Colour Creations Blog Hop - Petunia Pop - Thoughtful Wishes

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today, I'll be sharing with you the next colour for Colour Creations blog hop and it's Week 2 with the Art With Heart Team in Australia. 

The next colour is Petunia Pop which is part of the In Color Collection for 2024 - 2026 Stampin' Up! sure know how to create some beautiful new colors for us to play with and they are here with us for the next two years. Now that's exciting!

All of the new In Colors come in a range of Stampin' Up! products such as ink, cardstock, ribbon, designer series paper, embellishments, Stampin' Blends and so on.

New colours means new Stampin' Up! products to try out from the new Stampin' Up! 2024 -2025 Annual Catalogue and I'll be showing you the Thoughtful Wishes bundle (163314) which is part of the Thoughtful Journey Suite Collection and you can find it on pages 46 to 47 in the catalogue. 

Thoughtful Wishes bundle (163314)

The Thoughtful Wishes bundle includes the Thoughtful Wishes stamp set and Thoughtful Wishes dies. This is my first time using this bundle and I love it! Especially all of the delicate foliage pieces from the Thoughtful Wishes Dies and I decided to create an artfully avid card which I love to do.

When I first saw all of the In Colors for 2024 to 2026 Petunia Pop was at the top of my list with the In Colors. It's so pretty! I've used it with Bubble Bath and Crumb Cake which I really like this combination together. 

I've die-cut out a number of images from Thoughtful Wishes Dies using Bubble Bath and Petunia Pop Cardstock. I also added Petunia Pop 2024-2026 In Color Glimmer Specialty Paper (163771) and used the delicate die to add some sparkle to my card. To change the image up, I simply used the Paper Snips to cut the image in half before layering it over the other images.

For extra bling, I added some of the leftover Petunia Pop glimmer die-cut pieces from the delicate die and placed them under the daisy. 

This layout is a favourite of mine which I've used in my cards in the past and I do like to CASE my own cards when I'm short for time in card making. I used a half strip of Crumb Cake Cardstock, stamped the splattered stamp image a number of times in Petunia Pop ink onto the strip and lightly added Petunia Pop ink to the edge of the cardstock with the Blending Brush. Next, I tore the edge of the cardstock by using my fingers to expose some of the Crumb Cake cardstock and for some added texture.

I wanted a large flower image, so I decided to go to my all-time favourite Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set and stamp the large daisy in Petunia Pop onto Bubble Bath cardstock and then die-cut out the daisy. I was so happy to see this stamp set and dies carried over into the new Stampin' Up! catalogue.

I added lots of threads from the Petunia Pop Bordered Ribbon (163785) to give the card some fun details and tied a bow using Linen Thread to finish off the card.

Artisan Design Team - Les Shoppes Suite Collection

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today, I'll be sharing with you two projects I created for Stampin' Up! earlier this month for my Monthly Artisan Assignment using the Les Shoppes Suite Collection which was shared on Stampin' Up! socials. Les Shoppes Suite Collection

The Les Shoppes Suite Collection (161337) is in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue 2023-24 and is on page 30 of the catalogue. The collection includes Let's Go Shopping Bundle - Photopolymer Stamp Set & Dies (161333), Les Shoppes 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (161322) and Loose Silver Sequins (161626). For the month of June 2023 a selection of Designer Series Paper is on sale now and the Les Shoppes is one of them. More details below.

Here are my two projects that I have created using the Les Shoppes Suite Collection.

Hello Shoppes Card

I used the Les Shoppes 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper for most of my card and very little stamping at all. I've fussy cut out the buildings and layered them over background DSP. The cobble stone foot path has been coloured in using Misty Moonlight ink with the Blending Brush.

I just love all of the different pieces of dies you can use to create a scene for your shop. My favoutite would have to be the bench set and street lamp which fits perfectly behind the background design pattern of the DSP.

I wanted my shop to be a plant shop so added a few of the die-cut plant images to create plants hanging on the shop front. I also added a few of the Loose Silver Sequins to the green die-cut plants. They look like fairy lights and I could imagine them lighting up at nighttime.

I popped a few stamped potted plants behind the shop. I used Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends by added interest to create depth to the pots and Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blend to colour in the plants.

Bakery Shoppes Card

This was a fun card to create and I so could eat some of those delicious treats from the bakery. I wanted to keep most of the card in a black & white format and only focus on the sweats in colour. Plus, the striped Designer Series Paper in Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo.

The bakery shop front is heat embossed by stamping the images in VersaMark onto Basic Black Cardstock, White Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. 

