Hello and welcome,
Welcome
to another Art With Heart Blog Hop. This month we are featuring Stampin' Up's!
versatile range of Embossing Folders. There are new Embossing Folders available
in every Stampin' Up! catalogue and they are an inexpensive way of adding WOW!
to your projects. Currently there are 24 different Embossing Folders in the
range.
Tonight
we plan on showing you lots of ideas on how to use these folders.
For best results when
using the Stampin' Up!'s 3D Embossing Folders; use the 3D Embossing Folder
Plate; it adds a little more oomph to your die sandwich to make those 3D
designs pop.
Tonight I will be sharing
with you two cards that I’ve created using the Swirls and Curls Embossing
Folder which is a standard Embossing Folder. This folder gives you a beautiful
instant snow like feel when you create a card for Christmas.
For both cards I’ve used
the same bundle Christmas Gleaming including the stamp set and punch pack. I
have also used the Beautiful Boughs Dies for the branch and the smaller label
die. Just by using different colours for your cards, you can get a totally different
look with the two cards.
The Night of Navy card is
combined with Copper Foil, Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and Celestial Copper
Delicata Ink. As per above photo, I’ve used a Stampin' Sponge with the Copper Ink and lightly swirled the
ink over the embossed cardstock which gave the card a different dimension and
colour to it.
The Smoky Slate, Whisper
White card is combined with Silver Foil, Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder, White
Stampin’ Emboss Powder and Frost White Shimmer Paint.
I’ve used the same technique
using a Stampin' Sponge with the Frost White Shimmer Paint which gives the card a
frosted shimmer look.
Which card do you prefer? The
Night of Navy with Copper or Whisper White/Smoky Slate with Sliver?

Vicki your cards are both absolutely stunning - I can't choose between them but if I have to I find the retrained elegance of the white and grey card so very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are gorgeous, Vicki. I like that you've shown us the same design in two colours.
ReplyDeleteBoth lovely cards, Vicki, and it's hard to choose between them, but maybe the White/Silver I find a little easier to see all the details.
ReplyDeleteSwirls and curls is a fabulous folder for Christmas, they are both lovely, with maybe a preference for navy from me.
ReplyDeleteFantastic cards Vicki! If asked to pick a favourite, I'd have to say the Silver and White as I just LOVE Silver and White together!
ReplyDeleteWhat stunning cards Vicki, the night of navy is just beautiful and the white and silver is just striking! What gorgeous colour combinations and the swirls and curls folder looks great!
ReplyDeleteStunning cards Vicki! The white is very elegant, but the copper and navy takes my breath away. Love all those layers too.
