Heart of Christmas Blog Hop - Week 4

Hello and welcome my friends,

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today, I'll be sharing with you my first Christmas card for the year with the team from Art With Heart in Australia and we are now onto week 4.

The Heart of Christmas blog hop will be on Monday at 8pm each week until November 25th. I'm so excited to see everyone's beautiful creations, so make sure you hop around. The link for the next person will be at the end of my blog.

Here's my card for tonight's hop, I've used the new Painted Trees 3D Embossing Folder (164026) which is located on page 25 of the Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue, I've combined it with the new Peaceful Season Bundle (164021) and Gold Textured Adhesive Backed Dots (164027). All of these Stampin' Up! products are part of the Season of Elegance Suite Collection and will be available early September 2024.

I created a fun technique that I discovered from Maheswari Rajaguru on the Stampin' Up! Facebook page last week I just had to try it out and it's called Double Embossing Technique.

Start with a panel of Basic White Cardstock and emboss it with the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder (162026). A great tip when embossing is to have the Stampin' Up! logo facing up to you when you emboss.

Next, use the Painted Trees 3D Embossing Folder to emboss the same piece of cardstock, giving you a clear raised image. This will give you the base for the wintery Christmas scene with lots of texture.

To create an ombre effect start with Boho Blue ink applied with the Blending Brush to the snowflake sky, next I added Misty Moonlight to the trees and followed by Night of Navy to finish off the ombre effect.

The sentiment is from Peaceful Season stamp set, heat embossed using Gold Embossing Powder and die-cut out using the Peaceful Season label die. The word Christmas is die-cut out using Gold Foil (I'm so glad it came back!) and layered over Basic White Cardstock.

I really like blue and gold together, so I had to use the Night of Navy Glittered Ribbon and place it under the word Christmas. I added a few of the Gold Textured Adhesive Backed Dots to finish off the card.

Thank you for visiting my blog today, I would so love to hear your thoughts on my project by leaving a comment below.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Blueberry Bushel

 Hello and welcome my friends,

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today, I'll be sharing with you another colour for Colour Creations blog hop and we are now at week 12 with the Art With Heart Team in Australia.

The next colour is Blueberry Bushel, which is part of the Regals range and it's such a pretty blue.  Blueberry Bushel comes in Cardstock, Classic Ink Pad, Ink Refill, Embellishments, Designer Series Paper and other Stampin' Up! products.

Today's card is a bit of a mish mash of Stampin' Up! products used together to create a unique card for a friend to say hello! I only used Blueberry Bushel and no other colour except Basic White Cardstock. I wanted to make this colour shine and standout against the white cardstock.

The list of products I've used are the following Flowers of Beauty Stamp Set and Dies, Simply Said Stamp Set, Unbounded Love Dies, Round We Go Dies and Friends for Life Dies. They are all in the current Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue for 2024-25.

I created a fun ombré pinwheel (using the Round We Go Dies) by adding Blueberry Bushel ink with the Blending Brush to a strip of cardstock (you will need two of these) and then use the pinwheel die to die-cut out two strips. They are easy to fold with your hands and then add Tombo Multipurpose Glue to the ends of the die-cut pinwheels. I like the depth of colour from the center and leading out to a pale blue.

To achieve a water colour look without using water try this idea. I stamped a number of blue flowers from the Flowers of Beauty Stamp Set in Blueberry Bushel, then colour the flowers in using the Blue Watercolour Pencil and then apply the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter brush to create a watercolour look with lots of glitter.

I just love the Friends for Life bundle, especially the Friends for Life Dies and you can make a variety of different combinations of sentiments. I just had to use the word 'Friend' from the dies and use it as a focal point, I like the freshness of white against the ombre background. I used the 'hello' greeting from the Simply Said Stamp Set and die-cut it out using the stitched circle die from Unbounded Love Dies.

The background panel is not just white, I applied Blueberry Bushel ink with the Blending Brush to give it some colour and I also added some splatter by tapping Blueberry Bushel Stampin' Blend against the Bone Folder.

To finish off the card I added a few of the leaves and Blueberry Bushel Tinsel Gems.

Thank you for visiting my blog today, I would so love to hear your thoughts on my project by leaving a comment below.

Artisan Design Team - Creative Project - Merriest Trees Bundle

Hello! My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. Today I'm sharing two Christmas slimline card ideas using the lovely and versatile Merriest Trees Bundle and other Stampin' Up! products.

When it comes to creating my projects, I love to show a variety of different techniques and add lots of layers. Playing with different colour palettes is always fun! Slimline cards can add another dimension to your paper craft when using Stampin' Up! products.

Here are two magical Christmas cards made using non-traditional colours. I love to create and mix colours together using different tools. I'll add the product details at the end of my blog.

