Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI190

 

Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. Tonight, is the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI190 this photo was chosen by Colour INKspiration Crew Member, Nikki Spencer. I just love these colours together and inspiration photo.

The chosen colour combination for #CI190 is Basic Beige, Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze. As well as the chosen colours you may also like to add Basic White, Basic Black, Very Vanilla and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory', 'Bronze' and 'Natural Tones' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Pecan Pie instead of Cajun Craze .... for example).

The challenge will run for almost 2 weeks until 7pm (AEDT) on Monday 7th July 2025 details to follow at the end of my blog.

I have used the new Stampin' Up! online exclusive, the Charming Day bundle. It's part of the Floral Charm Suite Collection and will be available starting next month, July 2025. I absolutely love the detailed floral and greenery imagery; it’s such a versatile bundle for all kinds of projects and occasions!

The moment I saw the challenge colours, I was inspired to create a vintage card and I instantly knew this bundle would be perfect for it. 

I began with Basic Beige cardstock, stamping the large floral and foliage image using Black Memento Ink. Then, I used Stampin' Blends, shading the leaves with dark and light Crumb Cake and coloring the roses with Cajun Craze.

The Charming Day dies were used to die-cut the stamped image, and I used another detailed die to create extra foliage to complement the main focal image.  

I love adding lots of interesting layers to my cards, and this one has! The Gardens Embossing Folder is one of my favorites and I enjoy pairing with Two-Tone Cardstock. For this card, I used Cajun Craze for two different panels and embossed them with the folder. To highlight the raised images, I simply used a nail file to lightly sand them.

I added a fun extra layer by stamping various images onto Basic Beige cardstock. I combined the Charming and Elements Text stamp sets to create vintage vibe. I added plenty of splatters using Stampin' Blends and old Stampin' Write Markers. 

To complete my card, I used Black & Very Vanilla Large Check Ribbon tied into a bow and added Crumb Cake Gems from the Earth Tones Shimmer Gems. Both of these products are on the Last Chance items list.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Cherry Cobbler

 

Hello and welcome my friends,

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today, I'll be sharing with you another colour for Colour Creations blog hop and we are now at week 17 with the Art With Heart Team in Australia. 

The next colour is Cherry Cobbler, which is part of the Regals Collection and to me it says Christmas but I went in another direction using this colour. Cherry Cobbler comes in Cardstock, Classic Ink Pad, Ink Refill, Embellishments, Designer Series Paper and other Stampin' Up! products.

For my card I decided to use the online exclusive Changing Leaves Bundle (164139) which includes the Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder and I made a birthday card. The colours I've used say Christmas and this card could easily be a Christmas card, all you would need to do is change the sentiment. 

I used the largest leaf stamp from the Changing Leaves Stamp Set, stamped it onto Crumb Cake Cardstock using Cherry Cobbler ink and the second image was stamped in Shaded Spruce. Then I used the coordinating Changing Leaves die and die-cut out the two large leaves.

There are also two different detailed leaves dies which I just love and they add another dimension to your paper craft. I used Crumb Cake Cardstock to die-cut the leaves out and then I added Cherry Cobbler ink using a Blending Brush. I also did the same using Shaded Spruce ink and Crumb Cake Cardstock.

I layered the leaves onto the Crumb Cake die-cut circle element using the Spotlight on Nature Dies, I added Crumb Cake ink around the edges to give it a vintage look and splattered Cherry Cobbler ink using an old Stampin' Write Marker.

Before layering all of the leaves and elements together. I used the Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder to dry emboss Cherry Cobbler Cardstock and then rough up the edges using the Paper Snips Scissors blade. 

I do love some gingham when comes to these colours, so I used the Large Check Ribbon and layered the sentiment over it with Stampin' Dimensionals. I also used Linen Thread and tied it into a bow. To finishes off the card I added Cherry Cobbler Gems they are from the Rustic Christmas Countdown Kit (163114) and they are so beautiful!

Creation Station Blog Hop - In Color & Core Color

Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. This is the latest hop with the design team at Creation Station, if you have come from Teri West or you may have started with me. The design team at Creation Station are presenting their projects with the theme "In Color & Core Color" we got to choose our favourite colour combination. Choose one new In Color and one core color, plus Basic White/Beige/Grey/Black. I decided to go with Petunia Pop which is a new In Color for 2024-2026 and Old Olive which is a beautiful green. 

For my project I went with the Flower of Beauty (163376) and Unbounded Love (163384) bundles which are part of the Unbounded Beauty Suite Collection (163390) you can find them in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue for 2024-25 and is located on page 52-55. I love everything about this suite including the gorgeous Designer Series Paper, embellishments and I love that all of the new In Colors are featured in this suite.

