Artisan Design Team - By The Bay Suite

Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today, I'll be sharing with you three projects I created for Stampin' Up! earlier this month for my Monthly Artisan Assignment using the By The Bay Suite which was shared on Stampin' Up! socials. The design team did such an amazing job on their projects so make sure you check out their creations. I'll have the link at the bottom on my blog.

By The Bay Suite Collection 160450

The By the Bay Suite is in the Mini Jan - April Catalogue 2023 and is only available until supplies last or until the 1st of May 2023. The Seaside Bay Stamp Set 160436, Seaside Bay Dies 160444, Balmy Blue & White Variegated Ribbon 160448 and Flat Adhesive Backed Pearls 160449 will all be carrying over into the Stampin' Up! 2023 - 24 Annual Catalogue. The only item retiring will be the gorgeous By The Bay 6" x 6" Specialty Designer Series Paper 160434 I'm so glad I have this DSP in my stash! I'll certainly will be using it for future cards and gift tags.

Now for my projects I created a slimline card, standard size card and gift tag using all of the products from the suite. I just love anything blue so that was my go-to when deciding which colours to use.

For the slimline card I created a under the sea blended background using Basic White cardstock, Blending Brushes and the following colours - Balmy Blue, Nighth of Navy, Starry Sky, Orchid Oasis, Pool Party and Coastal Cabana. I like to leave a corner of white cardstock as well as create light and dark with the different shades of blues. Then my go to at the moment is using my fingers and flicking water onto the ink blended background. This is so much fun!

To create the different layers of seashells, grass, crab I used inked up watercolor paper, stamped images and DSP. I also like to add color using either a Sponge Dauber or Blending Brush to the images. Adding different ribbons and accessories adds texture and sparkle to your project.

I used a lot of By The Bay Specialty Designer Series Paper for the standard size card to create layers and elements to the card. The addition of rippled ribbon layered under the strip of DSP and Gold Elegant Trim tied in a bow.

I used the Stampin' Write Markers to colour in the birds and stamp the images onto Basic White Cardstock and die-cut the birds out using the Seaside Bay Dies. Then using the By The Bay Specialty Designer Series Paper and Balmy Blue Cardstock to die-cut out using Stylish Shapes Dies for the gift tag.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI142

Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. Tonight, is the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI142 this photo was chosen by Bronwyn Eastley.

The chosen colour combination for #CI142 is Soft Succulent, Shaded Spruce and Smoky Slate. As well as the chosen colours you may also like to add Basic White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Crumb Cake and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory', 'Bronze' and 'Natural Tones' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Lost Lagoon instead of Soft Succulent .... you get the drift).

The challenge will run for almost 2 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 8th May 2023 details to follow at the end of my blog.

For today's card I've used a brand new bundle from the Stampin' Up! 2023 - 24 Annual Catalogue and it's called Cheerful Daisies stamp set and dies. I went for a softer look with the challenge colours using Blending Brushes and Sponge Daubers. The Cheerful Daisies are actually on the front of the new catalogue and they will be available to customers as of the 2nd of May 2023.

There are lots of different detailed elements and I used Basic White Cardstock to die-cut the daisies and foliage out. Then with the Sponge Dauber I added Shaded Spruce ink to the center of the daisies and Soft Succulent ink with the Blending Brush for the bottom layer of the daisies. The leaves and fine twigs I used a mix of both Shaded Spruce and Soft Succulent.

Tip: To create the soft panel underneath the daisies, I used a stencil by die-cutting the fine twig die and placed it over the cardstock then with the Blending Brush I added Soft Succulent ink to the panel a couple of times. I also used Smoky Slate ink stamped some of the leaves and daisies so they would peek through, and this would create another layer to the card.

To finish off the card I used White Baker's Twine and added White Classic Matte Dots. The sentiment is stamped in Soft Succulent ink onto Basic White Cardstock and die cut using the label die.

I hope I've inspired you with the latest challenge and I do hope you'll join in. We so look forward to seeing a variety of projects using the challenge colours. Please ensure that your project is new and made specifically for this challenge.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI141

 Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. Tonight, is the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI141 this photo was chosen by Jan Clothier.

The chosen colour combination for #CI141 is Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Gold and your favourite from 2021-23 In Color Collection. As well as the chosen colours you may also like to add Basic White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory', 'Bronze' and 'Natural Tones' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Polished Pink instead of Melon Mambo .... you get the drift).

The challenge will run for almost 2 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 24th April 2023 details to follow at the end of my blog.

