Stamping Sunday Blog Hop Texture Time

Hello and welcome to my first blog with the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop Team, the lovely Sara Levin recently asked my to join and I'm so excited to be joining the design team. We will be sharing certain Stampin' Up! products every second Sunday of the month.

The theme for September is Texture using Embossing Folders and Ribbon from the Stampin' Up! 2020 Mini Catalogue to our projects. The products I've combined together are the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder and Silver Metallic Mesh Ribbon. 

The three cards I've created are for a Beginner Crafter, Casual Crafter & Avid Crafter. Starting basic with very minimal colour and slowly adding more colour as I went with each card. I really love use shades of blues, white and silver for my Christmas cards. 

Beginner Crafter

Starting with Whisper White Cardstock and simply emboss the panel with the Evergreen Forest Embossing Folder. Adding a little of Wink of Stella by tapping it against another pen and the sentiment is inked up in Seaside Spray. 

Adding the Embossed panel to the Silver Foil panel, place the Silver Metallic Ribbon around the card and simply tie a smaller piece in a knot and adhere with a Glue Dot. Then add the finished panels to Thick Whisper White Cardstock. 

Casual Crafter

The second card is very similar to the first one, but with this card I've added coloured ink using a Sponge Dauber and coloured in the Whisper White Embossed panel.

Starting with Seaside Spray, I lightly added colour blending into Misty Moonlight and finishing off with Night of Navy Ink. This gave an Ombre effect to the card. 

I've added a splatter of Wink of Stella to the Embossed panel and a Silver Metallic Bow. The sentiment is inked up in Misty Moonlight Ink.

Avid Crafter

This card has more detail and techniques added to the card. Before I Embossed the Whisper White Cardstock I used the Ink Blending Technique using the same colours as the above card. 

Once the panel is Embossed, I added tiny water droplets with the Water Painter and sprinkled Wink of Stella for a pretty snow effect to the card. 

Adding a little shimmer to the Evergreen Forest by using Frost White Shimmer Paint and the fine tip Water Painter. 

I thought the Pine Wood Dies would be perfect for the snow scene, adding two different layers for the snow and lightly sponging Seaside Spray and Misty Moonlight Ink. The two trees are in Silver Foil and to finish off I've added the Silver Metallic Bow. I thought about colouring in the Metallic Ribbon with the Stampin' Blends, but I do so love it in silver. 

I've heat embossed the greeting using Versamark Ink, adding Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. Once again adding the Silver Foil panel under the detailed Embossed panel and  this time I've used Night of Navy Cardstock for the card base.

Your Creative Connection #YCC115 What's Behind the Mask

Today at the Your Creative Connection we are showcasing masking techniques, creating your own masks or decorative masks. Masking techniques are used to cover up or block off part of your project. It's a way of protecting an area from ink when stamping or blending.

You can use items such as Post-it notes or die cut images of Cardstock, thin paper will work even better. 

In the Pines Bundle

For my project I've used the In The Pines Bundle which is on page 43 of the August to December Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue. This starry night sky was so much to create and I just love the colours I've used for my card. 

To create the moon, firstly I die cut the smallest Circle die from the Layering Circles in Cardstock and used this as my template. Using the Sponge Dauber in a circle motion, sponging the following colours - Night of Navy, Misty Moonlight, Highland Heather and Seaside Spray. One of my favourite colour combinations lately.

The Pine Wood Dies has two snow like scenes long die cut pieces for your projects, I've die cut using Cardstock, sponging ink lightly in Seaside Spray and Highland Heather.

I also used the same snow scene die cut image for the pine trees, giving the impression that some of the pine trees are behind the snow. 

I've used a Post-it note for the stamped image of the pine trees, fussy cut out and covered the first stamped image which is already stamped onto the card.

For the starry night I've splattered water by using the fine tip Water Painter and Wink of Stella. It's hard to see with the photos but there's plenty of glitter on the card.

The sentiment is heat embossed using Versamark Ink, White Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.

Just Add Ink #516.....Inspiration!

Today, I will be sharing with you a Christmas card for the latest Just Add Ink #516 Inspiration Challenge and I've taken some of the elements from the picture.

I've chosen the colours, circles, baubles and the Christmas tree for my creation.

The colours I've used are Magenta Madness and Coastal Cabana this is a gorgeous combination and so bright and happy.

I've started with the card base in Magenta Madness Cardstock, layered with the polka dot DSP in Coastal Cabana and added a wash in Magenta Madness Ink on a piece of Shimmery Whisper White Cardstock.

I've used new products from the Stampin' Up! 2020 Mini Catalogue, firstly the Christmas tree is from the Pine Wood Dies using the larger tree and Shimmery Whisper White Cardstock. I've added Magenta Madness Ink to the paper, once dried I just had to add Wink of Stella for some sparkle. 

In The Pines Bundle

The baubles are from the Sounds of the Seasons Dies, I've inked up Shimmery Whisper White Cardstock with the above mentioned colours.

Cherish The Season Bundle

Before layering the tree and baubles, I placed the beautiful Coastal Cabana Playing With Patterns Ribbon as if it was wrapping around the Christmas tree. 

The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set which has returned from last year's catalogue. To finish I've placed the Woven Threads Sequins onto the tree and Cardstock.
