Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI142

Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. Tonight, is the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI142 this photo was chosen by Bronwyn Eastley.

The chosen colour combination for #CI142 is Soft Succulent, Shaded Spruce and Smoky Slate. As well as the chosen colours you may also like to add Basic White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Crumb Cake and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory', 'Bronze' and 'Natural Tones' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Lost Lagoon instead of Soft Succulent .... you get the drift).

The challenge will run for almost 2 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 8th May 2023 details to follow at the end of my blog.

For today's card I've used a brand new bundle from the Stampin' Up! 2023 - 24 Annual Catalogue and it's called Cheerful Daisies stamp set and dies. I went for a softer look with the challenge colours using Blending Brushes and Sponge Daubers. The Cheerful Daisies are actually on the front of the new catalogue and they will be available to customers as of the 2nd of May 2023.

There are lots of different detailed elements and I used Basic White Cardstock to die-cut the daisies and foliage out. Then with the Sponge Dauber I added Shaded Spruce ink to the center of the daisies and Soft Succulent ink with the Blending Brush for the bottom layer of the daisies. The leaves and fine twigs I used a mix of both Shaded Spruce and Soft Succulent.

Tip: To create the soft panel underneath the daisies, I used a stencil by die-cutting the fine twig die and placed it over the cardstock then with the Blending Brush I added Soft Succulent ink to the panel a couple of times. I also used Smoky Slate ink stamped some of the leaves and daisies so they would peek through, and this would create another layer to the card.

To finish off the card I used White Baker's Twine and added White Classic Matte Dots. The sentiment is stamped in Soft Succulent ink onto Basic White Cardstock and die cut using the label die.

I hope I've inspired you with the latest challenge and I do hope you'll join in. We so look forward to seeing a variety of projects using the challenge colours. Please ensure that your project is new and made specifically for this challenge.

Artisan Design Team - Artfully Composed Suite Collection

Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today I'll be sharing three projects using the Artfully Composed Suite Collection, turning them into a slimline card, standard card, gift bag and gift tag.

The Artisan Design Team are featuring the Artfully Composed Suite Collection on Stampin' Up! Facebook page where you'll sure to be inspired by everyone's creations, I'll add the link at the end of my blog.

The Artfully Composed Suite (157765) is located on page 32 to 34 of the Stampin' Up! Jan - June Mini Catalogue. This beautiful suite consists of Artfully Layered Stamp Set (157752), Tropical Layered Dies (1457760), White 3/4" Frayed Ribbon (158138), Faux Sea Grass Shapes (158139), Vellum 12" x 12" Layering Designs (157764) and Artfully Composed 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (157750). I just love how it all works together and the beautiful lush tropical images.

Hey There Slimline Card

To create my slimline card, start with Crumb Cake Cardstock measured at 8.5cm x 21cm, lightly adding Crumb Cake Ink with the Blending Brush to the edges of the cardstock and also a little of Evening Evergreen Ink.

Stamp the larger images first to the panel using Evening Evergreen and Calypso Coral Ink for the lush tropical images. The script writing is stamped in Versamark Ink giving a tone on tone effect. Using a Blending Brush add Calypso Coral Ink to the stamped images in Calypso Coral.

I love all of the images from the Tropical Layers Dies they add so much more detail to your creations. I added Soft Suede and Old Olive Ink using a Blending Brush to the Vellum Layering Designs and then die-cut the images out using the Tropical Layered Dies.

On one side of the Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper has hand painted tropical designs and on the other has small print patterns such as stripes, polka dots and scripty writing. I used the small print designs like the Calypso Coral Designer Series Paper, die-cut out using the detailed leaf die to add different elements to my project.

To finish off my card I coloured in the White Frayed Ribbon using Evening Evergreen Stampin' Blend. I also added a few of the Old Olive Faux Sea Grass Shapes to my card.

Happiest Birthday Whishes Card

My next card is a standard size card, starting with Sahara Sand Cardstock for the panel, to create the background use the solid palm leaf die-cut image, with your Blending Brush and Evening Evergreen Ink to create a faux masking technique.

I've used the Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper and die-cut out using the Tropical Layers Dies for lots of interest and layers to the card.

The palm leaf stamp image from the Artfully Layered Stamp Set would have to be my favourite out of all of the images in the set. I've stamped the image in Crumb Cake Ink onto Crumb Cake Cardstock and Evening Evergreen Ink onto Evening Evergreen Cardstock, then die-cut out using the Tropical Layers Dies.

