Just Add Ink #498 ....... Just Add E

Hello and welcome,

It’s the latest Just Add Ink ‘Just Add E’ Challenge #498 and I recently created these three Easter cards for a friend of mine. She wanted two in pink and one in blue. I just couldn’t wait to start making the cards.

The three cards are the same layout, but using different colours, Dies and DSP.

The blue bunny card I’ve used Seaside Spray Ink and Cardstock. Sponging ink onto the Cardstock and I’ve water coloured the bunny. The DSP is from the Woven Threads DSP and die cut out using the Stitched Rectangles Dies.

The pink bunny with the Rococo Rose gingham card is using Rococo Rose Ink and Cardstock.

Using the same technique as with the previous card and use the In color 6”x 6” 2019 – 2021 in Rococo Rose and the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. The roses are from the Dressed To Impress Stamp Set and light sponged with the Sponged Dauber.

The second pink bunny card, I’ve used Blushing Bride Cardstock and Rococo Rose Ink for the sponging. The DSP is from the Best Dressed 6”x6” DSP and die cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.

I’m so glad I got to create these cards and I hope you enjoy seeing them too.

Kylie's Bertucci's International Blog Highlights Winners Hop

Hello and welcome,

Today, I will be sharing a card that I’ve created for Kylie’s Bertucci’s International Top 10 winners! Myself and nine other lucky winners are partaking in a international blog hop. We had won a competition with Kylie’s blog highlights earlier this month. I would just like to say thank you so much for voting for my card, I really appreciate everyone who took the time to vote for my card. To see everyone’s creations please click on the list of names which you’ll see after my blog.

It’s the last day of celerbration today and I had just received the gorgeous Flowering Foils Specialty DSP in the mail. I just love the rose gold and sliver foil designs and it will make any project shine. The paper is so nice to colour-in using the Stampin’ Blends, I wanted the bold flowers in shades of pink using Flirty Flamingo and Lovely Lipstick. The foliage is in Old Olive light and dark. Blending the colours together and also using the Color Lifter to create highlights.

As the flowers are bold and I do like the colour Old Olive the stripes from the Peaceful Poppies DSP seemed like a nice combination together. I’ve added the Whisper White crinkled Ribbon around the DSP and tied a bow.

I’ve also used the Tin Tile Embossing Folder in Whisper White Cardstock for the background panel and layered over the Thick Whisper White card base. I’ve sponged Old Olive Ink onto the Whisper White card base before adding any Cardstock.

The sentiment is from the Daisy Delight Stamp Set and I’ve fussy cut out the image.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today!

Social Stamping Blog Host - Hello

Hello and welcome,

We are sharing our creations through a new group called Social Stampers which was created by the lovely Kelly Kent. The theme is Hello! I feel it’s very important to keep in contact with people and with what is happening all over the world. Sending out a card to someone is such a lovely way to keep in contact and to brighten up their day.

The Stampin’ Up! products that I’ve used is a combination of different items from the January – June 2020 Mini Catalogue. I’ve used the Poppy Moments Dies to create a Melon Mambo water colour Poppy using the Pigment Sprinkles and Fluid 100 Watercolor paper.

I like the combination of the soft colours together using Pool Party for the leaves, tiny tropical flowers from the In the Tropics Dies and the sentiment also stamped in Pool Party.

The brightness of the yellows mixes well together using a blend of Daffodil Delight Ruched Ribbon, a panel of Shimmery White Cardstock and water coloured So Saffron Ink on the panel. The panel of the striped Daffodil Delight DSP is from the Best Dressed 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper I like how the lines are diagonal.

The card base is Thick Whisper White Cardstock and I’ve sponged So Saffron Ink onto the white cardstock. This gives a nice finish look to the card and to finish off I’ve added a few sequins.

There are so many Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who are part of this Blog Host, so click here to see their creations or click on the next button below to see the amazing Julia Quinn and I hope you'll enjoy seeing their creations.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #74

Hello and welcome,

Tonight, is the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #74 and this photo was captured by Simone Bartrum a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator who was on holidays on the stunning island of Mykonos last year.  It was one of her favourite places while traveling on the 2019 Greek Isles Incentive Trip.

The colours for the challenge are Night of Navy, Whisper White, Basic Grey and Mango Melody. You can also add Basic Black, Very Vanilla and metallics.

The challenge runs for almost 2 weeks and will end at 7pm (AEST) on 6th April 2020. I hope you’ll enter into the Colour INKspiration Challenge we would love to see your creation.

