a Kraft Pillow Box. I’ve stamped the Hibiscus in Melon Mambo and with the Stampin’ Blends I’ve used Daffodil Delight and Lovely Lipstick to colour in the flower images.

The Frangipani stamped image are in Melon Mambo, Pineapple Punch and Mango Melody, plus adding a little colour to the flower with the Stampin’ Blends. The leaves are stamped in Pretty Peacock and Shaded Spruce.

The Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper is just gorgeous and I especially love the side of the lush foilage using different shades of greens for the Monstera leaves.

I've used the DSP on one of my cards and the Pillow Box, it was a must to showcase this beautiful paper. Pretty Peacock was the perfect colour choice for the card base and colour throughout my projects.

The Braided Burlap Trim is a natural colour and so versatile. I’ve lightly frayed the ends to give it a distressed look.

The Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder has a weave pattern, once I embossed a piece of Old Olive Cardstock,  I added Versamark Ink by running the Ink Pad onto the Cardstock and I also added Shaded Spruce Ink with the Sponge Dauber.

The Tropical Oasis Memories & More Card Pack can make you a quick card in minutes, as I had a few of the stamped images already created and die images cut out to help you to create this Birthday card.

I’ve used one of the double-sided cards for the background, lightly sponged Melon Mambo Ink onto the card before adding the flowers, Burlap Trim and sentiment. The final touch I’ve added tiny Gold Foil flowers and the antique bronze leaf.

All of the Stampin’ Up! products that I’ve used in these projects will be listed at the end of the blog post and are available at my online store.

Be sure to visit everyone’s blog and see what others have created for the month of February. Make sure you come back next month for more inspiration and see our creations.

Now it’s time to head on over to Kerstin Kreuzer on the Design Team and to see her creation.

Thank you for stopping by!