This time for the White Frayed Ribbon, I coloured it in using Crumb Cake Stampin' Blend. The other elements are a strip of Calypso Coral Cardstock die-cut out using the stitched pinking edge die and for a natural look I just couldn't go past the Linen Thread, tied it in a bow.

The sentiment is stamped in Versamark Ink onto Basic Black Cardstock, White Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. Then fussy cut out using the Paper Snips. I coloured in the Faux Sea Grass Shapes using Evening Evergreen Stampin' Blend.

Ombre Gift Bag and Thank You Tag

My last project is a quick simple gift bag with a fancy gift tag, using the soon to be retired Ombre Gift Bag (155479) in Evening Evergreen and all I did was stamp the large leaf image in Evening Evergreen Ink onto the gift bag.

To create the fancy gift tag, use the Tailor Made Tags (155563) which I just love to mix and match adding different sizes/shapes to your projects. I've die-cut out using the Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper in Calypso Coral and Evening Evergreen.

Layering on top of the tags is a range of stamped and die-cut images, the palm leaf in Sahara Sand, Evening Evergreen, Calypso Coral and Vellum Layering Designs inked up using Soft Suede Ink with the Blending Brush.

Using the White Frayed Ribbon, I coloured it in using light Calypso Coral Stampin' Blend. To create thin strands from the Calypso Coral Frayed Ribbon by pulling apart the wide ribbon. Once it is frayed, thread it through the gift tag hole and hold it in place. I added a few of the Faux Sea Glass and coloured the clear ones using Crumb Cake Stampin' Blend.

Stampin' Up! Tip and technique Friends of the Forest

 Hello and welcome,

Today I wanted to share with you my latest tip and technique by using the faux masking technique with Blending Brushes and Grid Paper. I've used the Friends of the Forest Stamp Set which is in the Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue January to June 2022.

Create a faux torn paper look by tearing up Grid Paper and using it as a mask over Basic White Cardstock. Apply ink to the Cardstock with Blending Brushes. Here I've used Balmy Blue for the sky and Old Olive for the ground.

Add stamped images and then remove the Grid Paper. Complete your project as desired. Here I've used Watercolor Pencils and Clear Wink of Stella to colour in the stamped images and then fussy cut out using the Paper Snips.

I've used the following colours Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, Old Olive and Cajun Craze for the tree. Real Red and Basic Gray for the toad stools. Daffodil Delight and Old Olive for the daisies. Basic Gray and Melon Mambo for the rabbit.

To finish off the card I added White Baker's Twine to the panel and greeting is adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. The panel is layered over Old Olive Cardstock for the card base.

Global Design Project #GDP313 Color Challenge

Hello and welcome,

I just had to enter myself in the latest Global Design Project #GDP313 Color Challenge which ends very soon. I love the challenge colors combined together they are Real Red, Sahara Sand and Basic Black. These colors scream Christmas to me but I needed to make a masculine birthday card, so I was up for the challenge!

I've created a slimline card for the challenge using the Stampin' Up! Decorative Masks - basic patterns there are 4 masks and you'll find them on page 128 in the Annual Catalogue for 2021 - 2022.

To create my Ombre design I've used a panel of Basic White Cardstock applied Sahara Sand Ink with the Blending Brush and lightly added ink to the paper. As the mask is only 6" x 6" I've moved the mask up the panel and added more ink.

The Stitched Stars Dies are perfect for masculine cards, I've die-cut the stars out in different sizes using Basic Black and Real Red Cardstock.

To finish off the card I've used the Biggest Wish Stamp Set for the sentiment I love the big bold words and they go well with the card. I've heat embossed White Stampin' Emboss Powder onto Basic Black Cardstock.

Thank you for visiting my blog today, I would so love hear your thoughts on my project by leaving a comment below.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI109

 Hello and welcome,

It's the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI109 and this photo was chosen by Colour INKspiration Crew Member, Lou Kitzelman. It's a stunning photo and I love the colours for this latest challenge.

The colour combination for #CI109 is Crushed Curry, Pool Party, Cinnamon Cider and Early Espresso. As well as the chosen colours you may also add Basic White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory' and 'Bronze' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Daffodil Delight instead of Crushed Curry .... you get the drift).

The challenge will run for almost 2 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 25th October 2021 details to follow at the end of my blog.

