Colour Creations Blog Hop - Coastal Cabana

Hello and welcome my friends,

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today, I'll be sharing with you another colour for Colour Creations blog hop and we are now at week 18 with the Art With Heart Team in Australia.

The next colour is Coastal Cabana, which is part of the Brights Collection and I've made two Father's Day cards using this colour. Coastal Cabana comes in Cardstock, Classic Ink Pad, Ink Refill, Embellishments, Designer Series Paper and other Stampin' Up! products.

I made two cards for Father's Day which just happens to be this coming Sunday in Australia, one of them for my father and the other I made for the kids to give to their dad. Today's cards are simple and quick. I've used the Online Exclusive Changing Leaves Stamp Set and besides Coastal Cabana I also added Summer Splash for my colours.

First Card

For my first card I used Basic White Cardstock, stamped the larger leaf image from the stamp set using Coastal Cabana and randomly stamping the leaves a number of times. Then I created an ombre effect with the two colours and used the Blending Brush to add the ink onto the panel.

I used the Alphabet A La Mode Dies for the ombre DAD and used Foam Adhesive Sheets for some height. To finish off the card I used the Beside Me Stamp Set for the greeting and stamped directly onto the white panel. The card base is Basic White Cardstock.

Second Card

For my second card I created a water colour wash using Fluid 100 Watercolour paper, heat embossed the same large leaves image again, but this time only stamped the image twice and then adding White Embossing Powder. Then heat set with the Heat Tool.

Once I let the embossing cool down, I then added water with the large flat tip paint brush, next I used Coastal Cabana and Summer Splash ink for a soft look. I used an old Coastal Cabana Marker pen and splattered ink over the leaves.

I used the same sentiment from the Beside Me Stamp Set for the greeting and die-cut it out using one of the labels dies from the Unbounded Love Dies. The card base is Coastal Cabana Cardstock.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI172

 Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. Tonight, is the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI172 this photo was chosen by Colour INKspiration Crew Member, Monica Formosa.

The chosen colour combination for #CI172 is Peach Pie, Garden Green and Pebbled Path. As well as the chosen colours you may also like to add Basic White, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Basic Beige, Crumb Cake and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory', 'Bronze' and 'Natural Tones' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Basice Gray instead of Pebbled Path .... for example).

The challenge will run for almost 2 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 9th September 2024 details to follow at the end of my blog.

Today I decided to CASE myself using a card that I made a few years ago for a Colour INKspiration Challenge using similar colours and a white background. I used the Cheerful Daisies bundle which I just love so much!

I stamped the large daisy in Pebbled Path ink onto Basic White Cardstock and coloured it in using Peach Pie Stampin' Blends. I used the other two daisies from the Cheerful Daisies Dies, die-cut out Basic White Cardstock and added Peach Pie ink with the Mini Blending Brush. I did the same with the detailed leaf die and added Garden Green ink.

I just had to combine the daisies with the Changing Leaves Dies and use the detailed leaves die for some added interest I applied Garden Green ink to the leaf to create an ombre effect.

Some of the elements I've used are retired from a long time ago which I just found recently when going through my crafty stash. It's a good idea to use your stash!

To finish off the card I added Peach Pie Bordered Ribbon and Peach Pie Resin Dots to the card.

I hope I've inspired you with the latest challenge and I do hope you'll join in. We so look forward to seeing a variety of projects using the challenge colours. Please ensure that your project is new and made specifically for this challenge.

Challenge guidelines:

  • Create a NEW project made specifically for this challenge.
  • Use all of the challenge colours (or close substitutions) unless stated.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI171

 Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. Tonight, is the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI171 this photo was chosen by Colour INKspiration Crew Member, Vicki that's me!

The chosen colour combination for #CI171 is Pretty In Pink, Berry Burst, Blackberry Bliss and Summer Splash. As well as the chosen colours you may also like to add Basic White, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Basic Beige, Crumb Cake and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory', 'Bronze' and 'Natural Tones' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Bubble Bath instead of Pretty In Pink.... for example).

The challenge will run for almost 2 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 26th August 2024 details to follow at the end of my blog.

The challenge colours are so pretty together and I just love the photo it's very vintage. For my card I used the online exclusive Changing Leaves Bundle which includes the stamp set, dies and also the Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder which I just love!

I went for a subtle look with the challenge colours starting with a panel of Basic White Cardstock and embossed it using the Changing Leaves embossing folder. Next, I added colour to the embossed panel using Pretty In Pink, Berry Burst and Blackberry Bliss inks and applied them using the Blending Brush.

The Changing Leaves Stamp Set has a variety of different leaves images, I used the two smaller images and heat embossed them onto Basic White Cardstock. Then I used the emboss resist technique by adding colour with the Blending Brush to the stamped images. I wipe away the excess ink with a tissue. Next, I used the Changing Leaves Dies and the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine to die-cut the images.

