Stamping Sunday Blog Hop - New Beginnings

Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today is the Stamping Sunday new blog hop for the month of May and it's all about new beginnings. The 2nd Sunday team have joined with the 4th Sunday team and we will now be showcasing our projects on the 3rd Sunday of each month. It's so exciting to see so many people join in the hop. All of the links will be at the bottom of my blog.

Today's project I've used new colors and new Stampin' Up! products, I've used the Cheerful Daisies bundle which I would have to say is one of my favourite stamp set and coordinating dies to create with and turning them into cards.

The technique I've used is the embossed resist by stamping the images in VersaMark onto Basic White Cardstock, add White Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set using the Heat Tool. Then either use Blending Brushes or Sponge Daubers and add colour to the daisies. Tip: I use a tissue to wipe off any ink from the images.

For my first card I used Boho Blue which I just love and it seems to just go with anything. It's one of the new In Colors 2023-25. Misty Moonlight is back which blends in well with Boho Blue. I've added Pecan Pie which is a new permanent color. I also tried the torn layered look with three layers of Basic White Cardstock.

I added some bling to the card using the new Adhesive Backed Sparkle Gems in Champagne and added a bow using Linen Thread to finish off the card.

For my second card which I wasn't going to do but I really wanted to try out this combination of colors. I used Wild Wheat and Boho Blue. When it comes to heat embossing, I like to stamp the images a number of times and play with color to see different results. I'm really liking Wild Wheat and it gives you a gold look to your projects.

For the background panel I used Queen Bee Stamp Set which is available on the Stampin' Up! Online Store. I've stamped the images in Wild Wheat and added colour by using the Blending Brush. I just couldn't decide on a sentiment, so I've left it blank for now. I added a few Boho Blue 2023-25 In Color Dots to the card.
