Colour Creations Blog Hop - Coastal Cabana

Hello and welcome my friends,

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today, I'll be sharing with you another colour for Colour Creations blog hop and we are now at week 18 with the Art With Heart Team in Australia.

The next colour is Coastal Cabana, which is part of the Brights Collection and I've made two Father's Day cards using this colour. Coastal Cabana comes in Cardstock, Classic Ink Pad, Ink Refill, Embellishments, Designer Series Paper and other Stampin' Up! products.

I made two cards for Father's Day which just happens to be this coming Sunday in Australia, one of them for my father and the other I made for the kids to give to their dad. Today's cards are simple and quick. I've used the Online Exclusive Changing Leaves Stamp Set and besides Coastal Cabana I also added Summer Splash for my colours.

First Card

For my first card I used Basic White Cardstock, stamped the larger leaf image from the stamp set using Coastal Cabana and randomly stamping the leaves a number of times. Then I created an ombre effect with the two colours and used the Blending Brush to add the ink onto the panel.

I used the Alphabet A La Mode Dies for the ombre DAD and used Foam Adhesive Sheets for some height. To finish off the card I used the Beside Me Stamp Set for the greeting and stamped directly onto the white panel. The card base is Basic White Cardstock.

Second Card

For my second card I created a water colour wash using Fluid 100 Watercolour paper, heat embossed the same large leaves image again, but this time only stamped the image twice and then adding White Embossing Powder. Then heat set with the Heat Tool.

Once I let the embossing cool down, I then added water with the large flat tip paint brush, next I used Coastal Cabana and Summer Splash ink for a soft look. I used an old Coastal Cabana Marker pen and splattered ink over the leaves.

I used the same sentiment from the Beside Me Stamp Set for the greeting and die-cut it out using one of the labels dies from the Unbounded Love Dies. The card base is Coastal Cabana Cardstock.

Artisan Design Team - Seas the Day

Hello and welcome, Today I'll be sharing with you my latest project for Stampin' Up! as part of the Artisan Design Team my group was asked to create projects using the Seas the Day Bundle. This bundle is in the Mini Jan - June 2022 Catalogue and is on page 38, which includes the Seas the Day Stamp Set and Sea Dies

This bundle was so much fun to use, I love the under the sea creates in the stamp set especially the octopus. The stamp images have a watercolour look and the Sea Dies die-cut out the fish, jellyfish, starfish, crab and the octopus. There are also under the sea intricate die-cut pieces, plus a large peekaboo die which fits perfectly on a card front.

Seas The Day Bundle # 157858

Slimline Under the Sea Card

My first project is a slimline card which has become a favourite of mine lately, I've used the seaweed image stamping it a number of times on the panel of Basic White Cardstock.

I've used the following colours Bermuda Bay being the darkest colour, then I also added Coastal Cabana and Pool Party Inks. I would also keep on stamping on the panel to get more variation of the colour and depth.

Giving the card more dimension I used Stampin' Dimensionals under the Calypso Coral octopus and crab,  Pale Papaya starfish and Bermuda Bay for the fish.

I've used the seaweed die and die-cut out a number of times in Basic White Cardstock and lightly coloured in with the Blending Brush. and Coastal Cabana Ink. The coral is from the larger die, I've just snipped it off and added Bermuda Bay Ink with the Blending Brush.

To finish off the card I've stamped the sentiment in Bermuda Bay onto Basic White Cardstock, added a white Baker's Twine bow and Coastal Cabana Artistry Blooms Sequins.

Octopus Ocean Floor Dimensional card

Going with the same colour scheme for my second card this time I went for an ombre look using Calypso Coral and Pale Papaya for the background Shimmery White Cardstock panel.

I used the Foam Adhesive Strips in between the two layers for more depth. The Bermuda Bay Octopus is layered onto the Calypso Coral panel with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The next ombre layer is a combination of Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Pool Party Inks onto a panel of Shimmery White Cardstock with the Blending Brush and then die-cut out with the large die from the Sea Dies.

To create the ocean floor by using Shimmery White Embossing Paste with Bermuda Bay Ink then apply to the panel with the Palette Knife and add sequins while still wet. I used the Sparkle and Shine Sequins which is in the Mini Jan- June 2022 Catalogue, they are perfect for an under the sea scene.

I like to add interest and contrast with the colours by balancing them out and overlapping the stamped images and detailed die-cut pieces using the different tones of blue/greens against the oranges. To finish off the card I added the sentiment using Versamark Ink onto Bermuda Bay Cardstock, adding White Stampin Emboss Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. The Artistry Blooms Sequins are in Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral.

Jellyfish Gift Tag

Using monochromatic tones of Bermuda Bay, I started off with the die-cut piece using the largest die from the Tailor Made Tag Dies in Bermuda Bay Cardstock.

I stamped the seaweed stamp image onto the gift tag and layered by adding detailed dies and the stamped image of the jellyfish.

The sentiment is fussy cut out using the Paper Snips Scissors and I added a few of the Artistry Blooms Sequins and White Baker's Twine to the gift tag.

Thank you for visiting my blog today, I would so love hear your thoughts on my project by leaving a comment below. Make sure you pop over onto Stampin' Up! Facebook page for lots of inspiration using this bundle.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #86

Hello and welcome,

Today’s Colour INKspiration Challenge #86 is using these stunning colours – Coastal Cabana, Pacific Point and Shaded Spruce. I love these colours together and isn’t the photo for our challenge just gorgeous!

I felt inspired to create a Christmas card for the colours and one of my favourite techniques at the moment is ink blending and with a little water resist. I’ve used a panel of Shimmery White Cardstock to cover the card front.

