Creation Station Blog Hop - Ombre Blending

My name is Vicki Boucher, and I am from Melbourne, Australia. This is the latest hop with the design team at Creation Station, if you have come from Kathy Brown Kartak or you may have started with me. The design team at Creation Station are presenting their projects with the theme "Ombre Blending" this was a fun challenge to do. I create two projects with this theme using a mix of different Stampin' Up! products. 

When it comes to using the ombre technique for paper crafting I just love this technique. It's always fun to see how I can blend colours together. My usual go to are either Blending Brushes or Stampin' Blends. I like to mix similar colours together to achieve variation in colour.

Love You Card

Only just the other day I received my Artisan Stampin' Up! box of goodies and inside was the Autumn Leaves Stamp Set & Dies which is from the September to December 2023 Mini Catalogue. I die-cut out three Basic White leaves using the large leaf die and two smaller dies. I added the following colours to the larger leaf with the Blending Brush - Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape. For the smaller leaves I used Gorgeous Grape and Pretty Peacock.

I just couldn't resist those owls from the Bird's Eye View Stamp Set, stamped in Memento ink onto Basic White Cardstock and coloured in with the Stampin' Blends. I used Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather for the wings and Pool Party, Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock for the body. Those owls look so cute with the eyeglasses on them. These birds work well with the Stampin' Blends when it comes to colouring them in.

I used the Love For You Dies and created an ombre sentiment using Basic White Cardstock and adding Pretty Peacock ink to the cardstock with the Blending Brush. Then I die-cut the images out. 

For the background I used the Lost Lagoon ombre paper from the Bright & Beautiful 6x6 Designer Series Paper and added another torn layer in the same colour. To finish off the card I added Iridescent Discs in Pool Party.

Birthday Wishes Card

As I was having so much fun with these cute owls, I just had to create another card! This time I went for a more feminine card using pretty colours. The die-cut leaves are in Pretty Peacock. 

I used the Stampin' Blends to colour in the birds and books using Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather. Then I fussy cut them out with Paper Snips.

To create the sentiment, I added the following colours using a Blending Brush to Basic White Cardstock - Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape. I die-cut out the image with the Sending Dies and Foam Adhesive Sheets.

For the background layer I used Bubble Bath ombre paper from the Bright & Beautiful 6x6 Designer Series Paper and added another torn layer using the polka dots. 

Other elements I've used are Bubble Bath Sheer Ribbon, heat embossed the sentiment which is from the Sending Smiles Stamp Set and White Iridescent Discs.

Artisan Design Team - Artfully Composed Suite Collection

 

Hello and welcome,

My name is Vicki Boucher and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Today I'll be sharing three projects using the Artfully Composed Suite Collection, turning them into a slimline card, standard card, gift bag and gift tag.

The Artisan Design Team are featuring the Artfully Composed Suite Collection on Stampin' Up! Facebook page where you'll sure to be inspired by everyone's creations, I'll add the link at the end of my blog.

The Artfully Composed Suite (157765) is located on page 32 to 34 of the Stampin' Up! Jan - June Mini Catalogue. This beautiful suite consists of Artfully Layered Stamp Set (157752), Tropical Layered Dies (1457760), White 3/4" Frayed Ribbon (158138), Faux Sea Grass Shapes (158139), Vellum 12" x 12" Layering Designs (157764) and Artfully Composed 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (157750). I just love how it all works together and the beautiful lush tropical images. 

Hey There Slimline Card

To create my slimline card, start with Crumb Cake Cardstock measured at 8.5cm x 21cm, lightly adding Crumb Cake Ink with the Blending Brush to the edges of the cardstock and also a little of Evening Evergreen Ink.

Stamp the larger images first to the panel using Evening Evergreen and Calypso Coral Ink for the lush tropical images. The script writing is stamped in Versamark Ink giving a tone on tone effect. Using a Blending Brush add Calypso Coral Ink to the stamped images in Calypso Coral.

I love all of the images from the Tropical Layers Dies they add so much more detail to your creations. I added Soft Suede and Old Olive Ink using a Blending Brush to the Vellum Layering Designs and then die-cut the images out using the Tropical Layered Dies. 

On one side of the Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper has hand painted tropical designs and on the other has small print patterns such as stripes, polka dots and scripty writing. I used the small print designs like the Calypso Coral Designer Series Paper, die-cut out using the detailed leaf die to add different elements to my project.

To finish off my card I coloured in the White Frayed Ribbon using Evening Evergreen Stampin' Blend. I also added a few of the Old Olive Faux Sea Grass Shapes to my card.