The Flowers of Beauty bundle consist of the Flowers of Beauty stamp set and dies, I've stamped the images in Memento Ink onto Basic White cardstock and then coloured them in using Petunia Pop and Old Olive Stampin' Blends. I then went over the coloured images with the same colour ink and lightly applied ink using the Blending Brush.

I've added a few die-cut images for the background using Petunia Pop In Color Glimmer Paper and a couple of additional green foliage images by blending Old Olive ink onto Basic White cardstock and die-cut out using the Flowers of Beauty and Unbounded Love dies.

I do love to add lots of different layers to a card and give it a vintage vibe with different Designer Series Paper, Embossing Folders, Ribbon, Embellishments and Twine. Here I've used Country Woods 12x12 Designer Series Paper (163393), 2024-2026 In Color 6x6 Designer Series Paper (163777), Timber 3D Embossing Folder (156406), Distressed Tile Embossing Folder (162189) Black & Very Vanilla Large Check Ribbon (161982), Linen Thread (104199) and Adhesive Backed Pearl Trio (163319).

Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI162

 Hello and welcome, 

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. Tonight, is the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI162 this photo was chosen by Colour INKspiration Crew Member, Rose. I love the look of this wintery snow scene against the bright blue sky.

The chosen colour combination for #CI162 is Very Vanilla, Azure Afternoon, Boho Blue and Early Espresso. As well as the chosen colours you may also like to add Basic White, Basic Beige, Crumb Cake, Basic Black and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory', 'Bronze' and 'Natural Tones' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Tahitian Tide instead of Azure Afternoon.... for example).

The challenge will run for almost 2 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 8th April 2024 details to follow at the end of my blog.

Today's card I decided to use some soon to be retiring bundles and stamp sets, except for the Paper Butterfly Accents they will be carrying over into the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue for 2024-25. I just love the Notes of Nature bundle from the Mini Catalogue it just gives me vintage vibes and works well with the Quiet Meadow stamp set, I'm going to miss them both for sure.

Did you notice in my second paragraph we now have a new color called Basic Beige which comes in Classic Stampin' Pad (163806), A4 Cardstock (164512) and Classic Stampin' Ink Refill (163815) and we can use this color in our projects for the challenges. I love it so much!! It's similar to Sahara Sand which retired a year ago. I used the cardstock and stamped images using the ink pad for the bottom layer. 

I really went out and created lots of layers for this card, so there are lots to see and discover. I stamped the flower image in Early Espresso ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock, then with the small Blending Brush I added Basic Beige ink to the flower and then fussy cut out the image.

I do like to rough up the edges of cardstock by using the Paper Snips and running the blade along the cardstock. Adding colour to the cardstock with the Blending Brush gives you variation in the colour for example I used Crumb Cake Cardstock and I added Early Espresso ink to create a darker look to the cardstock.

I haven't used Embossing Paste in a while, so I created my own stencil by using the leaf die from Notes of Nature Dies, die-cut out the image using Cardstock and then I mixed up together Boho Ink with the paste and then I applied the coloured paste to Boho Blue Cardstock. It adds a fun texture to your projects.

I used one of the butterflies from the Paper Butterfly Accents (162612) which is carrying over from the Mini Catalogue. I coloured in the butterfly using Azure Afternoon and Early Espresso inks with a Sponge Dauber and Blending Brush leaving some white space between the two colours.

To finish off the card I added Very Vanilla Classic Matte Dots and Silver Threaded Twine both are retiring soon.

Stamping Sunday Blog Hop - Manly or Mainly Monochrome

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today is Stamping Sunday blog hop for the month of January and for this month's theme is "Manly or Mainly Monochrome" for our projects. It's the 3rd Sunday of the month and it's great to back for the start of a new year. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's projects and you'll be able to see them by clicking on their names at the end of my blog.

I went with a manly monochrome card for my project using the Nature's Sweetness Suite Collection (162645) and shades of neutral colours such as Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie. I used both bundles from the collection, which include the Lovely & Sweet and Notes of Nature Stamp Set and Dies. This suite is amazing, I just love how it all coordinates so you can mix and match different images together. 

I used the emboss resist technique for the cocoa bean by stamping the image in VersaMark onto Basic White Cardstock, add White Stampin' Emboss Powder tap off any lose powder and then heat set with the Heat Tool. Once it has cooled down, I then started with Crumb Cake ink and applied lightly to the embossed bean with the Blending Brush, next I went onto Pecan Pie and then finished off blending in Pebbled Path ink for a darker brown.

