Stamping Sunday Blog Hop - Nurture Nature

 Hello and welcome,

It's Stamping 2nd Sunday latest blog hop for February and for this month the design team will be showcasing the theme 'Nurture Nature' in our projects. Make sure you click on the list of participants which will be at the end of this blog.

There are lots of different types of Stampin' Up! products when it comes to nature and I've been wanting to use the Dainty Delight Stamp Set which is from the Mini Catalogue 2023. I just love the delicate detail of the line drawing images. The sentiments are beautiful and powerful meanings such as hope, thank you, celebration and more. But I have my mum's and mother in-law's birthdays coming up soon and I wanted to send them a birthday card, so I've used the Something Fancy Stamp Set for the sentiment.

I used the emboss resist technique for the stamped images onto Basic White Cardstock panel, I've used Parakeet Party Ink with the Blending Brush for this card.

Step-by-Step Emboss Resist Technique

  • Rub Embossing Buddy over the entire piece of cardstock this removes the static cling
  • Ink stamp with Versamark Ink and stamp on cardstock
  • Pour white embossing powder over stamped images, making sure everything is covered
  • Tap excess powder off..., I like to use a paint brush.
  • Heat Powder with Heat Tool until it melts into a shiny look
  • Add ink with Blending Brush

Then using the Stampin' Blends to colour in the delicate details in the following colours; Light Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Polished Pink, Granny Apple Green, and Tahitian Tide.

The letters are from Alphabet A La Mode Dies using Tahitian Tide In Color 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper and Foam Adhesive Sheets which makes the letters pop up from the card. Peel off one side of the release paper and add the Designer Series Paper. Place the die on top, run it through the Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine, then peel off the back of the release paper and place onto the panel. I like to use Take Your Pick Tool the sharp pointy end when adding the lettering.

To finish off the card I added Embellishments using Brushed Brass Butterflies, Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels and For Everything Fancy Sequins. I popped a Tahitian Tide Baker's Twine Bow under the sentiment.

For the second card I changed the direction of the stamped images by changing it to landscape and I used the other delicate images with the same emboss resist technique. This time I went with Tahitian Tide ink and applied ink with the Blending Brush.

Then I coloured in the delicate details using Stampin' Blends in the following colours: Light & Dark Tahitian Tide, Light Fresh Freesia, Orchid Oasis, Highland Heather and Granny Apple Green.

The letters for the second card, I've created an ombre look using a Blending Brush and a strip of Basic White Cardstock. To create this look, use Tahitian Tide ink and apply with the Blending Brush. The idea is to start at the bottom of the cardstock and reapply the ink gradually leaving white space at the top. Then die-cut out the letters as above for the first card.

To finish off this card I added a few of the For Everything Fancy Sequins and Tahitian Tide Baker's Twine. The card base is Tahitian Tide which complements the soft blues in the card.

  1. So pretty and delicate Vicki ... it is very very difficult to choose between the two, but I think the ombre'd "MUM" tips me over the edge for the blue one. Love them both. xxx