There are also detailed leaves dies which I've used for my card. I used the challenge colours by applying ink with the Blending Brush to Basic White Cardstock and leaving some white space for an ombre look.

The sentiment is from the Changing Leaves Stamp Set, stamped in Blackberry Bliss onto Basic White Cardstock and then die-cut out using the label die from the Changing Leaves Dies.

I had some leftover Pretty In Pink ribbon which was from a previous card, so I used it to make a bow and I added a few Pretty In Pink Resin Dots to finish off the card.

I hope I've inspired you with the latest challenge and I do hope you'll join in. We so look forward to seeing a variety of projects using the challenge colours. Please ensure that your project is new and made specifically for this challenge.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI167

 Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. Tonight, is the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI167 this photo was chosen by Colour INKspiration Crew Member, Bronwyn.

The chosen colour combination for #CI167 is Pretty in Pink, Basic White and Basic Black. As well as the chosen colours you may also like to add Very Vanilla, Basic Beige, Crumb Cake and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory', 'Bronze' and 'Natural Tones' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Bubble Bath instead of Pretty in Pink.... for example).

The challenge will run for almost 2 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 24th June 2024 details to follow at the end of my blog.

I just love this colour palette and the inspiration photo is gorgeous! Pretty in Pink was on top of the list when I first saw this new In Color, it's so much fun! I used Attention Shoppers bundle for my card and the circle die from the Spotlight on Nature dies is perfect to showcase the shopping bags in the trolley.

I used the paper piecing technique by stamping the gift bag image onto Pretty in Pink 2024-2026 In Color 6x6 Designer Series Paper and also on Basic White cardstock. Then I fussy cut out the images and added the white carry bag handles to the pretty pattern paper. To create the left gift bag, I drew pink polka dots using Pretty in Pink Stampin' Write Marker. The bags are full of gifts which was fun to do.

The inked up black and white background was using all of the smaller images and some of the sentiments onto Basic White cardstock panel leaving some white space in between the stamped images. On the other side of the stamped panel, I added a strip of Pretty in Pink In Color DSP and Pretty in Pink Bordered Ribbon.

I created a large pink bow by using Pretty in Pink Bordered Ribbon, to do this I use the Paper Snips and cut along the center of the ribbon until there's enough length to tie a bow. Losen the strands by gently pulling the strands away and then carefully tie into a bow. Tip, make sure you don't have any glue on your fingers or else the threads will stick to your fingers.

To finish off the card I heat embossed the sentiment and added a few of Pretty in Pink embellishments to the card.

I hope I've inspired you with the latest challenge and I do hope you'll join in. We so look forward to seeing a variety of projects using the challenge colours. Please ensure that your project is new and made specifically for this challenge.

Creation Station Blog Hop - In Color & Core Color

Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. This is the latest hop with the design team at Creation Station, if you have come from Teri West or you may have started with me. Please make sure you hop around and see everyone's amazing projects. I'll pop a link at the end of my blog.

The design team at Creation Station are presenting their projects with the theme "In Color & Core Color" we got to choose our favourite colour combination. Choose one new In Color and one core color, plus Basic White/Beige/Grey/Black. I decided to go with Petunia Pop which is a new In Color for 2024-2026 and Old Olive which is a beautiful green.

For my project I went with the Flower of Beauty (163376) and Unbounded Love (163384) bundles which are part of the Unbounded Beauty Suite Collection (163390) you can find them in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue for 2024-25 and is located on page 52-55. I love everything about this suite including the gorgeous Designer Series Paper, embellishments and I love that all of the new In Colors are featured in this suite.

The Flowers of Beauty bundle consist of the Flowers of Beauty stamp set and dies, I've stamped the images in Memento Ink onto Basic White cardstock and then coloured them in using Petunia Pop and Old Olive Stampin' Blends. I then went over the coloured images with the same colour ink and lightly applied ink using the Blending Brush.

I've added a few die-cut images for the background using Petunia Pop In Color Glimmer Paper and a couple of additional green foliage images by blending Old Olive ink onto Basic White cardstock and die-cut out using the Flowers of Beauty and Unbounded Love dies.

I do love to add lots of different layers to a card and give it a vintage vibe with different Designer Series Paper, Embossing Folders, Ribbon, Embellishments and Twine. Here I've used Country Woods 12x12 Designer Series Paper (163393), 2024-2026 In Color 6x6 Designer Series Paper (163777), Timber 3D Embossing Folder (156406), Distressed Tile Embossing Folder (162189) Black & Very Vanilla Large Check Ribbon (161982), Linen Thread (104199) and Adhesive Backed Pearl Trio (163319).

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Summer Splash - Loveliest Tree

Hello and welcome my friends,

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today, I'll be sharing with you another colour for Colour Creations blog hop and it's week 5 with the Art With Heart Team in Australia. I missed out on the last two In Colors as I was away in Tasmania on holidays with my husband celebrating his 50th birthday.

