Week 7 Art With Heart Colour Creations Weekly Showcase Cajun Craze

Hello and welcome to Week 7 with the Art With Heart Colour Creations weekly Showcase. Which the lovely Catherine Proctor is running our weekly blog and with a selection of other Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from the Art With Heart Team.

This week we are featuring Cajun Craze, which is a colour I don't normally use, but I wanted to challenge myself by using this colour. I hope we will inspire you with our projects using Cajun Craze.

Cajun Craze is from the Regals Colour Collection and comes in a range of Stampin' Up! products such as the Classic Stampin' Pad, Cardstock, Stampin' Blends, DSP and more.

The two masculine projects that I have made is a card and gift tag, using the colours Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Cinnamon Cider. I think these colours go well together.

I started with the card first by creating the feathers using Watercolor Paper, Water Painters applying a mix of ink using Cajun Craze and Cinnamon Cider. Once the ink was dry, I then stamped the feather stamp from the Tasteful Touches Stamp Set, stamped it in Cinnamon Cider and fussy cut the images out.

The tree stump stamp is from the Rooted In Nature Stamp Set, stamped in Early Espresso onto Early Espresso Cardstock and fussy cut the image out. I've sponged some Cajun Craze Ink onto the pressed wood leaf element which gives a different look and colour to the leaf.

Using a panel of Crumb Cake Cardstock, I've embossed it with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder, using Crumb Cake Ink I've sponged ink onto the wood panel with the Stamping Sponges. By doing this it gives you a more defined look on your Cardstock and you can see the wooded texture.

I wanted the tree stump, feathers and wood element to be layered onto a strip of Cajun Craze Cardstock. Before adding all of the elements, I've randomly stamped the feather stamp in Cajun Craze Ink onto Cajun Craze Cardstock. I've wrapped the Linen Thread around the panel to give it some added texture and then I added all of the different elements.

The final addition is the sentiment, I've used the greeting from the Rooted In Nature Stamp Set, stamped it in Early Espresso Ink onto Crumb Cake Cardstock, die cut the image out using the stitched Tasteful Labels Dies. The card base is half a sheet of the Cajun Craze Cardstock.

For the gift tag, I've used Cajun Craze Cardstock for the base, punched it using the Scalloped Tag Topper and layered a piece of the embossed Pinewood Planks in Crumb Cake Cardstock. The feather is stamped in Cajun Craze Ink onto Cajun Craze Cardstock and fussy cut out. I've added a little of Cinnamon Cider Ink onto the pressed wood leaf element and the greeting is stamped in Cinnamon Cider onto Crumb Cake Cardstock. Then die cut out using the Tasteful Labels Dies.
