#TGIFC428 Color Challenge Textured Floral

 Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today, I'll be sharing with you a card I've made for TGIF Challenge #TGIFC428 and the challenge is "Colour Challenge" Make sure you check out the design team and see their amazing projects. The colours are Sweet Sorbet, Lemon Lolly and Basic Black.

Here's my take on these gorgeous colours it certainly isn't something I would normally use when it comes to card making, but I'm always up for a challenge.

I've used the Textured Floral bundle and it's been my go-to the bundle is from the Stampin' Up! 2023-24 Annual Catalogue. The reason why is because I've been creating a display board for The Create, Share and Play demonstrator team event called "35 for 35" it's a global event to help celebrate the 35th Anniversary of Stampin' Up! It's on this weekend and we have a very special guest flying in from Utah, Sara Douglass our amazing Stampin' Up! CEO. I can't wait!!

Now for my card I created a water colour wash using Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and a Water Painter I used the large flat brush tip. I started with Lemon Lolly ink and then Sweet Sorbet. I like to add lots of water and play around with the two inks. I also use the Heat Tool to push the ink around on the paper.

To create the three larger flowers, I stamped them in Sweet Sorbet ink and then stamped off twice onto the grid paper. Then using the Stampin' Spritzer spritz water onto the stamp and then stamp onto Basic White Cardstock. I also did this with the smaller Lemon Lolly flowers. Then die-cut out the flowers.

The elements of Basic Black are flower centers and foliage die-cuts from the Textured Floral Dies in Basic Black Cardstock. The sentiment is heat embossed using White Stampin' Powder with Basic Black Cardstock. Basic Black Cardstock for the card base and my go to favourite ribbon is the Black & White Gingham Ribbon. Oh, and I added a few of the Lemon Lolly Solid Gems to finish off the card.

#TGIF422 - What Would You Do...

Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today, I'll be sharing with you a card I've made for TGIF Challenge #TGIFC422 and the challenge is "What would you do ... with a Navy Blue background?" Make sure you check out the design team and see their amazing projects.

I love anything blue and especially when it comes to Night of Navy it's such a beautiful colour. I just had to enter into the challenge and I needed to create a card for my dad whose birthday is coming up next month.

Exciting news! I just found out that I was the lucky winner to win the #TGIF422 challenge! Thank you so much to the Design Team for choosing my card!

To create the background panel, I used Basic White cardstock and added my three favourite blues from Stampin' Up! inks. Using a Blending Brush, I started with Boho Blue which is a new In Color for 2023 - 2025, then Misty Moonlight which is a returning color and then to finish off with Night of Navy ink. I love to create an ombre look for my cards. Then I added water droplets to the panel by flicking water using my fingers. It's such a fun technique.

I've used the Earthen Textures stamp set and stamped the images in Night of Navy ink to the background panel. Next, I added layers to the panel starting with torn strips of cardstock in Night of Navy and Basic White. I like to add different textures, so I placed Night of Navy Bordered Ribbon and Boho Blue Jute Trim.

Other elements are die-cut pieces using Earthen Textures Dies and Basic White cardstock by adding colour to the cardstock with the Blending Brush in Boho Blue and Misty Moonlight. Then die-cut out the images.

Then the final touch is using the Sending Smiles Dies and coordinating stamp set. By creating a soft ombre look for the sentiment and heat emboss using Versamark, White Stampin' Emboss Powder onto Night of Navy cardstock and set with the Heat Tool for the sentiment.

#TGIF339 Technique Challenge Christmas Card

Hello and welcome,

I've entered into the latest TGIF Challenges which is a technique challenge - Alcohol Blending using Stampin' Blends (alcohol markers), Vellum Cardstock, Isopropyl Alcohol, paint brush and ear syringe.

I've created a few of these cards in the past and they are always lots of fun to create using this technique. The choice of Stampin' Blends I've used for this Christmas card are Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, Polished Pink, Magenta Madness and Fresh Freesia. The combination of colours mix well together and I've used some of the same colours through out the card.

You start by adding the Stampin' Blends using the brush tip onto the sheet of Vellum Cardstock, then apply tiny drops using the Isopropyl Alcohol with the brush and then puff air by using the ear syringe. This is a fun technique and I highly recommend trying it out.

To create the rest of the card I've used the Sparkle of Season Stamp Set and Seasonal Swirl Dies. I've used Basic White Cardstock for the wreath and applied ink using the Blending Brush and Sponge Daubers.