Happiest Birthday Whishes Card

My next card is a standard size card, starting with Sahara Sand Cardstock for the panel, to create the background use the solid palm leaf die-cut image, with your Blending Brush and Evening Evergreen Ink to create a faux masking technique.

I've used the Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper and die-cut out using the Tropical Layers Dies for lots of interest and layers to the card. 

The palm leaf stamp image from the Artfully Layered Stamp Set would have to be my favourite out of all of the images in the set. I've stamped the image in Crumb Cake Ink onto Crumb Cake Cardstock and Evening Evergreen Ink onto Evening Evergreen Cardstock, then die-cut out using the Tropical Layers Dies. 

This time for the White Frayed Ribbon, I coloured it in using Crumb Cake Stampin' Blend. The other elements are a strip of Calypso Coral Cardstock die-cut out using the stitched pinking edge die and for a natural look I just couldn't go past the Linen Thread, tied it in a bow.

The sentiment is stamped in Versamark Ink onto Basic Black Cardstock, White Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. Then fussy cut out using the Paper Snips. I coloured in the Faux Sea Grass Shapes using Evening Evergreen Stampin' Blend.

Ombre Gift Bag and Thank You Tag

My last project is a quick simple gift bag with a fancy gift tag, using the soon to be retired Ombre Gift Bag (155479) in Evening Evergreen and all I did was stamp the large leaf image in Evening Evergreen Ink onto the gift bag. 

To create the fancy gift tag, use the Tailor Made Tags (155563) which I just love to mix and match adding different sizes/shapes to your projects. I've die-cut out using the Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper in Calypso Coral and Evening Evergreen. 

Layering on top of the tags is a range of stamped and die-cut images, the palm leaf in Sahara Sand, Evening Evergreen, Calypso Coral and Vellum Layering Designs inked up using Soft Suede Ink with the Blending Brush.

Using the White Frayed Ribbon, I coloured it in using light Calypso Coral Stampin' Blend. To create thin strands from the Calypso Coral Frayed Ribbon by pulling apart the wide ribbon. Once it is frayed, thread it through the gift tag hole and hold it in place. I added a few of the Faux Sea Glass and coloured the clear ones using Crumb Cake Stampin' Blend.

Artisan Design Team - Waves of the Ocean Collection

 Hello and welcome,

I'm so happy to share with you my latest project using the Waves of Ocean Collection for Stampin' Up! which you can find on their Facebook page and Instagram account. I'll pop the link at the end of this blog post. 

This collection is amazing! Included in the collection are the following - Waves of Inspiration Stamp Set, Waves Dies, Waves of the Ocean 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, Blue Foils 12" x 12" Specialty Paper and Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels. You can purchase all of it in one go by using #161797 for $140 AUD or individually. The Waves of Inspiration Stamp Set and Waves Dies will be carrying over into the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue for 2022 to 2023, but the rest is only available while supplies last.

Slimline Card

When I was thinking about creating my card I knew it was going to be a slimline card and I just love the shades of blues in the Designer Series Paper. The Basic white panel was my starting point for the background of the three die-cut circles. I started with Night of Navy Ink, applied to the bottom of the panel and slowly worked my way up going lighter with the Night of Navy. Then I applied a little of Misty Moonlight Ink. The ombre look is one of my favourite ways to use colour.

Starting with the top circle I've used the wave stamp image and used the emboss resist technique using Versamark Ink, White Emboss Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. I applied Pacific Point Ink with the Blending Brush to the wave and removed any excess of ink with a baby wipe. I used the second largest Circle Die to cut out the wave. 

I've used the beautiful Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper for the middle circle and die-cut out using the second largest Circle Die. I also used the Waves of Ocean DSP for the third circle and this time I layered over the DSP using the two waves dies. To finish off the circles I used the stunning Night of Navy Specialty Foil Paper by die cutting the paper with two of the circle dies. To do this you use the largest circle die with the second largest circle die and I recommend it's best to use a little Washi Tape so they don't move around on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.

The stamped images of the pelican, pillars and sentiment are all in Night of Navy Ink. I used the smaller stitched label for the sentiment and tied White Bakers Twine on each end. I just had to add a couple of the Night of Navy Rhinestones to finish off the card.

Two stitched gift tags

I created two gift tags using different items from the Waves of the Ocean Collection and Tailor Made Tags Dies.

