Creation Station Blog Hop Inspired by Water

Hello and welcome

My name is Vicki Boucher and I am from Melbourne, Australia. This is the latest hop with the design team at Creation Station, if you have come from Martin Stone who is from the UK or you may of started with me. Please make sure you hop around and see everyone's amazing projects. I'll pop a link at the end of my blog to hop around....

The design team at Creation Station are presenting their projects with the theme "Inspired by Water" which can be anything to do with water, so I decided to go with watercolour for my three projects.

I just love to watercolour and try out different colour combinations. I like to use the large flat brush Water Painter with lots of water in a bowl, either Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper or Shimmery White Cardstock and paper towel. I usually use a large Clear Block, add coloured ink to the block and a little water to the ink with the brush and dab off onto the paper towel before applying to the watercolor paper.

The colours I've used are based on For Everything Fancy Sequins which is loose sequins, pearls and rhinestones they come in 3 containers in the following colour groups - blue, green and pink (my favourite).

Green Thank You Card

I just love the new In Color Parakeet Party mixed with Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay. I started off with Parakeet Party for the watercolour wash background then Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay. I used the Heat Tool to push the liquid around on the Watercolor Paper.

The wreath is from the Natural Prints Dies die-cut out using Watercolor Paper then applied with the same colours as the background.

To create the flower I inked up Sponge Daubers and applied ink to the flower image stamp strating off with Parakeet Party, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay. I lightly coloured in the flower using Coastal Cabana Watercolor Pencil.

The sentiment is from Nature's Prints stamp set and I inked up the stamp using the three colours with Sponge Daubers.

Pink Hello There Card

The pink sequins are just gorgeous to use, so I went with Polished Pink, Pale Papaya and Poppy Parade for my second card. I went with a light background wash to make the sunflower stand out.

I haven't used the sunflower die in awhile and I wanted all of the pieces to stay together, so I just ran it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine once only and added Tear & Tape to the back of the sunflower. I also did the same with the leaf.

The Sentiment is from the Nature's Prints using the same technique with the Sponge Daubers and coloured inks.

Blue Mind and Heart Card

The colours I've for my last card are Balmy Blue, Fresh Freesia and Orchid Oasis for the watercolor wash background panel and I used the large flower die from the Artistic Dies die-cut out in watercolor paper. I like to mix up the colours to see a variation in color is always fun!

The sentiment is from Good Feelings stamp set and I've sponged the three colors onto the stamp with the Sponge Daubers. I randomly added the sequins to the card with Fine Tip Glue Pen and then I leave them to dry.
