Global Design Project #GDP306 Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome,

I've entered this handmade card in the latest Global Design Project #GDP306 and it's a sketch challenge. This fun sketch challenge is almost over and I had to create a Father's Day card for my Dad, as it's celebrated here in Australia next weekend.

I've used the Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper which is in the Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue, it's more than just Christmas paper and I love the shades of grays in the DSP. It's perfect for a masculine card.

Starting with Basic Gray Cardstock for the card base, then layered with the plaid panel and diamond panel from the Designer Series Paper. The Tailor Made Tags Dies add more depth to the card bottom layer in Smoky Slate Cardstock and top layer in Basic White embossed using the Timber 3D Embossing Folder.

Using the leaf die from the Artistic Dies die-cut out in Basic White Cardstock and applied Basic Gray Ink with the Blending Brush. The greeting is from the Stampin' Up! Card Kit - For The Guys which has masculine sentiments for card making.

Thank you for visiting my blog today, I would so love hear your thoughts on my project by leaving a comment below.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI106

Hello and welcome,

I'm a little bit late in posting this blog for the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge here are the details below.

It's the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI106 and this photo was chosen by Colour INKspiration Crew Member, Lou Kitzelman. It's a stunning photo and I love the colours for this latest challenge.

The colour combination for #CI106 is Basic White, Real Red, Pool Party and Night of Navy. As well as the chosen colours you may also add Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory' and 'Bronze' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Poppy Parade instead of Real Red .... you get the drift).

The challenge will run for almost 2 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 6th September 2021 details to follow at the end of my blog.

For my card I've created a Christmas card using the Whimsical Trees Bundle which is on page 24 - 25 of the Stampin' Up! August - December 2021 Mini Catalogue.

The Wonderful Snowflakes are iridescent foil snowflakes and I've used them to create a stencil background with Night of Navy Ink and I lightly added ink with the Blending Brush to the Basic White Cardstock panel. This was also created for the Pool Party Tailor Made Tag die-cut image.

One thing I love to do is create an Ombre look when it comes to paper crafting and Blending Brushes are the perfect tool to do this. The large Christmas tree is in Night of Navy Ink onto Basic White Cardstock and die-cut out using the Christmas Trees Dies. The stitched garland die in Basic White layered over the tree and I added a few of the Real Red Wonderful Gems for Christmas ornaments.

The trio of the smaller Christmas trees are also from the Christmas Trees Dies, die-cut out in Night of Navy Ombre Specialty Paper and the other two trees are pieces of scraps from the iridescent foil which is from the Wonderful Snowflakes. One of them is in Real Red Ink, coloured with the Blending Brush which gives you a softer pinkish/red look.

I love to create lots of layers, so adding a few of the Tailor Made Tag Dies is always fun. The top tag is in Night of Navy Ombre look again onto Basic White Cardstock. I've tied the two tags together with Pool Party Striped Ribbon and White Baker's Twine.

To finish off the card I've added a couple of the Snowflakes, one of them has a little of Night of Navy Ink which is from stenciling the background panel. The greeting is from the Whimsical Trees Stamp Set stamped in Real Red Ink onto a scrap of Basic White Cardstock and fussy cut out.

I hope you can participate in this latest round and as we so look forward to seeing a variety of projects using the challenge colours. Please ensure that your project is new and made specially for this challenge.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI106 will run until 7pm (ADET) on Monday 6 September 2021.

Colour Creations Blog Hop Crumb Cake

 Hello and welcome

Tonight I'll be sharing with you Week 13 of Colour Creations Blog Hop with the Art With Heart Team in Australia.

Each week there will be a Colour Creations blog hop showcasing Stampin' Up! Colors with a selection of members from the Art With Heart Team who will be joining in. I'm looking forward to seeing their beautiful projects using the Stampin' Up! Colors. You'll be able to hop around by clicking on the next link at the end of my blog.

