Adorable Owls - Saleabration

Hello and welcome,

Today I'll be sharing with you a cute masculine card using the FREE Saleabration item Adorable Owls Stamp Set (160269) which is available until supplies last or at the end of February 2023. Purchase $90AUD worth of Stampin' Up! products and then select this adorable stamp set as your FREE item.

Adorable Owls Stamp Set (160269)

I just love the Adorable Owls stamp set you get three different owls and some cute fun sentiments too. I've used Watercolor Pencils and coloured the owl in with them and then used the fine tip Water Painter and went over the coloured area. I wanted the flying owl to have a party hat and bow tie so I fussy cut out the accessories from the other two owls.

For the sentiment I've used the Fancy Flora 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper using the painted Night of Navy paper and die-cut the letters from the Alphabet A La Mode Dies (160750). A great tip is to use the Adhesive Sheets (152334) or Foam Adhesive Sheets (152815) when die-cutting detailed Dies this makes it easier rather than using Multipurpose Glue. Then you won't get sticky fingers.

I layered the die-cut letters over Basic White Cardstock which was dried embossed using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder (154317) and layered over the Night of Navy card base.

Global Design Project #GDP370

 Hello and welcome,

Today I'll be sharing with you the latest sketch challenge #GDP370 at Global Design Project make sure you check out their designs using the sketch below.

I always love Global Design Sketch challenges because the hard work is done for you. Now all you have to do is decide which stamp set to use!

Well, it wasn't too hard to choose from as I just couldn't wait to ink up the new Adorable Owls Stamp Set (160269) which is a Saleabration item, and it will be available to customers next year. It all starts from 5th January - 28th February 2023. Choose a free Saleabration product with every $90 AUD / $180 AUD you spend (before shipping and handling). The Adorable Owl Stamp Set is free when you spend $90 AUD on Stampin' Up! products. If you live in Australia, you can shop with me at my online store here.

These cute owls are in water colour using inks and watercolor pencils. I've used the colours from the Dandy Designs 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (160836) this is another free item available next year when you spend $180 AUD on Stampin' Up! products. The colours in this particular panel are Fresh Freesia, Mango Melody and Petal Pink. I love this colour palette together.

I've stamped the owls in Stazon ink onto Shimmery White Cardstock and I thought it would be fun to colour them in Fresh Freesia, Smoky Slate, Petal Pink and Mango Melody ink. I added similar colours using the Watercolor pencils and blending them in with the Water Painter.

The owls are layered with the Stylish Shapes circle die in Basic White, adding coloured ink in Gorgeous Grape and Smoky Slate with the Blending Brush.

There are three fun sentiments in the stamp set and I've fussy cut out the "Hoot! Hoot!" from "You're so cute". To finish off the card I added a few of the Fresh Freesia Loose Flower Flourishes to the card.

Bron's 60th Birthday Blog Hop

Hello and let's everyone give Bron a very happy 60th Birthday,

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Tonight, I'll be blog hopping along with other stamping friends that are celebrating Bron's 60th Birthday in 2022 with six blog hops, over six months with six different themes. This is the last month and it's all about this beautiful photo, Tropical Holiday which Bron is currently away in Port Douglas celebrating her birthday.

Bronwyn Eastley of Addinktive  Designs has set up this blog hop for her birthday. I'm so excited to see everyone's beautiful tropical holiday projects and I'm so glad I could join in the fun with everyone.

Whether you just came from Vy Tran's blog, or you are just starting here, be sure to continue on through the rest of the blog hop by clicking the navigation button at the end of this post. I'll pop the next link at the end of my blog.

Tonight's card is based on the beautiful blue tropical water and colourful seashells. I've used the Friends are Like Seashells Stamp set and variety of blues from the Stampin' Up! colors.

To create this fun paper tearing ripple effect I recently watch a tutorial by Cindy Schuster from the Crafty Carrot Co 'He's All That August 2022' and I just had to try it out with shades of blues for the ocean.

I've used strips of cardstock in the following colors Basic White, Tahitian Tide, Orchid Oasis, Starry Sky and Night of Navy. All you do is rip the cardstock towards you with your fingers, I added coloured ink on each of the strips with the Blending Brush and then adhere the strips with Multipurpose Glue onto a piece of cardstock. I used Night of Navy 7.5cm x 14.4cm

I had some strips longer than others, so I just used the Paper Trimmer to cut off any excess cardstock. This technique is a great way to use up those strips of cardstock that you may have laid around.

The background panel is Tahitian Tide Cardstock embossed with Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder, I applied Starry Sky and Night of Navy ink with the Blending Brush to the panel. I so love the colours mixed together.

Recently I watched CASE the Guest Designer for August on Instagram and Melody from Stampinthroughthecatalog used this fun colouring technique where you go over your stamped images with Watercolor Pencils and Stampin' Blends.

The larger seashell was stamped in Starry Sky ink, Stampin' Blends in light Tahitian Tide and Orchid Oasis and finished off with Watercolor Pencils in Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green.

The round sea urchin was stamped in Cajun Craze ink, Stampin' Blends in SU900 and SU800 and finished off with Watercolor Pencils in Cherry Cobbler and Cajun Craze.

The starfish was stamped in Calypso Coral ink, Stampin' Blends in light Pale Papaya and finished off with Watercolor Pencils in Pumpkin Pie and Calypso Coral.

To finish off the card I unraveled the Silver-Threaded Twine by hand to make thinner strands, just remove the silver thread and there's plenty of twine left over for your projects.

Please click on the below button to see the amazing Andrea Sargent, I always love seeing beautiful projects.

Make sure you hop around and see everyone's beautiful projects; I think I need a holiday on a tropical island!

Stampin' Up! Tip and technique Friends of the Forest

 Hello and welcome,

Today I wanted to share with you my latest tip and technique by using the faux masking technique with Blending Brushes and Grid Paper. I've used the Friends of the Forest Stamp Set which is in the Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue January to June 2022.

Create a faux torn paper look by tearing up Grid Paper and using it as a mask over Basic White Cardstock. Apply ink to the Cardstock with Blending Brushes. Here I've used Balmy Blue for the sky and Old Olive for the ground.

Add stamped images and then remove the Grid Paper. Complete your project as desired. Here I've used Watercolor Pencils and Clear Wink of Stella to colour in the stamped images and then fussy cut out using the Paper Snips.

I've used the following colours Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, Old Olive and Cajun Craze for the tree. Real Red and Basic Gray for the toad stools. Daffodil Delight and Old Olive for the daisies. Basic Gray and Melon Mambo for the rabbit.

To finish off the card I added White Baker's Twine to the panel and greeting is adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. The panel is layered over Old Olive Cardstock for the card base.