Using the largest stitched tag die, I die-cut out the Waves of the Ocean DSP in the pretty blue paper and layered it over a another tag die-cut piece in Basic White Cardstock. As before with the card I used the wave stamp image and stamped it in Versmark Ink onto Basic White Cardstock, added white emboss powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. I used Pacific Point Ink for both tags, the darker one I just applied more ink.

I like to match the greeting with the colour of the waves so for the pale blue gift tag, I stamped off first in Pacific Point Ink before applying to the cardstock. I also used the lighter shade of blue in the Rhinestones. The seagulls are die-cut out in Basic White Cardstock. 

I used the Night of Navy Foil for the seagulls, Night of Navy Ink for the sentiment and Night of Navy Rhinestones for the darker blue gift tag. I used the blue Denim Ribbon and frayed the ribbon to create long thin strands to tie the gift tags together. For the other gift tag I used the White Faux Linen Ribbon and to create long thin strands.

Stamping Sunday Blog Hop - Friendly Hello

It's Stamping 2nd Sunday latest blog hop for January, hosted by Sara Levin and for this month the design team will be showcasing the theme 'Saleabration' in our projects. The list of participants will be at the end of this blog.

I've created two cards using the stamp set and DSP plus other Stampin' Up! products from both catalogues. The first card I've used the Friendly Hello Designer Series Paper and layered it over Fresh Freesia Cardstock. I've used the Layering Circle Dies to create a Fresh Freesia Ring layered over the circle in Basic White Cardstock and I've added Pool Party Ink with the Blending Brush.

The flowers are stamped in Black Memento Ink onto Basic White Cardstock and coloured them in using the Stampin' Blends. I've used Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, Petal Pink, Pale Papaya and Pool Party. The images are fussy cut out using the Paper Snips and I also added Wink of Stella to the flowers.

The greeting is stamped in Fresh Freesia Ink onto Basic White Cardstock and die-cut out using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.

The second card I've used the Friendly Hello Stamp Set and other Stampin' Up! products. I started with a panel of Basic White Cardstock and created an ombre look by using Pool Party Ink with the Blending Brush. This is something I like to create a lot in my projects. I just love the Stampin' Up! Blending Brushes. I've embossed the ombre panel using the Meadow Moments Embossing Folder. 

I've layered the ombre panel over Pool Party Cardstock and Bermuda Bay Cardstock which is the card base. Sometimes I like to off set the different pieces of Cardstock or Designer Series Paper for something a little bit different.

I really liked the Fresh Freesia ring in the first card, so I decided to create it again using Fresh Freesia Cardstock, die-cut out using the Layering Circle Dies and layered over a circle of Basic White Cardstock. I've added Fresh Freesia Ink to the circle in Basic White Cardstock by using the Blending Brush.

The stamped images are stamped in Black Memento Ink onto Basic White Cardstock and coloured in using Stampin' Blends. The colours are Fresh Freesia, Blackberry Bliss, Pool Party and Bermuda Bay, The images are fussy cut using the Paper Snips. 

The greeting is stamped in Bermuda Bay Ink onto Basic White Cardstock and die-cut out using Stitched So Sweetly Dies. To finish off the card I've used the Iridescent Rhinestones Jewels which are on page 9 of the Mini Catalogue. They are so sweet to use in your projects.

Global Design Project #GDP314 Sketch Challenge

 Hello and welcome,

I've entered my self in the latest Global Design Project #GDP314 and it's a sketch challenge. The team have come up with a great layout, so make sure you see their beautiful creations over at Global Design Project. 

For my project I wanted to create a Christmas card using Sparkle of the Season Stamp Set and Seasonal Swirls Dies they are on page 58 of the Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue. I love the different swirl dies in the set and how you can create different seasons by using this bundle.

Starting with the Basic White panel I've stamped the snow flakes in Versamark Ink, adding Stampin' White Emboss Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. Then using the Blending Brush and Gorgeous Grape Ink I've created an Ombre look starting from the bottom of the cardstock and working my up.

The next Ombre layer using Basic White Cardstock, Blending Brush and Gorgeous Grape Ink, but this time leaving more white at the top.

I've created a three layer wreath using Vellum and Silver Foil Specialty Pack in the two lighter colours of silver. I also added lots of Clear Wink of Stella to the foil and Vellum for lots of sparkle. I also used Fresh Freesia Shimmer Vellum for the decorative dots.

The other elements to the card are the trees from the Christmas Trees Dies, Fresh Freesia Vellum Snowflake which is from the So Many Snowflakes Dies and the larger iridescent foil snowflake is from the Wonderful Snowflakes. The greeting is stamped in Gorgeous Grape Ink onto Basic White Cardstock.