Using the Sponge Daubers for each of the colours, I started off with Coastal Cabana then Shaded Spruce and finished off with Pacific Point. Blending the colours together until I was happy with the application.

I applied water droplets by using the fine tip Water Painter and flicked water onto the Cardstock.

The In The Pines Bundle is very useful for any Christmas card and the Pine Wood Dies have different sizes for the Pine trees.

The larger tree I applied Coastal Cabana and Pacific Point Ink Sponged onto the tips of the tree. To add a little sparkle, I’ve used Shimmery Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter which sadly is now retired.

The other two trees I sponged Pacific Point and Shaded Spruce ink onto the trees. For the snow tips I’ve heat embossed White Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto the trees.

The Stag is from the North Pole Dies, I’ve added Coastal Cabana Ink and glitter. The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set and is heat embossed using White Stampin’ Powder. To finish off the card, I added tiny snowflakes from the Snowflake Sequins.

Week 11 Art With Heart Colour Creations Weekly Showcase - Coastal Cabana

Hello and welcome to Week 11 with the Art With Heart Colour Creations Weekly Showcase. Which the lovely Catherine Proctor is running our weekly blog and with a selection of other Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from the Art With Heart Team.

This week we are featuring Coastal Cabana in our projects. Coastal Cabana is part of the Brights Collection and this beautiful colour recently came back to Stampin' Up! a few years ago. Coastal Cabana comes in a range of Stampin' Up! products such as the Classic Stampin' Pad, Cardstock, DSP, Ribbon and more.

Today's card I've used the Forever Fern Bundle which is on page 110 of the Stampin' Up! 2020 - 2021 Annual Catalogue. I recently purchased this bundle and I'm so glad I did! I wanted to try out the Forever Fern Stamp Set in Coastal Cabana and Magenta Madness inked up and stamped onto Whisper White Cardstock. The coordinating Forever Flourishing Dies, die cut the stamped images out and I've also used Gold Foil for the foliage.

Also from the Forever Greenery Suite is the Forever Gold Laser-cut Specialty Paper, which you receive precut card fronts and greenery accents. One side is Gold Foil and the other is Whisper White. This makes card making quick and easy while adding beautiful accents to your projects.

Before adding all of the pieces to my card I embossed using the Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder with a panel of Whisper White Cardstock. I really love it in embossed in white.

I've added the Gold Hoop Embellishment as the starting point to my card and then I played around with different accents, stamped images and dies before I was happy with the layout.

The sentiment is from the Fancy Phrases Stamp Set which sits nicely in the arrangement of foliage.

Please visit Catherine's blog to see her creation and all the links are there as well, so you’ll be able to see everyone’s creations for this week’s showcase.

Thank you for visiting my blog today, I hope you’ve enjoyed how I’ve used Coastal Cabana Make sure you come back next week to see the colour Crumb Cake in our projects.

If you would like the new Stampin’ Up! 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue, I would be happy to send you a copy out to you. Please contact me here.

Colour INKspiration Birthday Bash Blog Hop #70

Hello and welcome,

It’s Colour INKspiration Birthday Bash Blog Hop #70, back on 11th January 2017 this amazing group was launched on Facebook and now we are celebrating! It’s our 3rd birthday and the theme is Birthdays.

You are invited to join in the fun too! Just choose any three colours from Stampin’ Up! plus you can also use Neutrals, Metallics to help with creating your project. You can enter as many times as you like too. Now that’s worth celebrating. The challenge will run for a month until the 10th February. I hope we can inspire you with all of our blogs, to enter I’ll place a link at the bottom of the post.

My three colours that I have choosen are Melon Mambo, Coastal Cabana and Pretty Peacock. The products that I’m using are Timeless Tropical Bundle which is from the new Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalogue for 2020. If you would like a copy of the new Catalogue and live in Australia I would be happy to give you one. Contact details are at the end of this blog post.

When I saw the Tropical Bundle in the Catalogue it was perfect for my daughter who just had her birthday yesterday, so this was perfect timing to create a birthday card for her. I just love the retro tropical imagery of the Timeless Tropical Distinktive Stamp Set and no need to fussy cut out the images as there are coordinating In The Tropics Dies.

I’ve stamped the flower images in Melon Mambo and Costal Cabana. To create the blended palm trees and one of the leaves, first stamp the image in Coastal Cabana, then with a Sponge Dauber I inked up using Pretty Peacock and lightly sponged the ink onto the stamp before stamping the image onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock. The other palm tree is full strength in Pretty Peacock and the leaf is in Coastal Cabana.

The 13 Dies in the In The Tropics Dies are just gorgeous, also included is a big pineapple, cute flowers and different types of leaves. I’ve used just some of the smaller leaves in Gold Foil and just to add a little glimmer to the card. To balance out the Gold Foil, I’ve placed a Gold Foil Embossed strip under the sentiment. It’s Embossed using the new Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder. The sentiment is from the Timeless Tropical Stamp set and stamped in Pretty Peacock.

The card base is Thick Whisper White, I’ve sponged with a Sponge Dauber and Pretty Peacock Ink onto the Cardstock. The following layer which is a piece of Whisper White Cardstock, die cut out with the Stitched Rectangle Die and before layering all of the layers onto it I also sponged ink using Coastal Cabana.  I wanted to create a tropical Island and giving that floating feeling about it.

I’ve added three Pretty Peacock Woven Threads Sequins to finish the card off and now it’s complete.

Click to join Colour INKSpiration Facebook group to partake in the challenge. All you need to do is up load a photo and if you have a blog you can link it back to your personal blog. Share with your crafty friends so they can join in with the challenges too. Just remember to choose three colours and create a birthday card.
