Week 15 Art With Heart Colour Creations Weekly Showcase Early Espresso

Hello and welcome to Week 15 with the Art With Heart Colour Creations Weekly Showcase. Which the lovely Catherine Proctor is running our weekly blog and with a selection of other Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from the Art With Heart Team.

This week we are featuring Early Espresso in our projects. Early Espresso is part of the Neutrals Collection and comes in a range of Stampin' Up! products such as the Classic Stampin' Pad, Cardstock, DSP and more.

Today's card is a fun spooky card for Halloween using the Have a Hoot Bundle, Life is Beautiful Stamp Set and Plaid Tidings DSP. All three products are from the August to December Mini Stampin' Up! Catalogue.

The colours I've used are based from the Plaid Tidings DSP for my project. As I wanted to save on the use of the DSP, so I've cut two thinner strips and adhere the pieces onto the Early Espresso Cardstock card base as shown above.

I've used the Ink Blending technique with coloured ink, a panel of Whisper White Cardstock, Stamping Sponges and Sponge Daubers. The colours used are starting with Bumblebee, Pumpkin Pie, Cinnamon Cider and finishing off with Early Espresso. I like to go over the colours a couple of times and to make sure the ink has blended in well.

Life is Beautiful Stamp Set

The stamped image of the tree is from the Life is Beautiful Stamp Set and stamped in Early Espresso Ink. I decided to leave the tree bare for a spooky effect.

Have a Hoot Bundle

I love the images from the Have a Hoot Stamp Set they are so cute! I've stamped the owl peeking over the cape in Early Espresso Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and coloured in using the Stampin' Blends.

The colours are Crumb Cake, Cinnamon Cider, Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie for the eyes. As there isn't any Blends in Early Espresso, I've used the combination of the Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker, Early Espresso Ink with the Blender Pen and a Sponge Dauber for the cape.

The Peek-A-Hoot Dies coordinates with the Have a Hoot Stamp Set, no fussy cutting required here. The shadow for the owl is actually for the tree and I think it suits it well. The sentiments are stamped directly onto the card in Early Espresso Ink.

Well it's great to be back into creating my projects for the Colour Creations Weekly Showcase and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's projects.