The colour for tonight is Crumb Cake which is part of the Neutrals Collection and comes in a number of different mediums such as Ink, Cardstock, DSP etc....I've used Crumb Cake with Fresh Freesia, Very Vanilla and Early Espresso for my handmade card. The products I've used tonight come from the Annual 2021 - 2022 and Mini August - December 2021 Stampin' Up! Catalogues.

Crumb Cake is a favourite colour of mine and I just couldn't resist creating a card for tonight's blog hop. I've been very busy lately with our family hamper business and with Father's Day coming up soon. I was going to make a Father's Day card for my Dad, but I always like to make a vintage style card when it comes to Crumb Cake.

I recently purchased Quiet Meadow Bundle which is on page 110 of the Annual Catalogue. This is a beautiful bundle with flowers, patterns and greetings for the stamp set and an abundance of wild flowers to mix and match for the Meadow Dies. I'm in love with this bundle.

Starting with the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set I've stamped off the images in Crumb Cake Ink onto Crumb Cake Cardstock. Using the Blending Brush, I've added Crumb Cake Ink around the edges of the Crumb Cake panel.

To make Crumb Cake pop I've added Fresh Freesia Cardstock for some colour and it's another favourite colour of mine. I've embossed both the Fresh Freesia and Crumb Cake Cardstock using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. To give each of the panels the old vintage style, I've used a pink nail file which I received out of the Christmas cracker last Christmas. It's the best gift out of a cracker in a long time.

I've created lots of layers by using different textures and elements. I've used Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla and Fresh Freesia Vellum for the Meadow Dies. I've added Crumb Cake and Early Espresso Ink to create a darker vintage look to the Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake. The butterfly is also in Crumb Cake Cardstock with Early Espresso Ink sponged with the Sponge Dauber.

I added a strip of the Cork Specialty Paper over the die-cut flowers and stamped the greeting in Crumb Cake Ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstock. To finish off the card, I've added a bow in Very Vanilla Baker's Twine and a few of the Fresh Freesia Jewels.

Thank you for visiting my blog today, I would so love hear your thoughts on my project by leaving a comment below.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 11 Cinnamon Cider

Hello and welcome

Tonight I'll be sharing with you Week 11 of Colour Creations Blog Hop with the Art With Heart Team in Australia.

The colour for tonight is Cinnamon Cider which is part of the In Color 2020 - 2022 Collection and comes in a number of different mediums such as Ink, Cardstock, DSP etc....I've used Cinnamon Cider with Early Espresso Ink and different Specialty Paper for my handmade card. The products I've used tonight all come from the three Stampin' Up! Catalogues - they are the Annual 2021 - 2022, the Mini August to December 2021 and Saleabration August to December 2021.

I love creating different shades of Cinnamon Cider when it comes to paper craft. I've used the Blending Brush to blend on different types of paper. The die-cut piece from the Penned Flowers Dies is in Vellum, layered over in Be Dazzling Specialty Paper and Basic White Cardstock.

I've used the flower image from the Hand-Penned Stamp Set stamped in Cinnamon Cider onto the Linen Specialty Paper and then I've blended Cinnamon Cider Ink to add more colour.

The Cork Specialty Paper is amazing! I love the gold flecks throughout the paper and I've blended Early Espresso Ink with the Blending Brush to create a darker colour. This brings out the letters from the Playful Alphabet Dies which is die-cut out in the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper.

I got the idea from Nikki Spencer who created a card using the letters with this gorgeous paper. I added a thin strip on the side of the Cork Paper. I think just the right amount of bling to my card.

The card base is in Cinnamon Cider Cardstock, embossed using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder and then I added Cinnamon Cider and Early Espresso Ink with the Blending Brush to the card.

To finish off the card I've added a few of  the Champagne Rhinestones Jewels which go nicely with this colour.

Thank you for visiting my blog today, I would so love hear your thoughts on my project by leaving a comment below.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI105

 Hello and welcome,

I'm a little bit late in posting this blog for the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge here are the details below.

It's the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI105 and this beautiful photo was chosen by Jan Clothier one of the Design Crew Members. I love freesias and I can feel spring is in the air with warmer days in Melbourne. I do hop you'll join in the challenge! It's a stunning colour palette and photo.

