Colour Creations Blog Hop - Blueberry Bushel

 Hello and welcome my friends,

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today, I'll be sharing with you another colour for Colour Creations blog hop and we are now at week 12 with the Art With Heart Team in Australia.

The next colour is Blueberry Bushel, which is part of the Regals range and it's such a pretty blue.  Blueberry Bushel comes in Cardstock, Classic Ink Pad, Ink Refill, Embellishments, Designer Series Paper and other Stampin' Up! products.

Today's card is a bit of a mish mash of Stampin' Up! products used together to create a unique card for a friend to say hello! I only used Blueberry Bushel and no other colour except Basic White Cardstock. I wanted to make this colour shine and standout against the white cardstock.

The list of products I've used are the following Flowers of Beauty Stamp Set and Dies, Simply Said Stamp Set, Unbounded Love Dies, Round We Go Dies and Friends for Life Dies. They are all in the current Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue for 2024-25.

I created a fun ombré pinwheel (using the Round We Go Dies) by adding Blueberry Bushel ink with the Blending Brush to a strip of cardstock (you will need two of these) and then use the pinwheel die to die-cut out two strips. They are easy to fold with your hands and then add Tombo Multipurpose Glue to the ends of the die-cut pinwheels. I like the depth of colour from the center and leading out to a pale blue.

To achieve a water colour look without using water try this idea. I stamped a number of blue flowers from the Flowers of Beauty Stamp Set in Blueberry Bushel, then colour the flowers in using the Blue Watercolour Pencil and then apply the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter brush to create a watercolour look with lots of glitter.

I just love the Friends for Life bundle, especially the Friends for Life Dies and you can make a variety of different combinations of sentiments. I just had to use the word 'Friend' from the dies and use it as a focal point, I like the freshness of white against the ombre background. I used the 'hello' greeting from the Simply Said Stamp Set and die-cut it out using the stitched circle die from Unbounded Love Dies.

The background panel is not just white, I applied Blueberry Bushel ink with the Blending Brush to give it some colour and I also added some splatter by tapping Blueberry Bushel Stampin' Blend against the Bone Folder.

To finish off the card I added a few of the leaves and Blueberry Bushel Tinsel Gems.

  2. Blueberry Bushel and white is a striking colour combo, Vicki. I, too, love the graduation of colour on the rosette. Thanks for the tip about "watercolouring" with Wink of Stella - I forget to do that, and it looks so pretty.

  3. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. I adore your monochromatic Blueberry Bushel and White colour combo - it’s stunning. The range of ombré blending and combination of products is wonderful. I had in my mind to try the Round We Go dies with flowers - you have it combining perfectly. xxx