Spirit of the Season Slimline Christmas Card

For my first card I wanted to create a whimsical watercolour Christmas trees using Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and have fun mixing inks together.

Create unique watercolour trees by mixing ink with water, then apply sections of colour to Watercolor Paper using a large, flat, brush tip Water Painter. The colors I used are Boho Blue, Orchid Oasis and Blueberry Bushel. Move the ink around on the paper with the Heat Tool until dry. Use the Merriest Trees Dies to die cut several different tree sizes.

To add interest to the trees, use a Sponge Dauber and apply VersaMark Ink to the edges of the branches. Then, add white Stampin' Emboss Powder, brush off the excess with a brush, and heat set using the Heat Tool. I like to use the Stampin' Up! tweezers to hold onto smaller pieces of images, so I don't heat my fingers with the Heat Tool.

To decorate the trees, I used Soft Shimmer Paper in Bubble Bath, placed Adhesive Sheet to the back of the paper and then die-cut out the tree decorations and stars.

To add layers to the card, create background snow by tearing up two layers using Basic White Cardstock and add Boho Blue and Orchid Oasis ink using the Blending Brush.

Stamp the stars a number of times to the background panel using VersaMark Ink, add white Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. Then apply lightly using Boho Blue and Orchid Oasis Ink with the Blending Brush to the background panel.

Merry Christmas Slimline Card

For my second card I went for a nighttime scene using darker cardstock and inks. This created a totally different look to my first card.

Create two snow layers for the background by tearing up Basic White Cardstock with your fingers. Next, using a Blending Brush to create contrast and leaving some white space between each of the layers. This helps create a snow effect for your layers. The colours used are Orchid Oasis and Starry Sky inks.

Apply colour to the trees using a Sponge Dauber for smaller sections and Blending Brushes for larger areas. I used Orchid Oasis and Starry Sky inks. Leave some white space to create snow for each of the layers. Then, add water droplets to the trees by tapping the medium tip Water Painter against Paper Snips and set them with the Heat Tool.

To create the background trees, use Starry Sky ink and stamp two of the trees directly onto Orchid Oasis Cardstock slimline panel. The third tree stamp onto a scrap piece of Orchid Oasis Cardstock and then die-cut out using the second largest tree die from the Merriest Tree Dies.

To finish off the card, heat embossed the sentiment using VersaMark Ink, onto Orchid Oasis Cardstock, add white Stampin' Emboss Powder tap off excess and heat set with Heat Tool. Die-cut out tree using second largest tree die.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI151

 Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. Tonight, is the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI151 this photo was chosen by Cathy Pinchbeck. These colours are stunning together and I just love the inspiring photo used for the challenge.

The chosen colour combination for #CI151 is Petal Pink, Balmy Blue, Boho Blue and Pecan Pie. As well as the chosen colours you may also like to add Basic White, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory', 'Bronze' and 'Natural Tones' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Copper Clay instead of Pecan Pie .... you get the drift).

The challenge will run for almost 2 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 25th September 2023 details to follow at the end of my blog.

Here's my slimline Christmas card I used the Christmas Classics bundle which is in the new Stampin' Up! Sep-Dec 2023 Mini Catalogue. My first time using this bundle and I love it! I went with a soft look using these beautiful colours and one technique I really love to do is the emboss resist technique using White Stampin' Emboss Powder. I really like how the sentiment stands out against Boho Blue. Here I just added Boho Blue ink with the Blending Brush.

I used one of the fancy labels from the Christmas Classics Dies, die-cut a number of them in Basic White Cardstock and cut the label in half. This creates lots of interesting elements to form the card.

I've used this layout for my slimline cards many times now and I like to create one of the panels with coloured ink by applying Boho Blue ink with the Blending Brush. Starting at the edge and working over towards the other side of the panel and then I tear one side of the cardstock to expose the white paper.

Another fun way to add interest to your cards is adding White Stampin' Emboss Powder to the edges of the cardstock. I just simply run the VersaMark ink pad along the edges of the cardstock then apply White Stampin' Emboss Powder, brush off any excess that I don't want and heat set with the Heat Tool.

To finish off the card I added Clear Wink of Stella by taping the brush against the lid. I also hadn't used any Petal Pink on the card expect for the Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins, they are stunning in the pink and Balmy Blue.

I hope I've inspired you with the latest challenge and I do hope you'll join in. We so look forward to seeing a variety of projects using the challenge colours. Please ensure that your project is new and made specifically for this challenge.

Creation Station Blog Hop - Ombre Blending

Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. This is the latest hop with the design team at Creation Station, if you have come from Kathy Brown Kartak or you may have started with me. Please make sure you hop around and see everyone's amazing projects. I'll pop a link at the end of my blog.

The design team at Creation Station are presenting their projects with the theme "Ombre Blending" this was a fun challenge to do. I create two projects with this theme using a mix of different Stampin' Up! products.

