Heart of Christmas Blog Hop - Week 6

                             

 

Hello and welcome my friends,

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today, I'll be sharing with you a Christmas card I've made for the latest blog hop with the team from Art With Heart in Australia and we are now onto week 6.

Here's my card for tonight's hop, I've used the Reindeer Fun Bundle (164044) which is located on page 27 of the Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue and it's part of the Reindeer Days Suite Collection. I went in another direction with this bundle and went with Nordic style using white and neutral colours. I just love the paper from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper (163393) and the Oxidized Copper Specialty Designer Series Paper (162190) for some of the elements.

Using a panel of wood paper selected from the Country Woods DSP I like to tear the paper by using my fingers and to create an organic look. I like how it exposes some of the white part from the printed paper. The sentiment is from the Reindeer Fun Stamp Set, stamped in VersaMark ink adding white powder and heat embossed the sentiment using the heat tool.

The deer is stamped in Early Espresso and coloured in using Stampin' Blends in the following colours SU500, SU800, light & dark Pecan Pie and Color Lifter. I like to leave some white space around the face, throat, tail and just near their feet (hooves). I used the coordinating Reindeer Fun Dies to die-cut out the deer. 

To make the presents I used the two present dies from the Reindeer Fun Dies, die-cut two in Basic White Cardstock and one in Oxidized Copper Specialty DSP. I also used the cute bow die for the top of the presents. I used thin strips of white cardstock and copper paper to match the bows for the presents. Tip; use Adhesive Sheets (152334) and attach to the backing of cardstock or DSP to make your own stickers this makes it easier to apply to your card making.

To make the Christmas lights I used the detailed lights die and die-cut out two in Basic White and two in Oxidized Copper. Next, using paper snips scissors I snipped off the light bulb in copper and added them to the white Christmas lights. I also used adhesive sheets for the backing of the Christmas lights.

The stamped images on the white background panel are stamped in Crumb Cake ink and then I added the peekaboo window using the circular open tree die using Basic White Cardstock and layered it over the stamped panel.

Creation Station Blog Hop - Stampin' Blends

 

 Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. This is the latest hop with the design team at Creation Station, if you have come from Yvonne's blog or you may have started with me. The design team at Creation Station are presenting their projects with the theme Stampin' Blends. Stampin' Up! have a huge range of alcohol coloured markers and they are perfect for adding colour to line art images of people, nature and more. Plus there's a range of natural colours as well as Bronze and Ivory. Blending light and dark to give you depth and you can also remove colour by using the Colour Lifter.

Today's project I've made a Christmas card using the Reindeer Fun bundle (164044) which is located on page 27 of the Stampin' Up! 2024 Sept - Dec Mini Catalogue. I know I'm going to love this bundle. I've only used some of the images from the stamp set and the two reindeers together are so adorable. There's a variety of different dies from the Reindeer Fun Dies to use to decorate your Christmas cards, paper crafts and even scrapbooking. 

For the images of the reindeer, I used Basic Gray ink and stamped onto Basic White Cardstock, Basic Gray is a lot softer than Black ink and it blends in well with Smokey Slate Stampin' Blends. A helpful tip when colouring in the deer is to leave some white space such as the face and use the Colour Lifter to remove some of the gray, especially near the face and ears.

I coloured in the background panel under the white frame die-cut using Pool Party Stampin' Blends both light and dark. Then I added white snowflakes by stamping the images a number of times using Versamark ink, adding White Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. 

The torn strips of Basic White Cardstock are layered over one another and I added Stampin' Blend Pool Party to create a shadow to the snow.

I die-cut out the holly using Basic White cardstock and then coloured the holly using Pool Party and Petal Pink Stampin' Blends.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI172

 

 Hello and welcome, 

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. Tonight, is the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI172 this photo was chosen by Colour INKspiration Crew Member, Monica Formosa.

The chosen colour combination for #CI172 is Peach Pie, Garden Green and Pebbled Path. As well as the chosen colours you may also like to add Basic White, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Basic Beige, Crumb Cake and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory', 'Bronze' and 'Natural Tones' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Basice Gray instead of Pebbled Path .... for example).