The card I’ve created is using the Free As A Bird Bundle and Forever Blossoms Stamp Set. I haven’t used the Free As A Bird Stamp Set for awhile so it was nice to get it out and do a little water colouring.

I started with the Night of Navy card base, added a panel of Night of Navy Cardstock and stamped in Night of Navy Ink using the larger flower branch stamp from the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set. I used a Sponge Dauber with Night of Navy Ink and sponged around the edges of the Cardstock.

I used the second largest die from the Stitched So Sweety Dies and die cut out the Whisper White Cardstock. Using the Sponge Dauber, I lightly sponge Night of Navy Ink onto the Whisper White Cardstock.

I’ve stamped the bird, flowers and leaves images in Stazon Ink onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. Using the colours from the challenge, I’ve water coloured the images in and fussy cut them out. I love the sentiment from the Free As A Bird Stamp Set and I think it’s very appropriate with what’s going on in the world at the moment. We all need lots of hope, virtual hugs and our health to see us through.

Make sure you visit our Facebook group to enter the competition, we would love to see how you would use this latest colour challenge.

Art With Heart March Creative Showcase - Monochromatic Cards

Hello and welcome,

This month the Art With Heart Team are featuring Monochromatic cards, that is cards that only use different shades of the same colour. This is a great opportunity for us to demonstrate the wonderful range of Stampin’ Up! colours across our inks, papers and embellishments that can be combined to produce the amazing monochromatic samples we have to share with you.

The colour I have chosen is Sahara Sand, it’s such a beautiful soft neutral colour and blends well with Shimmery White Cardstock. I’ve used a variety of techniques, textures and medium to achieve this look for my card.

I’ve started off with the card base in Sahara Sand Cardstock and I’ve lightly sponged the edges with Ink. The next layer I’ve created my own DSP using a strip of Shimmery White Cardstock, Aqua Painter, Sahara Sand Ink and ruled lines on the strip of Cardstock. The other panel is a piece of Sahara Sand Cardstock, stamped Ink using the larger splatter stamp from the Painted Poppies Stamp Set and I’ve created a background for my card. I wanted a vintage look so I ran the panel through my die cutting machine with the Subtle Embossing Folder and roughed up the edges with my paper snips.

To create the Poppies, I’ve used Shimmery White Cardstock, stamped in Sahara Sand Ink and lightly water coloured the Poppies. Before I attached the Poppies to the Cardstock, I added the die cut of the stitched circle swirl and sponged Sahara Sand Ink with the Sponge Dauber onto the swirl.

I really love the Scalloped Lace Trim combined with the Linen Thread and Bird Ballad Trinkets together. This gives the card a vintage look and to finish off I’ve added a few Pearls. The sentiment is from the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set, which is just stunning and I love the font.

The next demonstrator to share her monochromatic project is the amazingly talented Catherine Proctor

Colour INKspiration #73 Challenge

Tonight, is the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #73 and this beautiful photo is our inspiration. The colours for the challenge are Highland Heather, So Saffron and Mossy Meadow. How stunning is the field of lavender and sunset in the photo? You can also add Basic Black, Whisper White, Very Vanilla and metallics.

The challenge runs for almost 2 weeks and will end at 7pm (AEST) on 23rd March 2020. I hope you’ll enter into the Colour INKspiration Challenge we would love to see your creation.

Now for my card I’ve created which is a Mother’s Day Card and I’ve used the Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set. I’ve only recently purchased this set and I now know why everyone loves it so much. It’s a Distinktive stamp set which means less ink on your ink pad and stamp the better the image will look.

I’ve used a panel of Whisper White Cardstock, stamped the larger floral images first and I’ve covered up the roses by using the Masking technique with sticky notes. I would then add the smaller Highland Heather flower image and the Mossy Meadow leaves. This gives you the impression that some of the images are behind others. The Hydrangeas are first stamped off in Highland Heather and stamped on each of the four corners and sides. I’ve also added stamped off leaf images in Mossy Meadow where needed. I added a few of the smaller Highland Heather Rose images, by stamping on an extra piece of Whisper White Cardstock and fussy cut out the images. As well as a few more leaf images.

The So Saffron Metallic Baker’s Twine is a freebie from the Saleabration Catalogue, when you purchase $90 worth of Stampin’ Up! products. There is also Bermuda Bay Twine and coordinating Sequins in the Combo Pack. I’ve wrapped the Twine around the floral panel and So Saffron panel, adding a little sparkle.

The sentiment is from the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set, stamped in Highland Heather and die cut out using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I’ve added a few of the So Saffron Iridescent Sequins to the card and the card base is Highland Heather which finishes off the card nicely.

