Colour Creations Blog Hop - Summer Splash - Loveliest Tree

Hello and welcome my friends,

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today, I'll be sharing with you another colour for Colour Creations blog hop and it's week 5 with the Art With Heart Team in Australia. I missed out on the last two In Colors as I was away in Tasmania on holidays with my husband celebrating his 50th birthday.

The next colour is Summer Splash which is part of the In Color Collection for 2024 - 2026 Stampin' Up! sure know how to create some beautiful new colors for us to play with and they are here with us for the next two years. Now that's exciting!

All of the new In Colors come in a range of Stampin' Up! products such as ink, cardstock, ribbon, designer series paper, embellishments, Stampin' Blends and so on.

New colours means new Stampin' Up! products to try out from the new Stampin' Up! 2024 -2025 Annual Catalogue and I'll be showing you the Loveliest Tree bundle (163716) you can find it on pages 71 in the catalogue. This bundle has everything you need to make a beautiful card and there are handy sentiments for most occasions.

I think Summer Splash would have to be the prettiest new In Color for 2024-26 it goes so well with most colours. I created a masculine card with some water colouring which I haven't done in a while and the colours I've used to go with Summer Splash are Blueberry Bushel, Old Olive, Wild Wheat and Copper Clay.

To make the tree I used Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, wide tip Water Painter and the above mentioned inks. I like to apply water to the watercolor paper first then try out different colour combinations and mix them together, if there is too much water or runny ink, I will use the Heat Tool to dry up the ink or blot it with a tissue. I used the dies for the tree from the Loveliest Tree dies and die-cut out the images.

I created the watercolour background using a half sheet of Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper, wide tip Water Painter for the sky I used Summer Splash and Blueberry Bushel and for the grass I used Old Olive and Wild Wheat.

Other elements I added to the card are detailed leaves dies from Unbounded Love Dies and I placed it under the sentiment with Summer Splash Bordered Ribbon. I used Basic Beige cardstock panel and embossed it with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder then placed it over Summer Splash card base.

Color INKspiration Challenge #CI166

Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. Tonight, is the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI166 this photo was chosen by Colour INKspiration Crew Member, Lou.

The chosen colour combination for #CI166 is Petunia Pop, Melon Mambo, Lemon Lime Twist and Summer Splash. As well as the chosen colours you may also like to add Basic White, Very Vanilla, Basic Beige, Crumb Cake, Basic Black and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory', 'Bronze' and 'Natural Tones' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Bermuda Bay instead of Summer Splash.... for example).

The challenge will run for almost 3 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 10th June 2024 details to follow at the end of my blog.

These bright happy colours are perfect for a fun card and I've used the Ice Cream Swirl Stamp Set and Ice Cream Swirl Dies for the colour challenge.

Earlier this year Alanna Wharf from the Artisan Stampin' Up! Design Team created a card using this bundle and she used Embossing Paste to create texture. She was such an enabler that I just had to give it a go and try it out for myself. Die-cut out the two pieces for the ice cream swirl in Basic White Cardstock and then apply the embossing paste with a spatula directly onto the ice cream swirl die-cut pieces in swirl motion, let the paste dry.

Then with the Sponge Dauber apply Summer Splash and Lemon Lime Twist inks directly onto the embossing paste. I like to leave some white embossing paste showing through to create more depth.

I used Summer Splash 2024-2026 In Color 6"x 6" Designer Series Paper throughout the card such as the cute cone wrapper for the ice cream and two stripe wafers hiding behind the strawberry.

What's an ice cream without lots of coloured sprinkles on top! I used the four challenge colours using cardstock by die-cutting out the detailed sprinkle die and layered them over the embossed ice cream swirl.

I hope I've inspired you with the latest challenge and I do hope you'll join in. We so look forward to seeing a variety of projects using the challenge colours. Please ensure that your project is new and made specifically for this challenge.

Challenge guidelines:

  • Create a NEW project made specifically for this challenge.
  • Use all of the challenge colours (or close substitutions) unless stated.
  • Upload only ONE picture per entry straight to the discussion wall and NOT in an album.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI166 will run until 7pm (ADET) on Monday 10th June 2024.