The challenge will run for almost 2 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 9th September 2024 details to follow at the end of my blog.

Today I decided to CASE myself using a card that I made a few years ago for a Colour INKspiration Challenge using similar colours and a white background. I used the Cheerful Daisies bundle which I just love so much!  

I stamped the large daisy in Pebbled Path ink onto Basic White Cardstock and coloured it in using Peach Pie Stampin' Blends. I used the other two daisies from the Cheerful Daisies Dies, die-cut out Basic White Cardstock and added Peach Pie ink with the Mini Blending Brush. I did the same with the detailed leaf die and added Garden Green ink. 

I just had to combine the daisies with the Changing Leaves Dies and use the detailed leaves die for some added interest I applied Garden Green ink to the leaf to create an ombre effect.

Some of the elements I've used are retired from a long time ago which I just found recently when going through my crafty stash. It's a good idea to use your stash!

To finish off the card I added Peach Pie Bordered Ribbon and Peach Pie Resin Dots to the card.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Bubble Bath

Hello and welcome my friends,

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia, I'm still on holidays and we are now on the Gold Coast, QLD for our family holiday reunion. Today, I'll be sharing with you another colour for Colour Creations blog hop and we are now at week 14 with the Art With Heart Team in Australia. 

The next colour is Bubble Bath, which is part of the Subtles Collection and I just had to create a card using this colour before I left Melbourne. Bubble Bath comes in Cardstock, Classic Ink Pad, Ink Refill, Embellishments, Designer Series Paper and other Stampin' Up! products.

I went with a subtle look for Bubble Bath and created a shabby chic style card for this week's project. It's a pretty pink, I've paired it with Moody Mauve by stamping the roses from the Layers of Beauty Stamp Set and then die-cutting it out using the Layers of Beauty Dies. 

I used this fun technique that I learnt from Cindy Schuster over on Stamping Through the Catalog on Instagram, she made a beautiful card using Stampin' Blends as a paint brush to colour in the roses and only using minimal colour. It's very effective technique by using coloured shading where needed. I also used Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends for the leaves and a tiny bit of Moody Mauve for the center of the roses. 

The choice of Stampin' Up! designer series paper was a mix of Nature's Sweetness DSP; Country Woods DSP and Perennial Lavender DSP I just couldn't resist Crumb Cake gingham paper. I also stamped the roses onto the gingham paper in Crumb Cake. I like to rough up the paper by using the blade from the Paper Snips Scissors and run it along the edges of the paper. Another way to add interest is to tear up strips of paper and layer them over one another.

Before I added the subtle roses onto the paper, I used the Spotlight on Nature Dies and die-cut out a paper ring using Basic White Cardstock. To finish off the card I used the Country Birdhouse Stamp Set for the sentiment, stamped it in Moody Mauve and fussy cut out the greeting. I also added a few of the Brushed Brass Butterflies to the card.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Balmy Blue

Hello and welcome my friends,

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today, I'll be sharing with you another colour for Colour Creations blog hop and we are now at week 8 with the Art With Heart Team in Australia. 

The next colour is Balmy Blue which is part of the Subtles range and it's a lovely blue to use in your projects. It comes in Cardstock, Classic Ink Pad, Ink Refill, Embellishments, Designer Series Paper and many more Stampin' Up! products.

I have to tell you a secret this is not the card I was going to be presenting to you tonight in fact I had actually used another colour altogether and it was Boho Blue. Silly me used the wrong blue! Has this ever happened to you? I've saved the card for when Boho Blue comes along which will be week 13 and the good thing is I'm already for Boho Blue.

Well, here's my very quick card using Boho Blue and it's a masculine card as I needed a birthday card for my dad which is coming up soon. As this card was made very last minute, I decided to go with a sketch challenge which is called THIS or THAT for the month of June and it's located over on Stampin' Up! Official Instagram page. You can also find lots of helpful sketches on page 22 of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. I went with THAT for the challenge.

