Creation Station December blog hop - Ice Ice Baby

Hello and welcome,

Today's theme for the Creation Station Design Team is anything sparkles and shines. For my project I've created a Happy New Year's slimline card. I think we all need a shiny new start to the year and say goodbye to 2020.

Using the gorgeous Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper which provides lots of glimmer and shine. I've used the paper through out by die cutting three snow flakes from the So Many Snowflakes Dies and as a backing sheet for the Playful Alphabet Dies.

Using a panel of Whisper White Cardstock for the Alphabet Dies, laying them out straight using a ruler and grid paper. Starting off  at the bottom and working my way up. Once happy with the layout, I used washi tape to secure the letters and numbers.

I've added extra shine onto the card with Clear Wink of Stella by tapping the pen against the lid which gives a nice sparkle. To finish off I've placed five of the glittery faceted Balmy Blue Gems which is a perfect match with the Glimmer Paper.

Well that's it for me today. I'm so looking forward to seeing all of the Design Team's creativity, so make sure you complete the hop. Next up is the lovely Denita who is also from Australia, click on the link below to see her project.

Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2021

Stamping Sunday Blog Hop Mini Catalog Designer Paper

Hello and welcome

Today at the Stamping Sunday Design Team we will be sharing our projects using Designer Paper from the Stampin' Up! August to December 2020 Mini Catalogue. We could either create a beginner, casual or avid card. Or create a card and 3D project, which I decided on.

I was drawn to the stunning Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper which is on page 37 of the Mini Catalogue. I just love the selection of wintery blues & mauves and the hand-painted snowflakes. Stampin' Up! have a fantastic Designer Series Paper sale on for the month of October 2020 which includes this DSP for more details about the sale I'll have a link at the end of my blog to my on-line store.

Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper

You can do so much when it comes to Designer Series Paper and I'll show you a couple of different examples.

Easel Card

I've used the DSP and Whisper White Cardstock to create an easel card which is very easy to do. I started with a sheet of 12" x 12" Whisper White Cardstock, cut at 6" x 12" and scored at 3" & 6". Then cut another piece at 6" x 6" for the card front. The two smaller pieces of DSP are cut at 2.76" x 5.71 and two larger pieces at 5.71" x 5.71" this gives a nice white boarded around the DSP.

For the front panel the DSP is embossed using the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder which adds another layer to the card. The tiny snow flakes are stamped on the DSP in Balmy Blue Ink, using the Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set. To set the wintery scene I've used different dies in Whisper White Cardstock, sponged ink with the Sponge Dauber and added Wink of Stella for added sparkle.

I've stamped the snowflake images and sentiment onto the two smaller panels for the inside of the easel card. The larger piece I've added a strip of Snowflake Splendor Ribbon so the card can sit up. The Dies from the Peace and Joy Bundle using the DSP and Whisper White Cardstock.

3D Project

The wintery snowflake Mini Pizza Box is my other project for today's blog. I've ink up the box using the Stamping Sponge and Balmy Blue Ink. Then I spritzed the box by filling up a Stampin' Spritzer using a drop of Frost White Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol. This gives the box a nice sparkle.

I've made a belly band for the box by using a wide strip of Snowflake Splendor DSP, then wrapping the Snowflake Splendor Ribbon around the box three times. Using the Dies from the Wishes and Wonder Bundle, I've die cut out the stitched gift tag and stitched starburst circle using the DSP.

I also used the deer and the leaves from the North Pole Dies, it's such a great bundle for your Christmas projects. The Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper is perfect for the So Many Snowflakes Dies adding more sparkle to the Christmas Mini Pizza Box.

A few more added touches such as using the Silver Foil for the Joy die image, clear droplets from the Flowers for every season Gems and Wink of Stella. The Mini Pizza Box makes a nice gift for someone special at Christmas time.

Your Creative Connection 112 - Return To The Fold

Hello and welcome to my first creative showcase with Your Creative Connection, I will be joining in on the Global hop around the world with other Demonstrators for the next couple of months. I hope I will inspire you with my creations.

This week our theme is 'Return To The Fold" which means anything like a Fancy Fold or Fun Fold project. I haven't ever created this type of card before and I've seen some amazing ideas, so I searched up on Pinterest to find out more about these types of cards.

I've cased my card from the lovely Artisan Demonstrator Rochelle Blok who had created a Twist and Pop Card. She also shared a You Tube video on how to make this type of card. I'll add it at the end of this post.

The card looks simple from the outside, but once opened the inside pops out! There is a 4 panel, pop up element inside. You don't need an engineering degree either to make one of these. You'll just need Cardstock and strong adhesive; I've used Tear & Tape and Multipurpose Liquid Glue which has worked for my project.

My project is a Christmas card, I know it's just over 5 months away until Christmas, but I just couldn't resist on making my first Christmas Fancy Fold project. I recently received brand new products from the new Stampin' Up! August - December 2020 Mini Catalogue. Demonstrators can do this for the month of July. I've used the Snowflake Splendor Suite which is on page 36 - 38 from the Mini Catalogue, it caught my eye with the different shades of blues and it was certainly on my next Stampin' Up! order.

Stampin' Up! 2020 Mini Catalogue

I've used the stunning Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper which has hand painted snowflakes and wintery blues. I've combined the DSP with Night of Navy, Whisper White and Silver Foil for my card.

Here is a diagram of the measurements in cm for the card base, I've used Night of Navy, adding panels in Whisper White and finishing off with the DSP.

Cut 3 pieces in Night of Navy; 20cm x 9cm, 26cm x 9cm and 30cm x 10cm
Score where mentioned - - - - -

On the front of the card, I've embossed the Night of Navy panel using the Winter Snow Embossing Folder and also on the inside of the card, but this time I've used Whisper White. I just love all of the Snowflakes and embossing is quick and easy!

The Snowflakes are from the So Many Snowflakes Dies, which I've placed both inside and outside of the card. I've created white sparkle Snowflakes with the Shimmery Crystal Effects this gives added glitter effects and a glossy lacquer to the Snowflakes.

My sentiments are from the Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set for the one on the front of the card, I've heat embossed it in White Stampin' Emboss Powder onto Night of Navy Cardstock and then die cut out using the Stitched Rectangle Dies. The one on the inside is heat embossed in Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder onto the panel of Whisper White Cardstock.

The final touch, I've added the Balmy Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems and they also come in Night of Navy. The are so beautiful with an iridescent sheen to them.

Now it's time to visit the lovely Dawn Olchefske in Minneapolis, USA and see her Fancy Fold project.