The shop window has been die-cut out using the window die and then I placed the coloured treats behind the shop. The awning is created by using die-cuts in Basic Black & Basic White Cardstock from the Let's Go Shopping Dies.

I've layered the bakery over Basic Black gift tag and black & white stamped background panel. 

To create the stamped panel, I used Stazon Black ink as I found it was better than Memento Black ink. I used most of the sentiments from the stamp set and the sweats, pot plant and shop sign. I stamped them free hand and in random places until there was no more room left, but still leave some white space.

Creation Station May Blog Hop: Dots & Spots

The design team at Creation Station are presenting their projects with the theme "Dots & Spots" this was a fun challenge to do. I had the opportunity to create two projects with this theme using different Stampin' Up! products which in some form have either dots or spots.

Happy Birthday Card

For my first card I was inspired by Madeleine Mrotzek I saw her card on her Instagram account @stempelschick and I just had to try this fun layering effect using the paper garland from the Beautiful Balloons Dies. 

To create this rainbow ruffled layered effect, I combined strips 4cm x 9.9cm using the polka dots from the Subtles 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper and Vellum Basics 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper just add a little of Multipurpose Glue at the top of each layer. The softness of the Vellum Basics polka dots paper makes the Subtles Designer Series Paper even better and softer looking when you combine the two together. The colours from the top are Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, Balmy Blue, Pool Party, Soft Seafoam, Lemon Lolly and Petal Pink.

When I'm creating my projects sometimes, I like to use my sewing machine and do some stitching. Here I just did some stitching along at the top of the ruffled layered panel this will hide any adhesive if needed. 

I've used the variety of different sized balloon tools from the Beautiful Balloons Dies and die-cut out using the same Subtles 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper in Fresh Freesia, Soft Seafoam, Lemon Lolly and Bubble Bath. The fifth balloon is stamped in Fresh Freesia ink onto Fresh Freesia Cardstock and the sentiment is stamped in Highland Heather. 

To finish off the card I used the Dots & Spots Die and die-cut in the following colours Bubble Bath, Lemon Lolly and Balmy Blue.

 

Celebration Card

As I was creating my first card, I started to create this second card, using similar colours and products. To create the background panel, I used Bubble Bath Cardstock, layered a strip of Basic White Cardstock cut at 4.2cm x 14.4cm, die-cut out using the Dots & Spots Die and on the other side a strip of polka dots in Vellum Basics 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper cut at 5.8cm x 14.4cm. To hide the two pieces of paper I added Bubble Bath Sheer Ribbon to the panel.

I've used the Beautiful Balloons Dies again, die-cut out three balloons in Fresh Freesia, Lemon Lolly and Bubble Bath to form my card. As I had so many tiny white dots left over from the Dots & Spots Die I added them to create cute polka dot balloons. I also added more coloured dots to the card in the same colours as the balloons.

To finish off the card I layered the sentiment over the Bubble Bath balloon, tied a bow using Silver Elegant Trim and added some loose Bubble Bath Sheer Ribbon thread left over from another project.

Creation Station Blog Hop - Ink Blending

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. This is the latest hop with the design team at Creation Station, if you have come from Sara Langland or you may have started with me. The design team at Creation Station are presenting their projects with the theme "Ink Blending" this would have to be one of my favourite ways to use inks and trying out different techniques.

The Stampin' Up! products I've used for both cards are Artistically Inked Stamp Set, Artistic Dies, True Beauty Stamp Set and Organic Beauty Dies. The colours are shades of blues and purples which I just love and trying out different combinations is always fun!

To create these images, use the Stamparatus with Basic White Cardstock, ink pads and Blending Brushes. First use the ink pad in a lighter colour this way you can add more colours to the stamp as you go. Then with the Blending Brush add another colour and when you just want a little bit of colour I used the Mini Blending Brushes. You have more control. 

Here I've used Tahitian Tide, Orchid Oasis and a little of Starry Sky Inks for the top images and Fresh Freesia, Gorgeous Grape and Orchid Oasis Inks for the bottom row.

Now for the inked-up background panel this is something I haven't done before, but I was reading a tutorial from Tami Hewlett where she created this background layer using Basic White Cardstock, ink with Blending Brushes and splatter water droplets onto the cardstock. I've only ever used Shimmery White Cardstock and I was so surprised that it worked! I just love it and I created two panels. 