The next colour is Summer Splash which is part of the In Color Collection for 2024 - 2026 Stampin' Up! sure know how to create some beautiful new colors for us to play with and they are here with us for the next two years. Now that's exciting!

All of the new In Colors come in a range of Stampin' Up! products such as ink, cardstock, ribbon, designer series paper, embellishments, Stampin' Blends and so on.

New colours means new Stampin' Up! products to try out from the new Stampin' Up! 2024 -2025 Annual Catalogue and I'll be showing you the Loveliest Tree bundle (163716) you can find it on pages 71 in the catalogue. This bundle has everything you need to make a beautiful card and there are handy sentiments for most occasions.

I think Summer Splash would have to be the prettiest new In Color for 2024-26 it goes so well with most colours. I created a masculine card with some water colouring which I haven't done in a while and the colours I've used to go with Summer Splash are Blueberry Bushel, Old Olive, Wild Wheat and Copper Clay.

To make the tree I used Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, wide tip Water Painter and the above mentioned inks. I like to apply water to the watercolor paper first then try out different colour combinations and mix them together, if there is too much water or runny ink, I will use the Heat Tool to dry up the ink or blot it with a tissue. I used the dies for the tree from the Loveliest Tree dies and die-cut out the images.

I created the watercolour background using a half sheet of Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper, wide tip Water Painter for the sky I used Summer Splash and Blueberry Bushel and for the grass I used Old Olive and Wild Wheat.

Other elements I added to the card are detailed leaves dies from Unbounded Love Dies and I placed it under the sentiment with Summer Splash Bordered Ribbon. I used Basic Beige cardstock panel and embossed it with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder then placed it over Summer Splash card base.

Thank you for visiting my blog today, I would so love to hear your thoughts on my project by leaving a comment below.

Color INKspiration Challenge #CI166

Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. Tonight, is the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI166 this photo was chosen by Colour INKspiration Crew Member, Lou.

The chosen colour combination for #CI166 is Petunia Pop, Melon Mambo, Lemon Lime Twist and Summer Splash. As well as the chosen colours you may also like to add Basic White, Very Vanilla, Basic Beige, Crumb Cake, Basic Black and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory', 'Bronze' and 'Natural Tones' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Bermuda Bay instead of Summer Splash.... for example).

The challenge will run for almost 3 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 10th June 2024 details to follow at the end of my blog.

These bright happy colours are perfect for a fun card and I've used the Ice Cream Swirl Stamp Set and Ice Cream Swirl Dies for the colour challenge.

Earlier this year Alanna Wharf from the Artisan Stampin' Up! Design Team created a card using this bundle and she used Embossing Paste to create texture. She was such an enabler that I just had to give it a go and try it out for myself. Die-cut out the two pieces for the ice cream swirl in Basic White Cardstock and then apply the embossing paste with a spatula directly onto the ice cream swirl die-cut pieces in swirl motion, let the paste dry.

Then with the Sponge Dauber apply Summer Splash and Lemon Lime Twist inks directly onto the embossing paste. I like to leave some white embossing paste showing through to create more depth.

I used Summer Splash 2024-2026 In Color 6"x 6" Designer Series Paper throughout the card such as the cute cone wrapper for the ice cream and two stripe wafers hiding behind the strawberry.

What's an ice cream without lots of coloured sprinkles on top! I used the four challenge colours using cardstock by die-cutting out the detailed sprinkle die and layered them over the embossed ice cream swirl.

I hope I've inspired you with the latest challenge and I do hope you'll join in. We so look forward to seeing a variety of projects using the challenge colours. Please ensure that your project is new and made specifically for this challenge.

Challenge guidelines:

The chosen colour combination for #CI165 is Petal Pink, Peach Pie and Shy Shamrock. As well as the chosen colours you may also like to add Basic White, Very Vanilla, Basic Beige, Crumb Cake, Basic Black and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory', 'Bronze' and 'Natural Tones' in the Stampin' Blends. The challenge will run for almost 2 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 20th May 2024 details to follow at the end of my blog.

These challenge colours say a flower card to me, but I wanted to do something different instead, so I used the Attention Shoppers bundle (163644) which includes the stamp set and coordinating dies. This is a new bundle in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue 2024-25 and I just love the line art drawings of the stamped images.

Attention Shoppers bundle (163644)

I stamped the images in Black Memento ink onto Basic White Cardstock and coloured the images in with the challenge colours Stampin' Blends.

Next, I die-cut out the images using the Attention Shoppers Dies. I also used Peach Pie In Color Shimmer Specialty Paper for the upper part of the trolley and Silver Foil for the lower part of the trolley.

I kept the card clean by adding a thin strip of Peach Pie In Color 6"x 6" Designer Series Paper (163777) and also as a base layer under Basic White Cardstock card front.

I hope I've inspired you with the latest challenge and I do hope you'll join in. We so look forward to seeing a variety of projects using the challenge colours. Please ensure that your project is new and made specifically for this challenge.