When it comes to using the ombre technique for paper crafting I just love this technique. It's always fun to see how I can blend colours together. My usual go to are either Blending Brushes or Stampin' Blends. I like to mix similar colours together to achieve variation in colour.

Love You Card

Only just the other day I received my Artisan Stampin' Up! box of goodies and inside was the Autumn Leaves Stamp Set & Dies which is from the September to December 2023 Mini Catalogue. I die-cut out three Basic White leaves using the large leaf die and two smaller dies. I added the following colours to the larger leaf with the Blending Brush - Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape. For the smaller leaves I used Gorgeous Grape and Pretty Peacock.

I just couldn't resist those owls from the Bird's Eye View Stamp Set, stamped in Memento ink onto Basic White Cardstock and coloured in with the Stampin' Blends. I used Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather for the wings and Pool Party, Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock for the body. Those owls look so cute with the eyeglasses on them. These birds work well with the Stampin' Blends when it comes to colouring them in.

I used the Love For You Dies and created an ombre sentiment using Basic White Cardstock and adding Pretty Peacock ink to the cardstock with the Blending Brush. Then I die-cut the images out.

For the background I used the Lost Lagoon ombre paper from the Bright & Beautiful 6x6 Designer Series Paper and added another torn layer in the same colour. To finish off the card I added Iridescent Discs in Pool Party.

Birthday Wishes Card

As I was having so much fun with these cute owls, I just had to create another card! This time I went for a more feminine card using pretty colours. The die-cut leaves are in Pretty Peacock.

I used the Stampin' Blends to colour in the birds and books using Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather. Then I fussy cut them out with Paper Snips.

To create the sentiment, I added the following colours using a Blending Brush to Basic White Cardstock - Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape. I die-cut out the image with the Sending Dies and Foam Adhesive Sheets.

For the background layer I used Bubble Bath ombre paper from the Bright & Beautiful 6x6 Designer Series Paper and added another torn layer using the polka dots.

Other elements I've used are Bubble Bath Sheer Ribbon, heat embossed the sentiment which is from the Sending Smiles Stamp Set and White Iridescent Discs.

Colour INKspiration Challenge CI145

Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. Tonight, is the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI145 this photo was chosen by Cheryll Miller.

The chosen colour combination for #CI145 is Lemon Lime Twist, Tahitian Tide and Blueberry Bushel. As well as the chosen colours you may also like to add Basic White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Crumb Cake and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory', 'Bronze' and 'Natural Tones' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Parakeet Party instead of Lemon Lime Twist .... you get the drift).

The challenge will run for almost 2 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 26th June 2023 details to follow at the end of my blog.

I love these colours together and they go well with basic white. I haven't created a fun fold card in a while and I needed a birthday card for a friend's 50th, so this was a great opportunity to make one with the challenge colours.

I used my go to Cheerful Daisies bundle which I just love to use, it goes so well with Go To Greetings Stamp Set and the Alphabet A La Mode Dies. I also added the Countryside Corners Dies as a base layer for the daisies and sentiment.

To create the fun fold, I used Blueberry Bushel Cardstock cut as per normal size card for Australia see measurements below:

  • cut Blueberry Bushel Cardstock at 14.9 x 21cm
  • then score at 5.4, 8.4, 12.4 and 15.4cm use the Bone Folder when folding the along the score lines
  • cut two pieces of Basic White Cardstock at 14.4cm x 5cm each.
  • stamp images onto Basic White panel in the above mentioned colours. I always start with the larger image and work my way down to the smallest.
  • cut the middle piece in Basic White Cardstock at 14.4cm x 3.5cm
  • then add Tahitian Tide and Blueberry Bushel ink with the Blending Brush to create an ombre strip of cardstock.

The daisies layered over on the middle strip of cardstock are heat embossed by stamping the images in VersaMark onto Basic White Cardstock, then add White Stampin' Emboss Powder brush off any excess with a brush and heat set with the Heat Tool.

I added Tahitian Tide and Blueberry Bushel ink to the daisies with the Blending Brush. Then wipe off any ink with a tissue. Die cut out the daisies with the Cheerful Daisies Dies.

I created an ombre look for the numbers by adding ink with the Blending Brush to a strip of Basic White Cardstock. I like to use the Foam Adhesive Sheets with the Alphabet A La Mode Dies they give the numbers or letters just the right height.

The sentiment is from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set and stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink. Then I've layered it over a smaller label die from the Countryside Corners Dies in Tahitian Tide Cardstock. I added Blueberry Bushel ink with a Blending Brush to the edge of the cardstock to give it some contrast.

It's always fun to stamp on the back of the envelope so it matches the card.

I hope I've inspired you with the latest challenge and I do hope you'll join in. We so look forward to seeing a variety of projects using the challenge colours. Please ensure that your project is new and made specifically for this challenge.
