Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI152

Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. Tonight, is the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI152 this photo was chosen by Bronwyn Eastley.

The chosen colour combination for #CI152 is Gray Granite, Starry Sky and Night of Navy. As well as the chosen colours you may also like to add Basic White, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory', 'Bronze' and 'Natural Tones' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Misty Moonlight instead of Starry Sky .... you get the drift).

The challenge will run for almost 2 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 9th October 2023 details to follow at the end of my blog.

Today's card is a Christmas card using the Forever Forest bundle and Christmas Classics stamp set which are in the Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue Sep-Dec 2023.

I went for a simpler card using the challenge colours starting with the watercolour background, I used Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and applied ink with the wide tip brush Water Painter. Once dry I stamped the sentiment, moon and stars images using VersaMark Ink, added White Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat embossed the images with the Heat Tool.

The tree images are die-cut out using the Forever Forest Dies in Basic White Cardstock, then I applied Night of Navy and Starry Sky ink with the Blending Brush leaving some white space at the top.

To finish off the card I added Linen Thread to the card and added Gray Granite Cardstock over Basic White card front.

I hope I've inspired you with the latest challenge and I do hope you'll join in. We so look forward to seeing a variety of projects using the challenge colours. Please ensure that your project is new and made specifically for this challenge.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI151

 Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. Tonight, is the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI151 this photo was chosen by Cathy Pinchbeck. These colours are stunning together and I just love the inspiring photo used for the challenge.

The chosen colour combination for #CI151 is Petal Pink, Balmy Blue, Boho Blue and Pecan Pie. As well as the chosen colours you may also like to add Basic White, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory', 'Bronze' and 'Natural Tones' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Copper Clay instead of Pecan Pie .... you get the drift).

The challenge will run for almost 2 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 25th September 2023 details to follow at the end of my blog.

Here's my slimline Christmas card I used the Christmas Classics bundle which is in the new Stampin' Up! Sep-Dec 2023 Mini Catalogue. My first time using this bundle and I love it! I went with a soft look using these beautiful colours and one technique I really love to do is the emboss resist technique using White Stampin' Emboss Powder. I really like how the sentiment stands out against Boho Blue. Here I just added Boho Blue ink with the Blending Brush.

I used one of the fancy labels from the Christmas Classics Dies, die-cut a number of them in Basic White Cardstock and cut the label in half. This creates lots of interesting elements to form the card.

I've used this layout for my slimline cards many times now and I like to create one of the panels with coloured ink by applying Boho Blue ink with the Blending Brush. Starting at the edge and working over towards the other side of the panel and then I tear one side of the cardstock to expose the white paper.

Another fun way to add interest to your cards is adding White Stampin' Emboss Powder to the edges of the cardstock. I just simply run the VersaMark ink pad along the edges of the cardstock then apply White Stampin' Emboss Powder, brush off any excess that I don't want and heat set with the Heat Tool.

To finish off the card I added Clear Wink of Stella by taping the brush against the lid. I also hadn't used any Petal Pink on the card expect for the Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins, they are stunning in the pink and Balmy Blue.

I hope I've inspired you with the latest challenge and I do hope you'll join in. We so look forward to seeing a variety of projects using the challenge colours. Please ensure that your project is new and made specifically for this challenge.

Creation Station Blog Hop - Monochromatic

Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. This is the latest hop with the design team at Creation Station, if you have come from Sara Nell Langland or you may have started with me. Please make sure you hop around and see everyone's amazing projects. I'll pop a link at the end of my blog.

The design team at Creation Station are presenting their projects with the theme "Monochromatic" this was a fun challenge to do. I created my project for this month's theme using shades of brown tones and vanilla with a variety of different Stampin' Up! products.

Creating a monochromatic card can really help to show off the same colour when using it in different ways. Stampin' Up! have lots of different products to use such as paper, inks, embellishments and ribbons. I've used Pecan Pie, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla for my colours and turned it into a vintage card.

I used the flowers from the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks and created three flowers by applying Pecan Pie ink with a Blending Brush onto Very Vanilla Cardstock then I fussy cut out the flowers. Instead of using the leaves from the masks I used one of the leaves dies from the Gorgeously Made Dies, die-cut out in Very Vanilla Cardstock and Champagne sparkle paper from the More Dazzle Specialty Paper.

To create the background panel, I used Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped the unique text image in Crumb Cake ink. For the next panel in Crumb Cake Cardstock, I ran it through the die cutting machine with the new Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder and applied Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie and Early Espresso ink onto the embossed cardstock with the Blending Brush. For some interest I tore along the edge of the Crumb Cake cardstock to expose the stamped Very Vanilla Cardstock.

Other added layers to the card are Crumb Cake wide strip cardstock coloured in using Pecan Pie ink with the Blending Brush and then I tore the edges. For extra layers I added Burlap Ribbon, Very Vanilla Bakers Twine and More Dazzle Specialty Paper. To finish off the card I placed a few Sparkle Gems in Champagne.