My other main focal point is the destressed notebook which I used the card front from the Kraft Note Cards & Envelopes (159247) it measures at 9 x 12.8cm. I wanted to create a tone-on-tone effect by using the stamp images from the Notes of Nature stamp set, stamped in Versamark then I used clear Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.

To create the notebook look I used the long journal die to die-cut along the top of the Kraft paper, I just love this look and the details this die gives you. Using paper snips, I ran the blade along the edges of the Kraft paper and added Pecan Pie ink with the Blending Brush to create a destressed look. Then I tore a corn to show the Basic White panel embossed underneath.

Other elements added to the card is the Paper Butterfly Accents (162612) I used a smaller butterfly with Pecan Pie ink added to the center of the butterfly. The adhesive backed Cork Rounds (162643), Pecan Pie Bordered Ribbon and threads from the Silver Threaded Twine.

Stamping Sunday Blog Hop - Celebrating Good Times

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today is the Stamping Sunday blog hop for the month of October and for this month's theme is "Celebrating Good Times". It's the 3rd Sunday of the month and can you believe it we are not too far away until the end of the year! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's projects and you'll be able to see them by clicking on their names which will be at the end of my blog.

For my theme I actually went with something different as my oldest daughter has just finished her last day of school and then she'll have her exams over the next month. I wanted to make her something special for her graduation next month, so I made two projects a card and a mini gift box to give to her.    

When I was thinking about my project, I knew I wanted to use the Wanted to Say Dies and use the Celebrate die for both projects. I also wanted to keep the colours soft tones and add sparkle for some of the elements.

Let's Celebrate You! Card

I just love Pecan Pie and would one of my favourite Stampin' Up! color! I like to tone it down when using it with Basic White and Very Vanilla Cardstock. Adding ink with the Blending Brush to the embossed cardstock using the very popular Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder and then rip along the edges of the cardstock.

I've added a number of different layers to the card starting with Oxidized Copper Specialty Designer Series Paper, Burlap Ribbon I just love the white stitching on the ribbon and Very Vanilla Baker's Twine.

For a soft pretty look I added a couple of Petal Pink daisies by using the daisies masks from the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks and then fussy cut them out.

I've used the Celebrate with Tags Stamp Set for the sentiment and the Celebrate die using the Oxidized Copper Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Celebrate Envelope Treat Box

Have you seen the cute Envelope Treat Boxes? They are on page 126 of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue and they make the perfect gift for someone special. They are white but you can stamp on them or add colour to the boxes. I used Pecan Pie ink and applied it with the Blending Brush.

I added a belly band to the box and decorated it. Starting with a strip of Basic White Cardstock and embossed it using the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder. Using the same embossing folder, I embossed the Very Vanilla gift tag and added Pecan Pie ink with the Blending Brush.

I like the idea of mixing up Very Vanilla and Basic White together it gives you a fresh clean look and added a soft subtle colour like Petal Pink gives it a wow look! For the Celebrate I die-cut the image out using the Champagne paper from the More Dazzle Specialty Paper. 

Other elements used are Natural Wavy Trim and I unraveled the Burlap Ribbon to form lots of strands.

Creation Station Blog Hop - Monochromatic

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. This is the latest hop with the design team at Creation Station, if you have come from Sara Nell Langland or you may have started with me. The design team at Creation Station are presenting their projects with the theme "Monochromatic" this was a fun challenge to do. I created my project for this month's theme using shades of brown tones and vanilla with a variety of different Stampin' Up! products. 

Creating a monochromatic card can really help to show off the same colour when using it in different ways. Stampin' Up! have lots of different products to use such as paper, inks, embellishments and ribbons. I've used Pecan Pie, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla for my colours and turned it into a vintage card.

I used the flowers from the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks and created three flowers by applying Pecan Pie ink with a Blending Brush onto Very Vanilla Cardstock then I fussy cut out the flowers. Instead of using the leaves from the masks I used one of the leaves dies from the Gorgeously Made Dies, die-cut out in Very Vanilla Cardstock and Champagne sparkle paper from the More Dazzle Specialty Paper.

To create the background panel, I used Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped the unique text image in Crumb Cake ink. For the next panel in Crumb Cake Cardstock, I ran it through the die cutting machine with the new Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder and applied Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie and Early Espresso ink onto the embossed cardstock with the Blending Brush. For some interest I tore along the edge of the Crumb Cake cardstock to expose the stamped Very Vanilla Cardstock.

Other added layers to the card are Crumb Cake wide strip cardstock coloured in using Pecan Pie ink with the Blending Brush and then I tore the edges. For extra layers I added Burlap Ribbon, Very Vanilla Bakers Twine and More Dazzle Specialty Paper. To finish off the card I placed a few Sparkle Gems in Champagne.