The colour combination for #CI105 is Fresh Freesia, Mango Melody, Old Olive and Very Vanilla. As well as the chosen colours you may also add Basic White, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory' and 'Bronze' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Highland Heather instead of Fresh Freesia .... you get the drift).

The challenge will run for almost 2 weeks until 7pm (AEST) on Monday 23 August 2021 details to follow at the end of my blog.

For my card I've created a subtle watercolour look using the challenge colours, Watercolor Paper and the Pierced Blooms Dies which you can find in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue 2021 - 2022. The die-cut flowers, leaves and centers come in several sizes and I just love the stitching detail.

The card base is Very Vanilla Cardstock and with an additional panel in Very Vanilla. The beautiful Fresh Freesia gingham paper from the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper is torn on one side. Something I love to do with paper and show what's underneath.

The other elements for the card is the scalloped border die from the Penned Flowers Dies, Very Vanilla Baker's Twine and the sentiment stamped in Fresh Freesia Ink stamped onto a strip of Basic White Cardstock. The delicate Fresh Freesia Jewels placed in the center of the flowers to finish off the card.

I hope you can participate in this latest round and as we so look forward to seeing a variety of projects using the challenge colours. Please ensure that your project is new and made specially for this challenge.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #CI105 will run until 7pm (ADET) on Monday 23 August 2021.

Heart of Christmas Blog Hop - Week 6

 Hello and welcome

Tonight's Art With Heart blog hop is hosted by Tina Gillespie with a selection of members from the Art With Heart Team who will be joining in. I'm so looking forward to seeing their beautiful projects using Stampin' Up! products.

Have you had a chance to see the new Stampin' Up! Mini August - December 2021 Catalogue and Saleabration Catalogue? It's almost been a week now and I had to place an order or two! I always love to create cards and paper craft for Christmas. I'm so in love with the catalogues. Stampin' Up! sure know how to give us a variety of products to suit everyone.

Tonight's project for me is all about sweet treats and I've used the Sweets & Treats Stamp Set and created a slimline card. This stamp set is in the Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue on page 11. I almost didn't see it until I saw an amazing card by Mikaela from The Crafty oInk Pen and it went straight to the top of my wish list!

This stamp set is perfect for not only Christmas but also thanks, love and birthday's as well. I love the open-art images which makes colouring in with your favourite colouring tools fun! It sure is money well spent.

The card base is Cinnamon Cider Cardstock cut at 21cm x 20cm and scored at 10.5cm. I've used the Gingerbread & Peppermint 6"x 6" DSP a panel in Gingerbread with white icing. As it's only measured at 6"s long, I've cut an extra piece and you can hardly tell the difference of the two pieces joining up.

The panel of Basic White Cardstock is light sponged with Misty Moonlight Ink with the Blending Brush. The pale blue brings out the colours of the sweets.

The stamped images are in Black Memento Ink and coloured in with the Stampin' Blends - Real Red, Cinnamon Cider, Old Olive, Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake and Ivory. I wanted the cakes to look like it's in a sweets shop so I've use the cake stand to create shelves. There was lots of fussy cutting involved, but it was so much fun to create. The greeting is from another stamp set as I needed something to fit inside the pudding, so I've used the Penguin Place stamp set.

I hope I've inspired you to start creating your own Christmas projects using paper craft. Stampin' Up! have so many beautiful products and I just love how it all coordinates.

Well that's it for me and I'm so excited to see everyone's Christmas projects so make sure you hope around the blog hop. Next up is Theresa Gerrard just click on the next button below.

If at any time you find a broken link please head to the blog of this week’s Host of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop, TinaGillespie, and she will have the list of all who are participating.

Stamping Sunday Blog Hop Sale a Bration Take Two

 Hello and welcome,

It's Stamping 2nd Sunday latest blog hop for August, hosted by Sara Levin and for this month the design team will be showcasing the theme 'Sale-a-Bration' in our projects. The list of participants will be at the end of this blog.