Colour INKspirationn Challenge #CI165

 Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. Tonight, is the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI165 this photo was chosen by Colour INKspiration Crew Member, Jan. This inspiration photo is stunning with those pink dahlia flowers.

The chosen colour combination for #CI165 is Petal Pink, Peach Pie and Shy Shamrock. As well as the chosen colours you may also like to add Basic White, Very Vanilla, Basic Beige, Crumb Cake, Basic Black and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory', 'Bronze' and 'Natural Tones' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Calypso Coral instead of Peach Pie.... for example).

The challenge will run for almost 2 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 20th May 2024 details to follow at the end of my blog.

These challenge colours say a flower card to me, but I wanted to do something different instead, so I used the Attention Shoppers bundle (163644) which includes the stamp set and coordinating dies. This is a new bundle in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue 2024-25 and I just love the line art drawings of the stamped images.

Attention Shoppers bundle (163644)

I stamped the images in Black Memento ink onto Basic White Cardstock and coloured the images in with the challenge colours Stampin' Blends.

Next, I die-cut out the images using the Attention Shoppers Dies. I also used Peach Pie In Color Shimmer Specialty Paper for the upper part of the trolley and Silver Foil for the lower part of the trolley.

I kept the card clean by adding a thin strip of Peach Pie In Color 6"x 6" Designer Series Paper (163777) and also as a base layer under Basic White Cardstock card front.

I hope I've inspired you with the latest challenge and I do hope you'll join in. We so look forward to seeing a variety of projects using the challenge colours. Please ensure that your project is new and made specifically for this challenge.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Petunia Pop - Thoughtful Wishes

Hello and welcome my friends,

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today, I'll be sharing with you the next colour for Colour Creations blog hop and it's Week 2 with the Art With Heart Team in Australia.

The next colour is Petunia Pop which is part of the In Color Collection for 2024 - 2026 Stampin' Up! sure know how to create some beautiful new colors for us to play with and they are here with us for the next two years. Now that's exciting!

All of the new In Colors come in a range of Stampin' Up! products such as ink, cardstock, ribbon, designer series paper, embellishments, Stampin' Blends and so on.

New colours means new Stampin' Up! products to try out from the new Stampin' Up! 2024 -2025 Annual Catalogue and I'll be showing you the Thoughtful Wishes bundle (163314) which is part of the Thoughtful Journey Suite Collection and you can find it on pages 46 to 47 in the catalogue.

Thoughtful Wishes bundle (163314)

The Thoughtful Wishes bundle includes the Thoughtful Wishes stamp set and Thoughtful Wishes dies. This is my first time using this bundle and I love it! Especially all of the delicate foliage pieces from the Thoughtful Wishes Dies and I decided to create an artfully avid card which I love to do.

When I first saw all of the In Colors for 2024 to 2026 Petunia Pop was at the top of my list with the In Colors. It's so pretty! I've used it with Bubble Bath and Crumb Cake which I really like this combination together.

I've die-cut out a number of images from Thoughtful Wishes Dies using Bubble Bath and Petunia Pop Cardstock. I also added Petunia Pop 2024-2026 In Color Glimmer Specialty Paper (163771) and used the delicate die to add some sparkle to my card. To change the image up, I simply used the Paper Snips to cut the image in half before layering it over the other images.

For extra bling, I added some of the leftover Petunia Pop glimmer die-cut pieces from the delicate die and placed them under the daisy.

This layout is a favourite of mine which I've used in my cards in the past and I do like to CASE my own cards when I'm short for time in card making. I used a half strip of Crumb Cake Cardstock, stamped the splattered stamp image a number of times in Petunia Pop ink onto the strip and lightly added Petunia Pop ink to the edge of the cardstock with the Blending Brush. Next, I tore the edge of the cardstock by using my fingers to expose some of the Crumb Cake cardstock and for some added texture.

I wanted a large flower image, so I decided to go to my all-time favourite Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set and stamp the large daisy in Petunia Pop onto Bubble Bath cardstock and then die-cut out the daisy. I was so happy to see this stamp set and dies carried over into the new Stampin' Up! catalogue.

I added lots of threads from the Petunia Pop Bordered Ribbon (163785) to give the card some fun details and tied a bow using Linen Thread to finish off the card.