I've used the Spotlight on Nature and Country Birdhouse stamp sets for the birthday card. I love all of the images from the Spotlight on Nature stamp set especially the sprig of leaves stamp and I have stamped it a number of times throughout the card. 

I went with a tone-on-tone look using Night of Navy cardstock and ink. I also stamped the same image using Night of Navy ink onto Balmy Blue cardstock and also Balmy Blue ink stamped onto Basic White cardstock, then I've fussy cut out the images to add to my layers.

As I needed a birthday stamp for the card, I went through my stamp sets and then I found Country Birdhouse Stamp Set and used the happy birthday greeting. I also used the bird image and stamped the bird in Night of Navy and coloured the bird in with Balmy Blue Stampin' Blends. To finish off the card I added Balmy Blue embellishments.

Creation Station Blog Hop - In Color & Core Color

Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. This is the latest hop with the design team at Creation Station, if you have come from Teri West or you may have started with me. The design team at Creation Station are presenting their projects with the theme "In Color & Core Color" we got to choose our favourite colour combination. Choose one new In Color and one core color, plus Basic White/Beige/Grey/Black. I decided to go with Petunia Pop which is a new In Color for 2024-2026 and Old Olive which is a beautiful green. 

For my project I went with the Flower of Beauty (163376) and Unbounded Love (163384) bundles which are part of the Unbounded Beauty Suite Collection (163390) you can find them in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue for 2024-25 and is located on page 52-55. I love everything about this suite including the gorgeous Designer Series Paper, embellishments and I love that all of the new In Colors are featured in this suite.

The Flowers of Beauty bundle consist of the Flowers of Beauty stamp set and dies, I've stamped the images in Memento Ink onto Basic White cardstock and then coloured them in using Petunia Pop and Old Olive Stampin' Blends. I then went over the coloured images with the same colour ink and lightly applied ink using the Blending Brush.

I've added a few die-cut images for the background using Petunia Pop In Color Glimmer Paper and a couple of additional green foliage images by blending Old Olive ink onto Basic White cardstock and die-cut out using the Flowers of Beauty and Unbounded Love dies.

I do love to add lots of different layers to a card and give it a vintage vibe with different Designer Series Paper, Embossing Folders, Ribbon, Embellishments and Twine. Here I've used Country Woods 12x12 Designer Series Paper (163393), 2024-2026 In Color 6x6 Designer Series Paper (163777), Timber 3D Embossing Folder (156406), Distressed Tile Embossing Folder (162189) Black & Very Vanilla Large Check Ribbon (161982), Linen Thread (104199) and Adhesive Backed Pearl Trio (163319).

Colour INKspirationn Challenge #CI165

 Hello and welcome, 

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. Tonight, is the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI165 this photo was chosen by Colour INKspiration Crew Member, Jan. This inspiration photo is stunning with those pink dahlia flowers. 

The chosen colour combination for #CI165 is Petal Pink, Peach Pie and Shy Shamrock. As well as the chosen colours you may also like to add Basic White, Very Vanilla, Basic Beige, Crumb Cake, Basic Black and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory', 'Bronze' and 'Natural Tones' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Calypso Coral instead of Peach Pie.... for example).

The challenge will run for almost 2 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 20th May 2024 details to follow at the end of my blog.

These challenge colours say a flower card to me, but I wanted to do something different instead, so I used the Attention Shoppers bundle (163644) which includes the stamp set and coordinating dies. This is a new bundle in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue 2024-25 and I just love the line art drawings of the stamped images.

I stamped the images in Black Memento ink onto Basic White Cardstock and coloured the images in with the challenge colours Stampin' Blends.

Next, I die-cut out the images using the Attention Shoppers Dies. I also used Peach Pie In Color Shimmer Specialty Paper for the upper part of the trolley and Silver Foil for the lower part of the trolley.

I kept the card clean by adding a thin strip of Peach Pie In Color 6"x 6" Designer Series Paper (163777) and also as a base layer under Basic White Cardstock card front.