Do you have this stamp set? I’m so glad I have it now and I can’t wait to try out other colours with the set.

Kylie's International Blog Highlight March 2020

Hello and welcome,

Today, I will be sharing a card that I’ve created for Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights with the theme “Thank you”. I’ve entered my card in this month’s challenge and the top 10 winners get to participate later this month in an International Blog Hop. I would really love it if you would take a moment and vote for my card. The link is here or at the end of this blog. Thank you so much!

The colours of the card are very similar to a shaker card that I made recently. I just love the bright colours and water colouring is such a fun technique.

I started off with a panel of Shimmery White Cardstock and randomly adding ink to the Cardstock. I’ve used Mango Melody, Poppy Parade, Rich Razzleberry and Blackberry Bliss. All of the colours have been watered down. Once the water colour was completely dried, I then stamped the splatter stamp from the Painted Poppies Stamp Set and used Stazon Ink. The panel was layered over the card base of Basic Black.

I’ve also used the Painted Labels Dies for the card, using scraps of Basic Black Cardstock, I’ve used the swirly circle die and placed it under the Poppies. The other die cut piece is used under the sentiment. The sentiment is from the Label Me Bold Stamp Set.

The Poppies are stamped in Stazon Ink onto Shimmery White Cardstock and I’ve used the same colours as I had used for the water colour background. Starting from the centre with the darker colours and working my way out until finished. I like to add a bit more colour if needed.

The sweet little black flower-shaped sequins are from the Peaceful Poppies Sequins they also come in round, in the following colours - Gold, dark Poppy Parade, light Poppy Parade and clear.

The layout for my card was cased from the card on page 4 of the 2020 Mini Catalogue. I really liked how the Poppies are layered over the black cardstock.

I do like the mix of bright colours against the black stamped images and the Cardstock. What do you think?

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

#TGIFC253 Product Spotlight Challenge - Embossing Paste

Hello and welcome,

Today, I’ll be sharing with you a card that I have entered the latest #TGIF253 Product Spotlight Challenge which is Embossing Paste. I have used the White Matte Finish Embossing Paste combined with colour and sparkle to my creation.

I combined the tiniest drop of Gorgeous Grape Pigment Sprinkles with the Embossing Paste onto a palette (I use an old ice cream lid) and mixed with the Palette knife before applying to the Diamond Decorative Mask. I always secure my mask at the top with masking tape, so I can easily slip a piece of Cardstock underneath. This helps when you want to do more Embossing and the Mask doesn’t move on you either. Make sure you clean your Mask and Palette Knife in warm soapy water as it dries quickly on your products.

Before the Embossing Paste dries up, I sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter on and waited for it to dry. I added more colour to the Whisper White card panel by splattering Gorgeous Grape Pigment Sprinkles Ink with the Aqua Painter.

The water colour flower is from the Poppy Moments Dies. I’ve used a sheet of the Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, spritz water with Stampin’ Spritzer, add Gorgeous Grape Pigment Sprinkle on a Clear Block and Ink up the Water color paper with an Aqua Painter. Once the ink on the watercolor paper had dried, I then die cut out the Poppy images. The leaves are in Granny Apple Green Pigment Sprinkles. There was an extra layer using a piece of Gorgeous Grape Cardstock for the Poppy. I added Clear Wink of Stella to the layers for the Poppy and leaves.

Just Add Ink #494 - Colour Challenge

Hello and welcome,

I’ve entered into the latest Just Add Ink #494 – Colour Challenge, using the soft and subtle colours Petal Pink, Soft Sea Foam and Smoky Slate. I just love these colours and I had to play along in their challenge.

I was lucky enough to have a play with the ever so cute Bonanza Buddies Bundle, that koala is just so cute!

Creating the koalas in different colours was fun and I just love their party hats. I’ve used the striped party hat stamp in Petal Pink and Smoky Slate on the Whisper White die cut bunting.

I’ve created my own DSP not only once but twice for my card, I’ve used the Dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend and ruled stripes on Whisper White Cardstock. To create the Soft Sea Foam DSP I’ve used the splatter stamp from the Painted Poppies Stamp Set and the pom pom stamp from Bonanza Buddies Stamp Set. Once I had finished stamping, I then torn a section of the Whisper White Cardstock and layered over the panel of Petal Pink DSP.

I’ve created my own coloured ribbon by using the Stampin’ Blends in Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam by colouring in on the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon. It’s so easy to colour it in and I think it finishes off the card nicely.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.