Creation Station Blog Hop - Up in the Air

Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. This is the latest hop with the design team at Creation Station, if you have come from Kim Fee or you may have started with me. Please make sure you hop around and see everyone's amazing projects. I'll pop a link at the end of my blog.

The design team at Creation Station are presenting their projects with the theme "Up in the Air" which we can focus our projects on birds, or airplanes, or hot air balloons, or clouds and rainbows. I decided to go with birds for my project and went with Country Birdhouse bundle (163401) which is part of the Country Woods Suite Collection (163418) it's in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue for 2024-25 and is on page 48-51. I love everything about this suite including the gorgeous Designer Series Paper and embellishments.

Country Birdhouse bundle (163401)

The Country Birdhouse bundle includes the Country Birdhouse stamp set and Country Birdhouse dies. When I saw this bundle in the catalogue, I knew I had to have it because of how cute the birdhouse is and I just couldn't wait to start using it. I love the line art stamped images and using the Stampin' Blends is always fun to colour in the images.

I stamped the images in Basic Gray ink onto Basic White Cardstock then using the following colours Petal Pink, Balmy Blue, Smoky Slate, Peacan Pie and Color Lifter. I wanted to keep most of the birdhouse white and only colour in parts of the house.

I used the circle die to die-cut out the round window and placed one of the birds peeking out of the hole. I layered a scrap of Basic Black cardstock behind the bird to give the impression that it's dark inside the house.

There are some beautiful images in the stamp set such as the flowers and of course the bird image as well. All images can be die-cut out with the dies, so no fussy cutting needed. There are also lots of different detailed dies to form the birdhouse which gives you every element, including roofs and a variety of flowers.

The layout of the birdhouse is placed over a pretty blue-sky background, I added Balmy Blue ink with the Blending Brush to the Basic White Cardstock. The sentiment is stamped in Basic Gray ink and layered over the bird stand. To finish off the card I added a few of the Smoky Slate Pearls (163416).

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Peach Pie - Country Flowers

 Hello and welcome my friends,

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today, I'll be sharing with you the first colour for Colour Creations blog hop and it's Week 1 with the Art With Heart Team in Australia. It's been a while since my last Colour Creation and I'm so excited to be back here again.

The first colour is Peach Pie which is part of the In Color Collection for 2024 - 2026 Stampin' Up! sure know how to create some beautiful new colors for us to play with and they are here with us for the next two years. Now that's exciting!

All of the new In Colors come in a range of Stampin' Up! products such as ink, cardstock, ribbon, designer series paper, embellishments, Stampin' Blends and so on.

New colours means new Stampin' Up! products to try out from the new Stampin' Up! 2024 -2025 Annual Catalogue and I'll be showing you the Country Flowers bundle (163411) which is part of the Country Woods Suite Collection and you can find it on pages 48 to 51 in the catalogue.

Country Flowers bundle (163411)

The Country Flowers bundle includes the Country Flowers stamp set and Country Flowers dies. I've been using this bundle now for a couple of my projects and I love it! The stamp images of bunches of flowers, cute flowerpots and a variety of different sentiments for your card making and paper craft.

I stamped the images using Basic Gray ink onto Basic White cardstock and coloured in the images using Stampin' Blends in Peach Pie, Smoky Slate and Lost Lagoon. I like to leave white space to create depth when colouring in the images. I also added detailed die-cut images to the background of the coloured in flowers and a couple of fallen leaves to add interest.

I wanted to add Peach Pie Glimmer Paper which is from the 2024-26 In Color Glimmer 12" x 12" Specialty Paper (163771) to my card, so I used the scissors die image from the Crafting With You Dies (161225) for some detailed bling! I thought this was lots of fun to my card.

To create the sentiment, I actually combined two words together from two different sentiments and stamped them in Basic Gray ink onto Peach Pie paper from the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper (163372). I also used this same Peach Pie paper and layered it under the embossed Basic White cardstock.

Then I die-cut out using one of the smaller circular dies from the Spotlight on Nature Dies (163580).

To finish off the card I created a cute bow using Peach Pie Bordered Ribbon (163783) by pulling away fine strands from the ribbon and tying it into a delicate bow.

Thank you for visiting my blog today, I would so love to hear your thoughts on my project by leaving a comment below.