Today's projects are two handmade cards and 3D gift box using Stampin' Up! products from the Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration August - September 2021, Mini August to December 2021 and Annual 2021 - 2022 Catalogues

Sale-a-Bration is here again for the next two months from 3 August - 30 September 2021, each time you spend $90 AUD or $180 AUD you can choose a FREE product from the Sale-a-Bration Catalogue (before shipping and handling). Sale-a-Bration is always a great time to stock up on your basics like paper, adhesives, ribbons etc....

I've used the Delicate Dahlias Stamp Set - FREE with $180 AUD 156601 and the Be Dazzling 6" x 6" Specialty Paper - FREE with $90 AUD 1156629 as my main focal point plus adding lots of other elements to my projects.

Casual Crafter

Using the Delicate Dahlias Stamp Set for the main focus with shades of Crumb Cake and Early Espresso Inks and Cardstock. I really like the tone on tone look when using Crumb Cake and you also get that vintage style too.

Starting with the card base using Early Espresso Cardstock and layered with Crumb Cake panel. I've used the smaller flower stamp from the Delicate Dahlias Stamp Set and stamped in Crumb Cake Ink. Using the Blending Brush I've added Crumb Cake Ink and a little of Early Espresso Ink to the edge of the Cardstock.

The larger Dahlia image from the stamp set is stamped in Early Espresso Ink onto Crumb Cake Cardstock  and coloured in with Stampin' Blends using Crumb Cake light & dark and Bronze. I've used this same technique with the smaller Dahlias and foliage. Then with my paper snips I've fussy cut out the coloured images.

To finish off the card I've added Black Baker's Twine, Gilded Gems and the greeting is also from the stamp set. I've created this card to show that you can create something without using the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. All you need is paper, ink, a good pair of Paper Snips and a few embellishments to create a card.

Vintage Style Avid Crafter

Well what can I say this is my kind of card that I love to make! When I saw the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper in the Sale-a-Bration Catalogue this was on my must have list. The thick glittery paper sparkles and is a champagne colour. You can also colour it but I love it how it comes.

There are lots of elements to my card so I'll start with the Dahlia which is heat embossed in Gold Emboss Powder onto Very Vanilla Cardstock and coloured in using Stampin' Blends in Ivory and Crumb Cake light & dark. Then fussy cut with the Paper Snips.

Something I haven't used in awhile is the Square Vellum Doilies coloured in using Cinnamon Cider Ink with the Blending Brush and once dried I added Gold Gilded Leafing. This is layered over the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper cut at 9cm x 9cm with the Paper Trimmer.

Another new product available in the Mini Catalogue is the Cork 12" x 12" Specialty Paper which has flecks of gold throughout. I love the texture of it. I've torn one of the sides to give it a vintage look, ruffed it up with the Paper Snips and scrunched it up for a wrinkled effect.

The card base is Sahara Sand Cardstock, I've embossed it using Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder but it's a bit had to see as I've covered it with the Gold Gilded Leafing.

To finish off the card I've added Very Vanilla Diamond Weave Ribbon, Champagne Rhinestones Jewels, Very Vanilla Baker's Twine and the greeting heat embossed in Gold Emboss Powder on Sahara Sand Cardstock. The greeting is then die-cut out using the stitched label die from the Potted Succulents Dies.

3D Gift Box

Starting with the Scalloped Kraft treat Box which compliments the two cards nicely. The Dahlia and leaves are stamped in Cinnamon Cider Ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstock and coloured in using the Stampin' Blends. I've used Crumb Cake, Ivory and Cinnamon Cider.

The Dahlia is layered over the Tailor Made Tag Dies the first one in Very Vanilla Cardstock coloured in with Blending Brushes using Cinnamon Cider and Early Espresso Ink. The second is the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper.

I've added a few of the Genial Gems in Pale Papaya and ribbon in Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim and Very Vanilla Baker's Twine.

To finish off the gift box I've added the Gold Shimmer Ribbon around the box and tied it in a bow.