For my card I've created a thank you slimline card using the Celebrate Sunflowers, Quiet Meadow and Sweet Strawberry Stamp Set. I came across a beautiful Delicate Dahlias card on Pinterest by Ruth Trice - Artful Stampin. I love her creations and how she uses images of the stamps together to make a one sheet wonder and then cut into cards. I thought this colour palette was perfect for something like this.

Starting with Basic White Cardstock for the slimline panel, I started with the largest Sunflower stamp from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set and stamped the image using Crushed Curry ink. Next I used Cinnamon Cider ink for the smaller Sunflowers and Early Espresso for the leaves.

I love the stamp images from the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set, I've used the larger single flower in Pool Party Ink and stamped over part of the Sunflower using the masking technique with a sticky posted note. This gives the impression of the Pool Party flower is behind the Sunflower.

Also in the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set there are two smaller flower images, I've stamped them in Pool Party, Crushed Curry and Cinnamon Cider Ink. I've used a flower image from the Sweet Strawberry Stamp Set and stamped in Pool Party Ink.

As you can see there are lots of fine splatter dots on the card. To create this effect I've used the brush tip from the Stampin' Write Markers in Pool Party, Early Espresso, Crushed Curry and flick ink against the lid. I also used Cinnamon Cider in the Stampin' Blends and used the same technique.

Using the Sunflower Dies for the die-cuts, I've either used Pattern Party Designer Series Paper or coloured cardstock and added ink with the Blending Brush. The black and white gingham DSP is from the Pattern Party DSP layered under the greeting which is from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set. The card base is in Crushed Curry.

I hope you can participate in this latest round and as we so look forward to seeing a variety of projects using the challenge colours. Please ensure that your project is new and made specially for this challenge.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI109 will run until 7pm (ADET) on Monday 25th October 2021.

Colour Creations Blog Hop Bermuda Bay Week 4 Art With Heart Team Australia

 Hello and welcome

Tonight I'll be sharing with you Week 4 of Colour Creations Blog Hop with the Art With Heart Team in Australia.

Each week there will be a Colour Creations blog hop showcasing Stampin' Up! Colors with a selection of members from the Art With Heart Team who will be joining in. I'm looking forward to seeing their beautiful projects using the Stampin' Up! Colors. You'll be able to hop around by clicking on the next link at the end of my blog.

The colour for tonight is Bermuda Bay which is part of the Brights Collection and comes in a number of different mediums such as Ink, Cardstock, DSP etc.... I've used Bermuda Bay with Soft Seafoam and Evening Evergreen as well as Crumb Cake and Gray Granite for my handmade cards.

I wanted to see how Bermuda Bay would interact with two very different greens from the Stampin' Up! Colors by using different ink blending techniques. I always love using greens for the Simply Succulents Stamp Set and coordinating Pottered Succulents Dies which is in the Stampin' Up! 2021 - 2022 Annual Catalogue.

For my first card I've used the Faux Masking technique by ripping up Grid Paper and placing it onto a panel of Basic White Cardstock.

I've placed masking tape onto the Grid Paper as you don't want it to move on you. I started applying Soft Seafoam ink using the Blending Brush then onto Bermuda Bay and finished off with Evening Evergreen. I also added splattered ink by using the Stampin' Blends in the same colours.

The stamped images of the succulents for the first card are inked up in Memento Black Ink and coloured in using Bermuda Bay and Evening Evergreen light and dark Stampin' Blends. I also like to take off some of the colour by using the Colour Lifter.

For the Potted Succulents die cut images, I've blended Bermuda Bay and Soft Seafoam Ink onto Basic White Cardstock. I like to add a little dimension to my cards, so I've used Stampin' Dimensionals for some of the images.

For my second card, I've created a watercolour look using the large succulent image and stamped it in Stazon Ink onto Shimmery White Cardstock. I've coloured in the succulents using the fine tip Water Painter and combined Bermuda Bay, Soft Seafoam and Evening Evergreen Ink. It's amazing the colours you can come up with when combing them together.

The ink blending background is a panel of Basic White Cardstock using the Blending Brush and starting with Soft Seafoam, then mixing in with Bermuda Bay and finishing off with Evening Evergreen. This makes a lovely soft background.

The card base for both cards is Bermuda Bay Cardstock. I wanted a couple of birthday cards, so I've used the Pansy Patch Stamp Set. I've heat embossed the sentiment using Versamark Ink, White Stampin' Emboss Powder and Heat Tool.