The colours I used for the blue slimline card are Tahitian Tide, Pacific Point, Orchid Oasis, Starry Sky and Night of Navy. I started with the lighter colour and worked my way through until I blended all of the colours together. Then I dipped my fingers into a bowl of water and flicked the water onto the inked-up panel. I really like how it worked against the darker colours. The higher you flick the water the smaller the droplets will be. 

For the leaves both stamped and delicate die-cut leaves I used Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay. The sentiment is heat embossed and I added Pastel Sequins in Balmy Blue.

The colours for the second card background panel are Tahitian Tide, Fresh Freesia, Orchid Oasis, Gorgeous Grape and Starry Sky. I used the same technique again with the water droplets and flicked the water onto the inked-up Cardstock. I also used the Heat Tool to dry them up quickly.

The colours for the detailed die-cut piece under the flowers are Night of Navy, Starry Sky, Orchid Oasis, Pacific Point and Tahitian Tide. I added the colours using the Blending Brush and applied the inks onto Basic White Cardstock and then die-cut the image out. For the leaves I used the Stamparatus and applied Orchid Oasis and Starry Sky with the Blending Brush to create a soft colour.

I added Pastel Sequins in Petal Pink and for some of them I coloured them in using Fresh Freesia Stampin' Blend.

Stampin' Fancy Friday - Sketch Challenge

 Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today I'll be sharing with you a fun sketch challenge for Stampin' Fancy Friday. The design team were asked to create a fancy project using the sketch provided. 

A sketch challenge is a huge time saver when it comes to card making and I love this layout. I went for a shabby chic look using pretty paper and I distressed the edges of the paper with Paper Snips. 

The products I've used are Sentimental Park Bundle and Regency Park Designer Series Paper the paper is stunning and I love the colours too! They are in the Stampin' Up! Jan to April 2023 Mini Catalogue.

Stating with Night of Navy Cardstock for the card base, I stamped the flower images directly onto the card using Night of Navy Ink. Then I added layers of Regency Park Designer Series Paper, followed by die-cut images from Sentimental Park Dies in Night of Navy and Basic White Cardstock. There are so many pretty detailed dies to create with!

I finished off the card using the Something Fancy Stamp Set for the sentiment. Tied a bow using White Baker's Twine and added a few Polished Dots embellishments.

Stamping Sunday Blog Hop - Love is.....

It's Stamping 2nd Sunday latest blog hop for January and for this month the design team will be showcasing the theme 'Love is...' in our projects. Make sure you click on the list of participants which will be at the end of this blog. 

Well, can I just say how much I love the new Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue for 2023! I've used just one of my favourite bundles in the catalogue. I just love ice creams, milkshakes or a sundae! Especially in summertime. How many scoops do you love to have? 

Share a Milkshake Bundle (160396)

Today, I'll be sharing with you two projects and turning them into two fun cards using the Share a Milkshake bundle which is located on page 12 in the latest Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue. When I saw this bundle, it was on the top of my wish list.

Milkshake Card

To create this card, I wanted to use the Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper and those stripes reminded me of those cute straws from the Share a Milkshake stamp set. I do love stripe paper. I layered over the DSP using Shimmery White Cardstock panel, I then added a Sweet Sorbet watercolor wash, stamped the cherries and sentiment in Sweet Sorbet ink.

I used Tahitian Tide Glimmer Paper and die-cut out using the circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies. The stamp image of the milkshake is in Tahitian Tide which I love with Sweet Sorbet they go so well together. 

A great tip is I love to create lots of watercolor washes onto Shimmery White Cardstock and then die-cut out lots of images such as the scoops of ice cream and hearts. Then I like to play with them on my card and see how I want to layer them up.

Ice Cream Heart Card

To create my second card, I used Balmy Blue Cardstock with Tahitian Tide hearts stamped onto the panel and adding more Tahitian Tide ink to the background with the Blending Brush. Next, I added two detailed waffles to the background, one in Kraft paper and the other in Tahitian Tide watercolor wash onto Shimmery White Cardstock.

When I was creating this ice cream card, I was only going to do one ice cream, but then I thought two are always better than one! As I placed them onto the card, they formed a cute heart made out of waffles. I used the Kraft paper for one of the cones and a Sweet Sorbet watercolor wash for the pink cone. Then I added lots of ice creams scoops in Sweet Sorbet, Balmy Blue, Tahitian Tide and Kraft paper. 

I added a silver spoon made out of Silver Foil, Tahitian Tide Cherry, Sweet Sorbet heart, Tahitian Tide Baker's Twine and the sentiment stamped in Tahitian Tide ink.