The In Color I have chosen is Polished Pink I think this is the perfect colour to go with the other three challenge colours. Pink, gold with vanilla is elegant and I've used Basic Black for the sentiment. Simple but very effective. What do you think?

I decided to use Two-Tone Flora bundle which includes the stamp set and Dies from the Jan- April 2023 Mini Catalogue and I'm so happy to say this will be carrying over into the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue 2023 - 2024. The stamps are two-step and I've just stamped some of the images off onto scrap paper first before stamping onto Very Vanilla Cardstock. I just love the colour of Polished Pink stamped onto Very Vanilla Cardstock. It's so pretty!

The gold leaves are heat embossed with Gilded Leafing. First stamp the leaves in Versamark Ink then add Heat & Stick Powder, heat with the Heat Tool, then quickly add the Gold Gilded Leafing and brush off any loose bits with your fingers or a brush. I also added Gilded Leafing to the edge of the Very Vanilla Cardstock panel. This time I lightly used Multipurpose Glue applied to the edge of the paper, dry with the Heat Tool and added Gilded Leafing.

The other gold elements are Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins, Gold Simply Elegant Trim and Gold Shimmer Ribbon which is on sale now and will be retiring soon. The sentiment is from Go-To Greetings Stamp Set and this will be carrying over into the new Annual Catalogue.

I hope I've inspired you with the latest challenge and I do hope you'll join in. We so look forward to seeing a variety of projects using the challenge colours. Please ensure that your project is new and made specifically for this challenge.

Stamping Sunday Blog Hop - From Little Seeds

Hello and welcome,

It's Stamping 2nd Sunday latest blog hop for April and for this month the design team will be showcasing the theme 'From Little Seeds' in our projects for either Spring or Autumn. Make sure you click on the list of participants which will be at the end of this blog.

As I don't really have any stamp sets with Autumn leaves in them, so i decided to use the Sweet Citrus Bundle and new Stampin' Up! products from the Annual Catalogue for 2023 to 2024. The Sweet Citrus Bundle is currently in the Mini Catalogue Jan - April 2023 and will be carrying over into the new catalogue.

For my two projects I went with lemons and limes which are currently in abundance at the moment in Melbourne. They are so versatile when it comes to cooking or for adding to your drinks.

Here's the list of the new Stampin' Up! products which will be available to customers as of 2nd May 2023

Lemon Lolly Cardstock 161729, Lemon Lolly Classic Stampin' Pad 161666, Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock 144250, Lemon Lime Twist Classic Stampin' Pad 147145 and Nested Essentials Dies 161597 they are amazing! Lemon Lolly is a new color which is part of the Subtles Collection and we welcome back Lemon Lime Twist which is part of the Brights Collection.

Lemon Birthday Card

I just love the bright happy colours used for this card and I was so excited to try out Lemon Lolly with Daffodil Delight and Tahitian Tide for my colour palette. I think they go well together.

I embossed Lemon Lolly cardstock with the Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing Folder and added Daffodil Delight ink with the Blending Brush. First I stamped the lemon rinds in Lemon Lolly ink and added Daffodil Delight ink with the Sponge Dauber and stamped onto Basic White cardstock. I did the same technique with the lemon segments. Then die-cut the images out.

The flower images from the Sweet Citrus Stamp Set are gorgeous as in a stamped background or adding sweet flowers as embellishments in watercolor. I used two of the Nested Essentials Dies to form a layered look and give the card some dimension. I used the Good Feelings Stamp Set for the sentiment and layered over the lemons and surrounding watercolor flowers.

To finish off the card I added Tahitian Tide Baker's Twine layered with more lemons, flowers and leaves. The sentiment was fussy cut out and placed over the lemons.

Lime Thank You Card

Well, what can I say! Lemon Lime Twist is back and it's perfect for the lime Thank You card. To create the lime ombre background, I used Lemon Lime Twist cardstock started blending in with Garden Green, Parakeet Party and finished off with Lemon Lime Twist. Then I stamped the flower images using Parakeet Party ink.

It's the same technique for the limes as above for the lemons. Starting with Parakeet Party for the rinds, adding a little of Garden Green and stamp onto Basic White cardstock. Then for the lime segments stamp in Lemon Lime Twist, add Parakeet Party and Garden Green ink.

I used the same technique for the sentiment, stamp the image in Lemon Lime Twist and add the other greens with the sponge Dauber. I used another new image from the Nested Essentials Dies and die-cut out in Basic White cardstock. Stamped the flowers in Lemon Lime Twist onto the cardstock.

To finish off the card I added the limes, watercolor flowers and Parakeet Party Baker's Twine.