I added extra leaves using left over paper from the Wonderful Snowflakes Embellishments, I adore the iridescent look of the foil.

The bear is from the Count on Me Stamp Set and is watercolour using Fresh Freesia and Polished Pink Ink. To finish off the card I applied the Subtle Shimmer Sequins and stamped the greeting in Night of Navy Ink onto Basic White Cardstock.

#TGIFC298 Sketch Challenge

 Hello and welcome,

I'm excited to share with you my latest project a masculine card and I've entered my creation in the latest TGIF Sketch Challenge. I just love the layout of the sketch which the design team have chosen and it makes creating a card so much easier!

I came across Narelle Farrugia's seashell card on Instagram and I just had to case it for a friend's masculine birthday card. This challenge was perfect timing.

For my card I started with a panel of Whisper White Cardstock, sponged Pool Party Ink with the Blending Brush and then ran it through die cutting machine with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. This folder is amazing, it reminds me of seawater and so much depth to the Cardstock. I ran my Paper Snips along the edge of the Cardstock and curled back a corner to give it more character.

The new Friends Are Like Seashells Bundle is in the Stampin' Up! January to June 2021 Mini Catalogue and it was perfect for my masculine card. The colours for the seashells are Sahara Sand, Cinnamon Cider and Misty Moonlight for the starfish. I also added a little sponging to the seashells and starfish using the Blending Brushes.

Using the Pretty Perennials for the sentiment is stamped in Misty Moonlight onto Whisper White Cardstock and I fussy cut out the word happy. Layering the Whisper White strip of Cardstock over a strip of Misty Moonlight and then my card was complete.

#TGIFC288 Designer Take Over

Hello and welcome,

I've decided to enter my project in the latest TGIF Challenge the theme for this week is Going In Circles which was chosen by designer Tammy Wilson.

I've created a baby card for our family hamper business YV Hampers for a customer and the Wildly Happy Stamp Set with the cute bunnies was perfect. I've used watercolor pencils in Basic Gray, Melon Mambo and used Wink of Stella for added sparkle.

The three stitched circles from the Stitched Shapes Dies are in Vellum, Purple Posy and Whisper White. I've sponged Highland Heather Ink with the Sponge Dauber onto the Whisper White circle and then added the bunnies.

Purple Posy is such a pretty colour, I've used the cute polka dot 6" x 6" DSP with a distressed look around the edges and a panel in the script writing 6" x 6" DSP.

I've used the Make a Difference Stamp Set and created my own sentiment in Black Memento Ink onto a strip of Whisper White Cardstock. Adding a little more black and white, I've used the Black & White Bakers Twine wrapped around the DSP and into a bow.

The final touch for a few more circles are the Purple Posy Sequins from the Woven Sequin Assortment.

#TGIFC253 Product Spotlight Challenge - Embossing Paste

Hello and welcome,

Today, I’ll be sharing with you a card that I have entered the latest #TGIF253 Product Spotlight Challenge which is Embossing Paste. I have used the White Matte Finish Embossing Paste combined with colour and sparkle to my creation.

I combined the tiniest drop of Gorgeous Grape Pigment Sprinkles with the Embossing Paste onto a palette (I use an old ice cream lid) and mixed with the Palette knife before applying to the Diamond Decorative Mask. I always secure my mask at the top with masking tape, so I can easily slip a piece of Cardstock underneath. This helps when you want to do more Embossing and the Mask doesn’t move on you either. Make sure you clean your Mask and Palette Knife in warm soapy water as it dries quickly on your products.

Before the Embossing Paste dries up, I sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter on and waited for it to dry. I added more colour to the Whisper White card panel by splattering Gorgeous Grape Pigment Sprinkles Ink with the Aqua Painter.

The water colour flower is from the Poppy Moments Dies. I’ve used a sheet of the Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, spritz water with Stampin’ Spritzer, add Gorgeous Grape Pigment Sprinkle on a Clear Block and Ink up the Water color paper with an Aqua Painter. Once the ink on the watercolor paper had dried, I then die cut out the Poppy images. The leaves are in Granny Apple Green Pigment Sprinkles. There was an extra layer using a piece of Gorgeous Grape Cardstock for the Poppy. I added Clear Wink of Stella to the layers for the Poppy and leaves.
